I think the conversation about component libraries really highlights the dissonance between what people talk about on twitter and what people actually use at work, to get work done. bootstrap is an old hand, it solved the problem, and people have used it for a long time. building internal tools and dashboards is probably one of the most common times to build something new, and many people are going to reach for the tool that they are already productive with and know, 100 percent, will get the job done for them.

Y'all definitely talked about Mantine, it wasn't a whole lot but you had mentioned it and I've still got tab open to check it out lol

When I first started using Ant Design in 2018 it seemed decent enough. I quickly grew to despise it to do how quickly it moved. That project has no respect for backward compatibility. At best things would just move by a couple pixels. At worst entire APIs would break or change. Trying to audit the change log was pointless. A patch release would have like 1,000 commits. I'll be thinking twice before using another project that comes out a large Chinese company.

42:00 .Net is the linchpin language of every public institution or traditional big company in my country HAHAHAHHA That 5th place and that Azure usage is coming from those places, MS is living off those people.

I’ve had no interest in keeping up with react for a couple years now

Ant design feels hevay and drops application performance. Its not like shadcn. that's how I feel it.

Interesting take. I have some projects using it but never stopped to think about this perspective. I don't notice the performance caveats or that it dictates my way of working like something such as MUI do.

Title should be: react to state of trash....

@@Daniel-qf1zz I mean, react is trash at this point 😂, the amount of stuff you need to learn is just mind blowing to me. - Server vs client rendering - State management - Hooks, like how many are there now ? like 20 freaking hooks - Context - Form handling is verbose af let's not even talk about performance optimization

@@mastermaster153 sure, but you're not gonna convince me that out of all the frameworks out there, react is.the simplest. Even angular feels less confusing than react
