The Hawk is one of the hardest robots to play among the "relative old meta bots". The fact that his weapon systems are disabled while firing the laser (not even the Ao Jun has that problem), the fact that the reflector only sets in for a short duration in which he flies but not when pressing the ability button and not when beginning to fall from the flight kind of requires you to use a phase shift at start to avoid taking immense damage at start and then kind of also need it at landing for the same reason. It's aweful. And in return you're not even getting more firepower in the air, but rather the opposite... Losing firepower. One of the robots where I would not acceot an Ultimate Version as "fix" but where I really need to demand an actual overhaul of the bot itself to bring it in line.
Reflector doesnt even protect you anymore, people shoot your reflecter without a care in the world. And Seraph forcefield may as well not even exist, its like you take full damage in the air.
Hawk isn't as hard as Ao Jun and Orochi, but it is definitely a skill based robot. I run HMG's, with 1 Nuclear Amplifier, 2 Overdrive Units and Shai drone and im melting titans. Thank you for bringing a video of an old robot with old weapons, much love Manni!
"The Entire Dude" caught me off guard! Lol 1 bug or feature I've seen in the hawk laser, when someone was firing it into my minos reflector and no damage was getting reflected to him. I want you try it. Except for fafnir and ophion, every flying robot needs a phase shift on both landing and starting to fly. Take for example seraph; that thing was so broken when introduced and now it's MEH.... Gets killed in flight which never was the case.... It was so rare, even multiple titans weren't able to kill seraph in flight but now even a normal robot can. I really want pixonic to reverse every single robot to it's prime time and see how the game gets balanced.

Hawk was such a great robot, it came in a time of need when the game just introduced the 2nd series of titans (arthur and ao ming?) And was the first counter to titans, nowadays is a flying punching bag for reapers crisis, but maybe with subduer/tamer it might work in the meta!
Sure with those weapons it does a lot of damage. But doesnt change the fact that the robot concept is simply not working in todays meta anymore. It needs a buff bad
Agreed, but Pixonic will probably (one day) release an ultimate version of this robot too, fixing some of the issues it has and overall buffing it, but that won't be available to most of the playerbase anyway and won't fix the MAIN issue 😢
Quite similar to the Incinerator/Scorcher/scald weapons. Not only were they released at the same time (to go along with the harpy and siren robots) they also charge up their respective effects super quickly, but empty out their entire clip in seconds, and take forever to reload.
I got a lot of ideas which pixonic would appreciate perhaps: - Ultimate cossack - a pilot which unlocks fafnir’s limit to how much damage it can amplify or giving it more mobility while flying - a pilot/pilot skill giving ravana the ability to capture beacons while in its ability ? (Prob a bad idea but it would be a strong opposition to the meta today) - Giving the angler mobility while in its ability ? (Again a bad idea) - Giving nodens more healing power ? And perhaps speed boost to the robot it’s linked to ? An exclusive pilot giving it that ability? I got some more cool ideas for new content :D like a robot making temporary shield infront of it from the ground upon activation, or it doesn’t even have to be necessarily a robot as a new content but making it so that specific parts of the map are destructible, resulting in more strategic play style. And maybe reversing the old robot’s nerfs which were implemented when they were “overpowered” ? All can be tested in test server and can be dealt with accordingly, and finally, I’ve been asking pixonic about it from 2020 and here I am again, a spider Titan! Maybe the ultimate raijin being represented as a Titan? Would love to see that. Raijin is my favourite robot in the game despite not being the robot with all the bells and whistles, I still remember using it with thunders and climbing up the mid part at the powerplant map in 2016, good times.

Personally, I doubt Pixonic has intention to buff some of these older weapons. Just because they think this could hinder sales of the new weapons they are releasing. This is how Pixonic think and they never listen the War Robots community, unless this is profitable for them.
Pro tip: If you have a flying robot like hawk, ophion, or other robots that fly pretty fast you can just fly in circles and a crisis reaper will never be able to kill you.
