I would like to address and to offer some affirmation on the subject of your citizenship. Anyone that has lost sight of the profundity of the act of coming from somewhere else, raising your right hand, and accepting the responsibility of American citizenship by choice, has lost sight of the meaning of the gift they were given by birth through no effort of their own. We are a nation defined in no small part by millions of people making the choice to come here and make of themselves what they could for WHATEVER reason. There are many different ways to be American, and in my mind, yours is one of the best. Thanks for being here. We’re all better off for it.

Nikki, I know how hard it is but I feel like you treat the haters which too much good faith. They aren't trying to have a legit discussion, they're just trying to hurt you and waste your time and energy. By far most of us love TE and all of you who make it. ❤

A thing I could do is comment more to get that engagement up. I watch much RU-vid content via TV app and commenting is more challenging that way. Though it’s easy to like every video. I find that I see most/all TE videos as they drop, but I think that’s because I pretty much watch them all soon after they’re released. The algorithm will show you what it thinks you want to watch. Thanks again for continuing to make EV content that reaches a broad number of subject areas.

Glad you came out safe. Your business is tough, I have seen some RU-vidrs that just left RU-vid, and they are missed. They left due to hateful audience and even some invaded their privacy at their home. Glad you are sticking with it.

The earnest coverage on this channel was a notable part of what radicalised me into getting an EV. Thank you for broadcasting yourself (showing my age there lol) on a people driven channel that covers quite a depersonalised industry. You and the team have all put a lot of effort into this - I can see how much fatigue can build up but it's nice to see you keep going 🙏

I’ve 2 children who’re LBTG+ I view an attack on the community as an attack on my family. Those who do attack people, whom they hate simply because they’re different, should not be tolerated on this site, nor in any part of our society.

My opinion, feel as you like about it. You should not apologize for being a naturalized citizen of the USA. I see so many people who are born with it and do little to nothing to protect and nurture that privilege. You took the time to go through a legal process and earn yours. Exorcise your freedoms ... heck please celebrate them. This is a nation of many from many places. As long as they (and you) are working toward strengthening, growing and protecting this country.... even if we don't agree on 100% of everything we both believe (who does anyway)... I celebrate you. Nikki, you are doing the right thing. "Free speech" doesn't mean a free soapbox. You have every right to ban anyone who refuses to follow the rules as a guest. What free speech means is that no one should force another person to stop expressing themself, but by the same token, it does not mean coming to your place and freely say whatever them thinks regardless of the rules the owner has set.

Thank you for all that you do. Re: complaints about free speech, that's a pet peeve of mine. Americans (those who went to school here, anyway) learned, as children, that free speech is only protected from government representatives. Most seem to forget it by high school graduation. This false idea of everybody owing everybody else free speech rights is simply inaccurate. Your values inform what you will and will not tolerate. Nobody has any right to tell you otherwise. Hi Nikki, as one of your long-time Patreons, we think you are definitely giving too much acknowledgment and air-time to the haters and their negative comments. Those people know it's fairly easy to get under your skin. We think TEN is the best EV channel on YT, but many weeks, you seem to be giving the crazies justification for their sport of trying to torture you. You are impressive, so can be a stronger person than that. In something like the importance of getting the EV word and facts out there, so always best to stay on message. The nuts then will get bored and will stop their hate and negativity.

Love your show and appreciate all the hard work you (and crew and family) put into it. Have been fortunate enough not to see that many terrible comments but am definitely keen on downvoting and reporting if I see something. I don't generally linger on the comments too long anyway so maybe that's it.

I appreciate everything you all do and I'm sorry for the abuse you all receive. However, I appreciate you taking the truck out for a drive. The area where you were driving is absolutely beautiful. I love the rural countryside and that's why I want more EVs in the world. I want to protect such beautiful nature and farming land.

Thankyou for this reality check I confess I can get a little over the top, not here but on other random channels. I got a RU-vid warning and immediately felt bad. I like all the info you give, respect LGBTQI+ and realise there's a lot of actual work and expense goes into these production. I also see there's probably little point in responding aggressively to other commentors as it makes me as bad as them. Ouch.

I think I watch all of your videos. I agree with you to give a warning and, if "they" continue, then ban them. I use a similar technique with my cell phone and scammers, advertisers etc. If someone phones me once and doesn't leave a message (I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number) it's not a problem. If the same number calls me again and they still don't leave a message I block them. Scammers are so common I have more than two hundred numbers blocked. Incidentally I have never had a missed call from a Dr, government official or any other legitimate person/business in the years I've been doing it. I know it's hard for you but keep on giving the warning and then "block" the ones who need it. You and your team produce excellent work. Thank you.

So what are your thoughts on the Lariat and how has your experience been with the powering your home? I know you had some issues in the beginning with it working correctly and am assuming that has been fixed. But overall, how do you like the Lightning?

