Having not come across any Arabic people in my lifetime you tube has give me insight into seeing the personalities of Arabic people and the ones on RU-vid all seem really lovely, warm, friendly, welcoming people with strong values and it doesn't fit with the way the world media portrays Arabic people . I now love Arabic people and try more to converse and meet more of them but I do have to say I think most people's views get clouded by religion .

Im an American currently living in Bahrain. I was like Fluffy the first time visited the Middle East. I have to say that most of the Arabic people I have been able to associate with, are kind and welcoming. I admit they are more welcoming and polite, at least to me, than most Americans I've met along the way. This video was great, you both are awesome, thank you for posting.

I Dont know actually how It is now or the past in the Middle east. I only know i grew Up in Germany and lived there for many years. And now i live in Spain. Here were i live there are not much. But i Had a Lot of contact with arabs/Muslims in Germany. And some of them they even invitate me to mosque, their homes etc. They are not Bad countries or Bad Muslim, or Bad arabs etc. Only good or Bad persons. That's Fact. I Had the chance to meet, Libanese, iraquíes, iraniens, saudíes,... All of them were very nice to me.

A very nice and insightful reaction. I'm well aware Saudi Arabia has a very rich history, culture, and wonderful people like yourselves. I will say, however, that if I'm ever invited there (as Gabriel himself said), I'd do best to travel during the cooler months as my uber-Caucasian behind would likely spontaneously combust in the average summer temperatures.

When you say Saudi Arabia is different now I hope you are right. And when I say you. I mean all women in your country. Can you drive a car? On your own? With nobody telling you what to do? Can you attend a sporting event, and if you can, can you do it without a family chaperone? (Meaning yes you get to go but only because your brother or husband or father is there with you. As if you are a 5 year old wanting to watch the game) Can you take part in local politics or changes? Obviously being a Kingdom I'm not talking about replacing a leader. But surely community and local decisions are made. Are women a part of them? The true question that all the other ones are asking is; Are women allowed any independence at all? Or are you just talking about letting them listening to music and have an opinion finally. Or to put it in terms of an American Slavery equivalent, dressing them up and letting them work inside the big house. Making them feel special. So they behave. On the other side of the coin women have literally run several countries in NATO. And in the others have women in extremely high positions of power. What happens in Saudia Arabia when a strong woman challenges the men? That's always been the point. These are honest questions that are not coming from a place of disrespect. Merely the marker by which you can say that The Kingdom of Saud has changed. Because has it? Really? It just seems like the same thing, but with technology. I'm only asking because I don't know and I hope that when you say that it's changed you are right. And please, anyone in the comments replying understand I'm merely trying to do research. I live in Canada & we have most countries represented well living in Ottawa. Most days i walked by a daycare that the children where every diverse. most are happy playing & interacting, one or two ever young children didnt want to share toys. To me this is a normal thing, otherwise the same young child interacted very well. Where people are nice i see no reason to judge based on where they are from.

My first duty station was Bahrain. Can attest it does get hot there on some days it was sometimes 108 degrees in the shade. it defiantly sucked being in the BDU's as well as wearing a vest underneath on those days.

Hello, I am 61 years old and live in Florida USA. I do not judge others, I leave that for God. I look at people for how they treat others, treat animals. Are they kind, have manners ? I only care what is in their heart and mind. I do Not care what color the skin is or what country they come from. I think the world would be so much better if the governments would listen to the people, the "average " ones. Growing up I always wanted to travel, to see how others live, to see what other countries looked like. I never had the money to do this and it just wasn't safe for a female by herself.

Russell Peters is also very funny and is respectful of different cultures, and has a very funny story to tell from his experiences.

New subscriber, loved the reaction. And I can attest to what you are saying about Saudi and I'm sure other Middle Eastern countries from even further back. I was a US Army officer in Desert Shield/Storm in the early 90's. We were told so many things about Saudi/Muslim culture that proved to be as untrue as anything. I was the purchasing officer for our unit so another officer and I became friends with an office supply store owner in Damam/Dharan named Talal. He got us everything we could have asked for including plywood, not exactly an office supply, etc. He even brought us to his home for dinner, introduced us to his wife and children and treated us as honored guests. The briefings here in the states before we left told us the opposite would happen, they could not have been more wrong or misinformed. Looking forward to watching more of your content, love it when I find a new channel worth watching.

I would love to see your reaction to the comedy video "Baklavas from Gaza". On October 15th, so a week after the Hamas attack, German Comedian Shahak Shapira (himself from Israel) had a gig scheduled in a Bar run by a Palestinian and instead of cancelling it, he used his humour to try and put some love up against the hate. Of course it isn't a polished special. But I find the fact that he had less than a week to do this very difficult thing makes it even more remarkable.