Thanks Manni! This was my absolute favorite setup the only difference was I'd use 2x balance units, Overdrive unit and an advanced repair. But when they , they being Pixonic destroyed these weapons (due to sales tapering off) eventually I chose the heavy version of magneter and the light version shotgun ( both have same reload time and distance) Happy upcoming New year everyone
Redownloaded war robots because I used to play a lot a fee years back… remembered why I quit, these matches are so uneven! Either my team absolutely destroys the enemy or vice versa. I think balance changes should be made! It was fun playing again though, my level 8 Leo and Natasha packed a punch… sometimes lol!
I hope Pixonic can add to Hawk BIW a special ability that Hawk's laser will have any effect inherited from any of its equipped weapons aside from defense mitigation... So, if Hawk is equipped with lock down, DoT, kinetic, blastcharge, sonic, or any effects weapons, its BIW will have the same effects as well... This enhance will make Hawk a bit better and interesting than before...
little hint on the Hawk, use 2 balance modules and a Nitro Unit, with the Reviver Drone. For Weapons I found long range is recommended, like Prisma & Gecko or Gause and Volt 😉
One maxed out immune amp is good enough for one of those to have it survive longer, I used to play that it Champion League Teremok Hel Teremok Snaer hawk mk3 Level 60 Pilot with Level 4 Paralysis drone. Only problem Ophion came out I had to use shield breaker and I don't like to waste powercells just to become more meta, there was also too many of them, so I swapped Hawk out for two spear redeemer angler two harpy yang lee and one Havoc Ravana trying to be a good threat meanwhile being anti powercell. I call it the Anti Powercell Meta there's some other set ups I think as well.
Mani, i am in champion league and i use a spectre wasp, corona halo mender, pulsar magnetar ares, shredder Loki and orkan leach. all of these robots are extremely hard to play with the addition of anti heal weapons and the speed of the newest robots but anything’s possible i guess… before around the time when khepri was introduced i used to main a mk3 stalker with two halos in champion league, always had the most beacon caps and about 5 or so kills a round. This was before all of the curving weapons and bullcrap was added, this setup is no longer possible sadly because of the ridiculous damage from orbital strikes and the fact that an ochorochi can kill you without even looking at you. Wish the game took as much skill as it used to in champion league… I hope they fix this game eventually. Thanks for all the good videos, always enjoy seeing your crazy setups.
I remember how strong the hawk was. It was something not to mess with back then if its on air. As of now, I don't think its obsolete but its just not too great out there. Unless with some good setups, this robot isn't that reliable anymore.
Ive never understood how the hawk beam works, ives heard ppl say its damage is based on what level it is and ive heard ppl say its baded on ur fire power, but i think this robot rlly does need a big upgrade to it
No it just bypasses all resistance. And deals twice as much dmg vs titans or rather normal damage while regular robots get half of that. Depends on how you look at it.
Actually, the weapons you're using do influence the damage of the laser. The transform ability basically draws power from the weapons you're using. The higher the level and Tier of the weapons you're using the more damage the Transform ability does. Even within Tier 4 weapons the transform ability damage fluctuates based on the weapon. The more you level the hawk the more resistance it bypasses.
@@shovelknight14By Hawk the weapons are important. A Hawk with Supduer/Tamer kills fast every robot. And with Supduer/Tamer weapons Hawk kills titans easy too. First Hawk starting attack titans with Supduer/Tamer weapons. Then when this weapons recharge, Hawk attack the titan with his ability. And after his ability then again with Supduer/Tamer and then Good Bye Titan. Simple thing. With the right weapons Hawk is always dangerous in the battles.