Just nitpicking, but hate speech is protected by the First Amendment. Whether that's good or bad is debatable, but it's a fact. But also, the First Amendment only binds the government, anyone else is free to moderate/censor as hard as they like.

Heh, I've been watching and loving this channel long enough to know what this video is about: the trolls. Thank you for speaking out about it regularly! It gives those of us also dealing with it the courage to keep working for a better humanity. This channel is beyond fair in the treatment of troll behavior, and it is such an agony that this problem persists. Please know that the vast majority of us who love and support this channel are so grateful for all the years you all have persisted in the face of ongoing harassment. Please know we see your work, appreciate your perseverance, and send you love and support for the ongoing struggle. The angry people, and those with bad intent, will likely continue as long as there are humans in existence. Those of us with good intent, and heart purpose to make this world a better place, understand the struggle, and are dealing with it in our own lives too. Keep on walkin, keep on talkin, the world needs our compassionate words.

It sounds like you can't win sometimes... Free speech vs Thou shalt not politic. It's strange that people seem to miss that this is a contradictory position. It's also strange that they miss that sometimes the position you are taking is based upon a real physical danger to yourself. You are one of the only car channels I watch that does actual journalism, and unfortunately, everyone seems to forget that that's a costly business that used to be covered by the newspaper bought to read the article. It would be much easier for you to say nice things about every vehicle, take ridiculous ads and do stupid stunt reviews and make more money. More than that, they forget that by being impartial and saying what you really think, you have made it harder for yourself to get the vehicles to review. You and the team have taken a brave position both from a business prospective and from a personal integrity perspective. You deserve a bigger subscriber base than you have.

I'm a regular viewer of yours and enjoy your content. You have every right to block comments. But just for clarification, as for the constitution and US law, hate speech is actually protected speech. Doesn't mean you won't face consequences from others or get de-platformed, but hate speech is legal. I don't do it personally of course, just stating the law and our rights as they are. As horrible as it is, it is an important right for anyone to say what they want short of actual physical threats.

Thankyou for going through this pain and bringing us such good content. I am very grateful for your voice. As the poet Shane Koyczan says in the poem "This is My Voice": There are many others, but this one voice is yours. As someone who turned off comments on a show I filmed because of ridiculously rude statements, and still just allows statements I approve because It's not my livelihood, I totally feel the pain that causes. Constructive and critical thinking should be taught in schools and community guidelines should be followed online.

I disagree with you on a lot but Nothing said on RU-vid should affect a person's health.

I watch your channel religiously because you are so good at what you do. Because you are so good at what you do, you attract a large audience and, inevitably, you will attract that fringe of unfortunate beings who post inappropriate comments. It comes with the territory of being somewhat famous. Your personal life is yours and you should get to enjoy it, but if have a large audience and you share aspects of your personal life, you will open yourself to comments, even dickish ones. This is true whether it is about LBGTQ or if you had a big nose. I’m sorry these comments affect you so much, but if you let it in, it becomes a losing battle. Please keep doing what you do because you all are fantastic.

while not the type of content I usually look for in your videos I defiantly understand the need to do something like this. I love the usual stuff and you are where I get most of my EV news, along with out of spec for reviews and ride the lightning for Aptera news, and lastly Fully Charged but since they are only in Europe and Asia I come here for US. If they were smart they would contract with you guys for the drive reviews rather then two bit I think you are way better informed and do better reviews. I like two bit for other stuff but for car reviews I would go with you or out of spec IMHO.

I'm hoping that there are a lot of people out there like me that just enjoy and appreciate your content and don't read the comments. I trust you to do what is best for the channel and I support your decisions. I've never thought your content was overly political. Thank you for all that you do.

Hi Nikki, as a subscriber that watched every video back in the day, if it’s ok I’ll share my feedback. Firstly I commend what you and the team do and support that but I hope you or your channel doesn’t keep suffering because of it. I used to love your videos with all the news and updates. It was factual and full of interesting and funny notes. I was convinced your channel would explode and I monitored subs on channels in similar genres starting at similar times. By now I thought you would have 400k subs and the fact that you don’t may be down to how ye wear your hearts on your sleeves. I’m a supporter of “what ever you want to be, be, just don’t hurt anyone”. For me the LGBQ thing is not an issue. Where it grates me though is where it is constantly brought up and the channel is bound by it. I didn’t know your orientation when I watched back in the day and I didn’t care. But I also don’t want to watch car videos where the guy is always saying that he’s straight, it’s none of my business. I would ideally like to watch videos of content about cars and politics etc but I don’t need to know about the creators personal lives, if anything I think people should reveal nothing about themselves. Look at AVE, a million subs and he has never been on camera. Regarding the hate, that’s disgusting but it’s to be expected. The world has become toxic and any attacks you or the team have had is not on. I see similar attacks on political channels and there will always be haters. I don’t do most social media and I feel better for it. As for monitoring the comments, even if you paid so,done to do it they would be miserable dealing with all that negativity and you would hate that. Is there a fix, yes probably but it may not be what you want to do. If you had 400k-600k then you probably wouldn’t need to ask for support all the time, can you get to that sub number with the current format, I’m really not sure. Unbelievable that people out there been attacking you and your team. It is shameful. For the record, your EV and EV technology commentary is superb. Keep up the good work.

