We React to Young Justice Episode 3 & 4 For The FIRST TIME 

A little clarification. The Aqualad in Teen Titans real name was Garth. Iirc, he should make his appearance in Season 1 too, but he goes by Tempest in Young Justice

Fun fact: In the comics, Mister Twister is the very first enemy Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad, the three founding members of the Teen Titans , fought together way back in "The Brave and the Bold #54" from 1964. Though there, he's a human.

Like how the flaw with following Robin as the leader is that he's use to operating on a completely silent chain of command under preexisting standing orders. Like disappear into the shadows when there's a commotion.

Young Justice and Stargirl turned sportsmaster into a legitimate badass. People seeing YJ sportsmaster for the first time go from "heh, sportsmaster? What's his gimmick? " to dropping jaws, and when they see him in statgirl they get excited.

Little background info on the three lesser known villains: Sportsmaster is a, well, sport-themed supervillain who, in the comics, went up against Green Lantern and Wildcat. Although he was part of a number of big villain organizations like the Injustice League and Leviathan, he is usually considered a "D-Tier villain". In the comics, Shimmer is the older sister of Mammoth and a founding member of the Fearsome Five, a recurring villain team of the Teen Titans. In the comics, she has the ability to transmute chemical elements and compounds. The Cult of the Kobra is a snake-themed cult that follows an ancient prophecy to bring forth an Age of Chaos which will remake the world anew but better (basically typical comic-cult stuff). They usually clash with Batman and one of his teams named the "Outsiders" as well as Wonder Woman and a secret spy organization named "Checkmate". Much like Sportsmaster, they aren't used too much in the comics.

Young Justice season 1 has some of the best continuity I've ever seen in an animated series. As you will soon see, even small, seemingly unimportant details will turn out to be significant later. Its so awesome. It really keeps you on your toes.

Well, considering the fact that Superboy has been in stasis and under mind cintrol for as long as he existed up until now, it makes sense that he hates having someone else in his mind even if they aren't trying to harm him.

Cadmus was the largest and greatest storyline from DC comics, something the animated series did using some old plot lines from past shoes as a set up.

Also the new blockbuster guy who fought bane was the mammoth character from the high five team from teen titans

also, context for the original Young Justice: The team was created when the Teen Titans in the comics, well, had grown up. At one point they even dropped the "Teen" from their title because none of the core members was even in their teens anymore (heck, Wondergirl, Aqua-Lad and Flash had become parents at that point, too), so DC decided to use the third generation side-kicks (Robin No.3 (Time Drake), Impulse (Bart Allen) and Superboy No.2 (Conner Kent)) to create a new teen-focused super hero team after the events of "JLA VS. Titans: Technis Imperative" which was Young Justice. Sadly, the team itself, despite being popular, didn't really left a mark long term, because the core team members weren't allowed to grow and react like the Titans did (because otherwise they'd run into the same issue as with the Titans). The only lasting thing of the YJ comics run was Conner and Tim becoming best friends, but that was sadly it.

Aqualad is perfect for leader and he is one of this shows biggest highlights as he was mostly an original character.

Young Justice has my absolute favorite iteration of Batman. I can still 100% believe that vengeance persona of his while also getting a Refreshing look at his kinder side. The way he is the Team’s biggest supporter is so good to me!

Bane DOES have that Dog in him, but even with Venom, the size of the fight in the dog only goes so far in a DC universe unless you're an author favorite.

This is set on a different earth in the multiverse. Originally earth 16. In this world the teen titans and other young groups don’t form, but instead become members of the justice league covert ops team. This is my favorite dc media outside of the comics. Like Harry Potter, the stories mature as the characters age.

I Don't wanna spoil you, but season 3 is awesome, and this it's just the beginning of a real cool shocking season, also recomendations i won't get sick of saying it, but you really should watch generator rex, also, after young justice's season 2 i recomend you to try and watch justice League vs the fatal five movie, pretty cool movie and so it's not connected to dc universe,and also another great series to watch, green Lantern the animated series, DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING

Nope, sorry to dissapoint you about Red Tornado. He doesn't create his wind vortex by rotating his body really fast, he is just able to summon it literally out of nowhere. After all, he was one of the many creations of the weirdly obscure Dr. Ivo, who is basically THE mad scientist in the DC universe. That's the same person who also created Amazo, who is a villain strong enough to take on the entire Justice League by himself.

NO SPOILER COMMENT: The scrawny kid who gets injected and becomes the giant guy with the ripped skin is Mammoth from Teen Titans (Villain from Hive 5) Danny Trejo does play Bane This Aqualad is different from the one in Teen Titans. Two different people who take up the mantle. Think of this as an alternate universe to both Teen Titans and the DC Animated Movies you all have watched. Some characters already exist. Some not at all. Some have different but similar origins and some are wildly different. You are in for a good time, but pay attention to the names of characters. The puddings in the details!

Young justice kinda did what BTAS did back in the day and that was take more obscure/sillier characters and gave them a more interesting and realistic edge to them with sportsmaster being the earliest and more successful ones because sportsmaster in the comics is usually a doofus and the Young justice version is the one that is being replicated for other media even the comics.

Bane is often misunderstood as a mere brute. But he is not. He has canonically had a chemical engineering degree (though maybe not this one), and his original appearance had him deduce Batman's identity along with exercising superb strategy before he finally went into Wayne Manor to Break The Bat. Also, the Cult of the Cobra is not only distinct from the nemeses of the Joes, but this DC Cobra is different than the one I read about in my pre-nu52 Batman book. In that they were far less impressive. Speaking of glowups, this is the ONLY Sportsmaster version I respect.

Yall should also check out the Green Lantern Animated Series. A couple of the characters previously exclusive to that show show up in Season 4 of YJ. I think its also considered canon to YJ now. Or at least canon adjacent. Either way the GL show is pretty good

10:50 yeah this show had a habit of giving some characters a catch phrase, verbal quirks, or callback jokes. They uh … they don’t always land or can get tiresome. Depends on how you feel. After 4 seasons, some of them get to be much.

Yeah this Young Justice series is kinda better than how 2003's Teen Titans series was! Also in those two episodes they were still working on their team and who would be the leader.

I don't know how far you are on patreon but before watching season 2, you might want to play (or at least react to the cutscenes of) young justice legacy although the game itself is renown to be bad it's canon in the timeline (the game covers some of the big events occuring during the 5 years time skip between season 1 and 2. And some of those are big enought to be part of the s2's plot so you might get confused since they will be mentioned but won't be recaped).

What's DC beef with Tim Drake? He's a founding member of YJ and they had him replaced with Dick Grayson (wearing Tim's suit btw). . (SPOILER) And when Tim shows up later in the series he's a side character with 3 lines when he's one of the coolest members next to Secret.