Dude i loved hawk when it came out. Rn it's not worth investing in it at all. I have a reaper crisis and whenever i see a hawk, siren or harpy i just switch my focus on them, because you can just end them with one clip. I wish they gave hawk a buff, i already have mk2 version of him and i just want to play it again
If you {Anyone who might be reading this} were to give the hawk a buff to be more up-to-date, what changes would you make to it?? Personally, I would first give it an additional 150-200k health. So that it can survive longer. Buffing the damage dealt to titans through the built-in laser. But nerfing the damage it can do to normal robots. {It's literally a massive weapon, designed to specifically kill titans.} After landing, give it maybe 10-15% damage resistance for 7 seconds. {To replace the reflector on take-off and landing.} An extra 3-6 km/h of movement speed, and lastly.. Make it so nothing can go through the reflector. While increasing the resistance of the reflector itself. I feel as though every robot designed to kill titans {Fafnir, Hawk, Seraph, Ophion, and maybe something else I'm forgetting.} Should follow the rule that they do increased damage to titans with their ability, but at the sacrifice of damage to robots. {Say.. 50-80% less to normal robots.} This way, they're being used for exactly what they're designed to do. Rather than this mess we have every time one comes out. Where everything just dies to them. We've experienced it every time one came into the game. For Snear, Skadi, and Hel?? I think a 10% damage buff, and a 4-6 second faster reload will be enough. Maybe a 20% ammo buff later on, too. Depending on how much people are using it/them. However, this is just what i would do. I don't even think it would be that strong. At best, Hawk would be able to do what it's specifically designed for. While the weapons get a little bit of their usefulness back, and become a partly viable weapon. Where you're not struggling with reloads every 8 seconds or so of firing, waiting for a 16-second reload or however long it is.
I reccomend runnint incinerator and scald on this build, the blast affect does great dmg and eith the paralysis drone you can lock your enmy down and give them an fire bath :)
Hel and Skadi were first weapons I took to Mk3, while they were still meta. Then they got nerfed hard, way too hard IMO, and I swore I'd never spend on game again. Not worth it IMO.
I dont know why people still use reaper crisis, at first time i got that setup crisis with reaper i played it for week and it felt so good but its getting boring even if it is so good. But nice video manny, keep up the good work!
Even though the hawk could definitely use a buff, weapons are just so powerful nowadays. Just look at the new weapons. You get shot at for half a second and your good as dead.
honestly those weapons arent as bad as i thought, i really loved them back in the day along with fafnir and when they got nerfed it bummed me out because they were really cool and pretty unique in a time were every weapon that cud exist existed. tho considering you can buy these things for gold its decent, tho this is a hawk with enourmous firepower so it wudnt work as well on weaker builds, tho with the hawk if u spam the laser ability then you will have plenty of damage coming in during the reload
Supduer/Tamer then Hawk Laser ability and then Supduer/Tamer again. And the right timing for this all. And then your problems in the battles will be much smaller ( when you have this weapons in Hawk ). Just simple. When you don't have this weapons, then by robots a Hawk with full sonic set of Devastator/Scatter is working good too.
I sold both my mk3 Crimson hawks. Kinda regret it, but I was so bummed when they nerfed it into its grave. Had 2x Calamity,1 spark and a ECU shield on one. Nucleons x2 and 2x light version on the other. I have never hoped for a nerf, but gosh, Ocho nerf and Newton nerf can’t come fast enough!
The weapons also need a buff, actually there are a lot of old ones or even relatively new ones that need buffs cuz they’re completely useless now like the rust rockets…
How about a robot ability that pulls others in your direction? Like, upon pressing the ability, you link yourself with a robot (can be an energy link like Leech) and you have an option to either pull them towards you or thrust you towards them. And if something blocks their path, then they suffer some collision damage.
