I can't imagine how much time and effort went into making this compilation. Thank you so much. So much better than just Book 3. This show and your reactions are the best.
Watched this show through dozens of times still seeing new things every time so I’ve known how zuko and aangs life’s are yin and Yang parallel but I just realized when zuko gets struck by lightning trying to save katara he has a lightning scar on his stomach right where aang has one on his back wow I can’t believe I’ve never seen that
it's always great to watch Avatar but to watch it here for a full 7 hours was great can't wait to see the "We react to EVERY Episode of Legend of Korra" if you guys are doing it anyways. Also it really shows how you guys have improved from the First Episode to the last
Totally agreed! The joo dee blocking toph physically while verbally saying she won't be in the way is SO GOOD and only noticed it when watching the video
4:29:55 yeah like this moment, i never saw the bird taking a sh*t and i watched this show at least 5 times 😂 but after rewatching one or two times i saw many funny or foreshadowing moments, so i know what you mean. now all i habe left are jokes that went ober my head (probably because i have only watched this show in english once and my native languague didn't translate the jokes too well)
easily like its crazy that a cartoon can be on the same level as something like breaking bad but it is and thats saying something bc breaking bad is my favorite show
@@literatemax yeah I understand that it just doesn't have something idk what that just makes bb feel better for me but I also respect those who disagree
I just watched the podcast and you guys mentioned that you actually take losses on these big videos. However thanks to these big videos im able to get through my workshift without wanting to debark a tree at 80mph😂 so Thank you, rock on big doggs🤟🏽
Knowing that Iroh's son was actually modeled after a young Mako (the voice actor) makes the real world blend into the series world, which is rough. However, knowing that Mako never got to see the completed version of "Leaves From the Vine" which was in tribute to him in every way just absolutely rips me to shreds. It's such a moving sequence.
4:45:39 fun(?) fact. The reason the fire nation focused so hard on wiping out the southern water benders while leaving the north basically untouched is because the avatar cycle actually takes into account if the last water bending avatar was born in the north or the south. So the fire nation knew that’s where the next avatar would pop up if aang died without them ever finding him
Another fun(?) fact hama is indirectly the reason why kataras mom was killed seeing how she blood bend the guards when they came back to the south they knew that place to be one that could birth water-benders powerful enough to blood bend and since they didn’t want a repeat of hama they didn’t take prisoners instead just killed them.
4:24:35 don't mind me, I'm just crying uncontrollably because Toph didn't miss a beat when she met Korra. She knew that was her friend always and forever and treated her the same exact way she treated Aang. She got the answer to her question and it only took 60yrs 😭
6:28:11 Ruff. My guy. We need to talk. Not only did internet shipping wars exist back in 2005, the Zutara vs. Kataang war was the stuff of _legends,_ even by today's standards. And, yes, the producers were _well_ aware of it. In fact, at the 2007 (or maybe 2008) ComicCon, the producers did a short presentation, _just_ of potential Avatar ship names (if you can track down a copy of the video, it's hilarious. Loroli forever!)
During the Blood Bending episode, you guys touched upon how benders can have other materials, like water/blood eatch/metal. The other thing I drew fromt his episode was the variance in style between different bending types. Normally water benders are very flowy and smooth with their bending style, but after Katara has spent enough time with Toph, she picked up inspiration from the earth bending style and it is shown when she fights the old blood bending woman, instead of diverting the water attack, she holds her ground and stops the attack right in its tracks, which is very earth style. I think material aside, there are ways to manipluate the styling of other types of bending to use with your own.
I had the same thought. I've also been dropping comments about his SpongeBob videos. It would be really fun to see them reacting to his crazy ass videos.
@@mastokbreedtbg1398 I totally agree! It's mind blowing how much research he puts in, and the way he can reframe the entire series and then back it up with examples until you almost believe that was really what the writer had in mind. The man is an absolute genius!
Appa lost day episode received a Genesis Award from the Humane Society of the United States in the category "Outstanding Children's Programming", which the HSUS Genesis Award press release described as "[...] a mythical tale about animals held captive for human entertainment that resonates with the way animals are used in circuses today"
I love how the end of S2 took from Empire Strikes Back. The Empire infiltrating Cloud City and taking the crew as hostages. Luke having a vision of the danger and running away from his training without completing it. Luke getting his hand cut off and Aang getting struck by lightning. Everything ends with this feeling of loss.
1:48:43 Good news, Boom, you've mentioned you like to read, and they have Kyoshi books-The Rise of Kyoshi and The Shadow of Kyoshi-both of which are excellent!
