I think what you're trying to say is, its that it was never going to have a "Happily ever after" type of ending. It was always going to be bittersweet.

@@purpleirken1529 yeah I just think the unfairness and cruelty of the world was a major theme throughout all 4 seasons. I'm glad he didn't move away from that with the ending just to appease fans.

@@typod9903 Yeah, it's called "The Cycle of Violence" it will always exist. It might be peaceful today but that won't last forever.

I mean it looks like they really put a lot of emphasis on the visuals, which is perfectly fine. They weren't using headphones and talked over it, so it's obvious they weren't planning to nitpick the little details in the track.

Everyone ranks things differently. We prefer not to have too many things in the same tier. If we like an opening better, then it only makes sense to drop the thing we liked least to a lower tier. We're ranking them against each other, we're not ranking them independently. It's hard to rank the first ones we see accurately because we haven't watched them all so as we progress and watch more our opinions change. The other option would to have multiple tiers added "S+++++++++++++++" the same thing would happen regardless, things would drop to lower tiers as we progress.

9 is a real op, it’s in the final season part 3 part 2 (I know a lot of parts) tv episodes format when they aired in Japan, basically the last episode was split into 3 to 4 episodes and aired with this op

Under the Tree isn’t even an opening, it’s just a song used during the credits for the first special and I have no idea why people consider it an op. “Opening 9” is mainly supposed to be like a celebration to AoT as a whole, that’s why it focuses on past scenes for the majority of the op

@@Tsuwave It is considered an "opening", despite definitely not being one is any proper sense, because we had several months with no opening at all to represent 3 episodes worth of AoT. So it was taken for a lack of other options. That's why I put "opening" in quotes there. Other than just not liking the song much, I just think that representing the whole series wasn't the best choice. Every other arc's OP focuses on its own arc, so arc 8 kinda gets orphaned. It also seems incongruent to see old Eren in ODM gear with hype music followed by all the death and destruction and tragic tone. Why couldn't they have just used Under the Tree as an opening? Or at least kept it as the official ending? That is my main disappointment that I couldn't express concisely. Despite Under the Tree being the perfect song for the final chapters, it isn't the main opening, the main ending, or even the final episode's ending. I just thought it deserved better than "ending of just the first special episode if you are not watching it in episodic format."

@@SamLoser2 i kinda agree, Under The Tree is by far my favorite aot-related song, but in my opinion the tone doesn’t fit for the ending of the final episode, and it definitely fits better for everything in volume 33/special 1.