Seems like the days where the hawk was deleting robots is now gone. I have several robots they should renerf and I want to know your opinion Manni. First off, the Ao Jun. Those nerfs are WAY too old. Even if the Ao Jun was rebuffed to when it was meta, it still would be a tickling robot against ochos, but at least it could hold it's own. Also give the hawk it's reflector back, remove 2 seconds on cooldown time (it's reasonable because the ocho and ophion have 12 seconds). Also rebuff the orochi by maybe decreasing the ability cooldown time since the lynx already outperforms it so much. I was also thinking about just giving the Raven stealth and increased damage built in on the ability. I mean everyone already has built in QR from legendary pilots so it doesn't really make that much of a difference, but in some situations the Raven can also get out. (Also gives you a chance to put another pilot in) I was thinking about buffing the Arthur. Give it some more speed, make the blastwave 150m, and maybe three alpha weapons? 😉(BUT buff the original thing, NOT make an ultimate version) Maybe the spectre, decrease cooldown time, give it more stealth time (so buff it back and maybe even more to when it was meta). Make the vortex, aphid, and thermite NOT NEED LOCK-ON and give it SPLASH DAMAGE. These weapons are trolling weapons, so giving them those SIMPLE things that will make it actually useable would great. Of course there are so many more robots, but that's all I really think of right now. Also I have a question Manni, I have Banes on my Curie that I won from you (thank you a lot), do you think that it's a good setup?
Every shielded flying bot should keep its sheild during landing and takeoff like it was originally. When I first started playing this game the no.1 top bot you could own was the deathwing Ao jun.
Everyone is talking about how powerful hawk used to be, but no one talks about how powerful hell,scadi amd snaer used to be when they arrived in the game, and if you think about it they are the same as back then but the clip is much smaller
The sonic weapons are a viable Weapon Class that is used in Champions League. They have a 16 second reload! the Hell, snear and Skadi only have 15 after the Nerf. And they deal more damadge (less Burst but more over longer encounters) they might be repairable. if you say that these need a Buff. Then sonics need a Buff too lol. Okay jokes aside. The Sonics do have a really long reload but the damage is really Good. Just if you look at the stats and compare them with the freezing lazers the lazers should be better.
It's still very good when nuke amp is up and Titans are spawning in but when there are no teammates around to finish the enemy titan off repair amp stacks up too much and the enemy is harder to kill.
Plus its the only titan slayer with no dmg boost. Ophion: 150% , Fafnir: 170%,seraph : 120 or 150% dont remember. Hawk: 100% ( not 100% more but 100% base damage since its 50% of base damage to regular robots )
the hawk is not worthless manni, it has enourmous firepower and a laser that melts titans and a reflecter which unlike forcefield, cannot be weakened and even if the enemy does shoot you they damage themselves, and unlike resistance the reflector cant be bypassed by anything except reapers and not even shieldbreaker will ignore the reflector. the hawk is still very fast in its flight and is probably better than most flying robots. in my opinion the hawk rivals the ophion just because that thing got nerfed into oblivion. the hawk did kinda deserve the nerf back in its meta because it was just too strong and is still great because unlike with the ophion they did not touch the speed or built in weapon dammage

The thing about those weapons is you unload them it’s just like the punches you load them you wait for the reload which is like what 10 15/20 then you unload them again and hopefully you get a kill, but due to all the resistance still shielding to be honest, you need to modules at least the repairable fire doesn’t really matter because you can still use the other pair things like pilot skills and that repair module all you really need is that one stealth drone andthe shield breaker
So jun is not necessarily harder to play. At least your weapons stay active. And stealth is better than the reflector in many situations. But yeah Ap Jun is also a robot that performs awefully due to overnerfing and forgetting about that when the game developed
hi manni i had this one glitch today where i had deployed a crisis and i had spawned in the enemy side instead of my side and then it was destroyed and it was still showing that it was available to use
yes one of the smart or pathetic strategies of pixonic is to kill the old robots and equipments to make room for selling new robots and weapons. And the cycle goes on which is called REBALANCE by piconic

Hawk feels kinda outdated in the champions league. I think the hawk needs a buff like a durability buff or it’s ability damage to regular robots to be 100% instead of halved the damage.

What's the deal with the Newton having to be in stealth mode. When attacking a Newton, it went into stealth. And I know a Newton doesn't have that ability to do this. Unless there's a module for it, and if there is one. Why isn't it in the store to get. I'm 😟

They still work good because I used a robot. I think it’s called the dragon or something it’s that fire breathing dragon and I used hel if I pronounced it right weapons on them and they were only level four each I know it’s like a week server probably but they still performing really well. They’re not that bad it’s just a reload that sucks otherwise they’re still really good.