7:01:52 "this is legit one of the best shows I ever watched" Something that 90% of an generation can relate to. AtlA had phenomenal writing, music, and charakters that stood out. Especially in a time where all Heros were eighter dark and Edgy Antiheros like Sasuke or Alucard, or goofy 'I wanna be the very best' archetypse like Luffy or Naruto, a Hero like Aang - who in the beginning wants nothing more than to be a kid his age but is burdened by the responcebillaty of his power and slowly learns to be the Avatar that the world needs, was just perfect. Plus Iroh and Zuko - I can't descripe the feels man. Everybody deserves an Uncle Iroh in his life.
out of the 10763520 times of me watching ATLA, I never once thought "I could only imagine how hot fire benders' fever would be like... like damn, hes 478º"
I remember watching the bloodbending episode with Katara's revenge and my mom came into the room. She only caught a part of the episode and demanded to know what it was rated. This came from a woman who saw cartoons as a kid thing and it was intense enough to make her think it wasn't a kid show on nickelodeon.
I love how confused yall get and i love when you get told or shown something one episode, a few next your like "wow what was that", yalls memory is so funny to me
Exceptionally cool detail I noticed on this rewatch of avatar the last airbender: Do you remember how Jong Jong teaches Aang firebending and worries about being too destructive with his fire burning everything down? Notice when the White Lotus are attacking Ba Sing Se, Jong Jong has those huge fire columns powered by the comet? The ones he launches down large streets packed with fire nation tanks? HE'S BEING MINDFUL OF HOW EASILY HIS COMET POWERED FIRE BENDING COULD BURN DOWN THE CITY AND THE CIVILIAN BUILDINGS. HIS FIGHTING STYLE IS CONSISTENT WITH HIS CONCERN ABOUT HIS "BURNING CURSE". IT'S NOT JUST MEERLY AN AMAZING SHOW OF FIRE BENDING BUT A DELICATE, SURGICAL USE OF HIS FIRE TO BOTH BLOCK INCOMING FIRE VERTICALLY AND MINIMIZE DAMAGE TO THE SURROUNDINGS BY NOT LETTING HIS FIRE BURN THE BUILDING LINING THE STREET OMGGGGG the attention to detail and the love of these characters is so apparent i love this show ❤❤
My favorite fan theory is that the reason Toph is portrayed as a giant man in the play in S3 is because the people she fought and beat were too embarrassed to admit it was a little girl that beat them
Inherently, Avatars are people of balance. They inherit the Avatar spirit, that also somewhat forms them to be the bridge between worlds, and balancer of the elements! So for as fun as an Avatar being a tyrant would be, haha, they naturally do not go that route ^^
That opening with the goofy twist on the Captain Planet summoning ritual is a hundred and forty-twelve percent something my friends and I would do. I approve.
I’m gonna take this opportunity to recommend two shows that keep the spirit of Avatar very much alive, The Dragon Prince and Lego’s Monkie Kid, both of which feature Jack DeSena, AKA Sokka, as the main character.
You can tell how amazing this show is with how each section gets bigger than the last, second season being even better than season one. And third season going even harder.
I do appreciate the love and dedication you put into this video. But the three of you please take better care of your visual health. The last two hours of the video you were rubbing your eyes just to be awake. Take care of yourselves my handsome dudes.
I hope you're gonna start reaction for "The Dragon Prince" series. It's quite similar to "ATLA" and "LoK" series, though magic system is different. But characters and history are phenomenal.
4:44:44, you speak of what is possible with air, think back to when they found monk Gietso in that tent along with him was entire platoon of soldiers, if you can force air into a dense form for combat, couldn't also mean you can completely remove the air with an area, making firebending impossible and immediate suffocation.
Don’t y’all remember the giant panda monster attacking the village in season one? The wong shi tong, the owl spirit of knowledge on the library in season two… Or the painted lady spirit thanking katara in season three? The spirits can cross between the spirit world and the mortal world at will… especially when they had a vendetta… and the face stealer was very angry at the avatar
Aw man I love this cartoon series! I’ve watched it so many times! My favorite characters are Toph (because she just didn’t give a f**k and invented metal bending), Uncle Iroh (because of his wisdom and chill mood and neutrality most of the time except when he had to turn up), Bumi (because he was just fun), Sokka (because he was just goofy but strategic) and of course Aang. I love how Aang and Zuko became besties. Aang was a pure soul and learned quickly but also believed in his teachings from his former masters and Avatars to remain that way. He was all for defending himself and others but not for taking life. As usual he found a way to defeat the fire lord without killing him. Yeah this definitely reminds me of One Piece and Naruto.
The wildest thing about Zuko Alone is that if he was just like "Fine, you got me, I can bend fire, so what", he probably would've been fine. If he'd said that he was a drifter who was ethnically Fire Nation but not acting on their behalf, everyone probably would've let it go.
So we’re gonna act like you guys didn’t watch before? I mean I was there. Nothing wrong with it though, I’m here for it…every single time, like I didn’t watch it too, just sayin
@@sortastupid OH! Makes sense. It’s been so long I was like wait wtf🤣 like I said I’m still here for everytime, apparently I’m sorta stupid..also baked
I feel like Azula’s downfall started when she thought her dad didn’t want Zuko joining the war meeting. Then she miscalculated Sokka for rescuing Zuki other than Mei’s part.