It is a sad reflection of our society / world that people feel they can or need to express their hate of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. It is ironic that so many call themselves Christians when if they truly followed the teaching of Christ, they would be accepting. The Pope for example is accepting of the LGBTQIA2S+ community but does not endorse it as he is a person who has following the teaching of Christ. It is unfortunate that hate will be present no matter what is said or done. In a way, hate has become the religion of those intent on spreading it. Our political leaders are playing on this hate and dividing us even more for their benefit. History has shown that it will take a major tragedy like Pearl Harbor or 9-11 that will cause us to set aside our differences and hate and unite for at least a little while. We have to believe that love will triumph over hate. Nobody said that this will be easy and history has shown us a great deal of hate but there is also a great deal of love and acceptance. (It is also ironic that church attendance is at an all time low in America. I often wonder where people are getting their religious convictions against LGBTQIA2S+ or their hate for something that they consider different? My LGBTQIA2S+ friends are among the most loving and kind people I have ever known. I cannot say the same about my straight friends who's relationships are a train wreck or abusive in nature.) As far as the ads and requests for money go, presenting on RU-vid is NOT free! It takes time and money to produce content like TE does, multiple times a week. This goes back to acceptance. People need to accept that TE does not have a wealthy sponsor that would fund a project like this. The funding for this channel is very fluid and if you don't have new money coming in today, you won't be able to produce content tomorrow. Keep up the good work an providing good information for people to learn from.

Hate speech is not free speech. I agree absolutely. You have full authority to ban individuals and remove offensive comments. If people cannot act in a civil manner, you do have the right to remove them from the conversation. The true meaning of Free Speech in America is that THE GOVERNMENT has limited authority to silence any person or organization. Private enterprises and individuals absolutely do have the right to limit speech within their purview.

What's ironic is that Elon Musk - the father of Free Speech Absolutism mutes and demotes accounts he doesn't like all the time for basically saying nothing wrong. My organization occasionally used his feed to promote a crypto currency based on cancer research to him when appropriate - aaaand nobody outside of our current followers list can see those posts. This was even the case before he became the X CEO (we're banned from advertising as well). And yet, a channel like this on YT has to struggle with banning someone who is blatantly abusive. I mean when someone comes here, just like a restaurant can have a "no shoes, no shirts, no service" sign ... somehow, abusive hate speech has to be walked around on eggshells.

So glad you kept making content! Your approach and viewpoints are invaluable. The whole team is very impressive and I have been very impressed with the production value of TEN. The reality is that the EV demographic and the diversity demographic is a magnet to hateful comments. As you mentioned, the addressing of those hateful comments addresses your ability to monetize your efforts. At the end of the day, you only have to worry about your personal integrity. I look forward to your insights in the future! I also use the information gained as a part of TEN when showing my EV at local Drive Electric events. So please forget the ones that post stupid %#@^%. your chanel is very appreciated by the other half, you bring us some very good content. videos like this one focusses the issue on your personal life and frustrations, which in my book, you should avoid,. pretty much half of americans who voted, did so for Donald Trump, which tells you a lot about the education system in the good ole USA. So please focus on your content and forget the morons, your health depends on how much you care for that half that dont care about yours. It's okay to be political, make political statemens, offer political positions when there exists an active vein of politics that is threatening the survival of the species AND LGBT folk. Let's not worry too much about being political when there are such movements afoot.

I enjoy watching your content and want to say you and your team are doing an AMAZING job. Please don't give the haters and mean people airtime. One of the many reasons people are mean and narcissistic is they don't have the talent and skill to do what you do. From my view point you are a happy, smart and creative person. I used to have a customer base of around 2000 and provided a daily service to them. I used to think that if 1% were "nutters" that would mean I had about 20 of them. You got a much bigger problem. You just got to move on, and other readers will recognize the nutters.

Hi Nikki I've been following your for almost 10 years and enjoy the channel. But everything has an end date. Your health is the most important thing you own. Maybe it's time for a spring clean? When you analyse all the work you do what makes the most money for the least effort, there is always"mission creep" in every business, at some point you end up with a lot of unnecessary baggage. As you get older your personal life becomes more and more valuable because you have less of it. But while you're healthy we all ignore that that fact. Do what is best for you and your wife first, everything else is not that important. Your channel is not going to get bigger after all these years, wasn't you happier in the earlier less complicated years?

A couple of points: 1) I asked God to let me know if anyone in the youtube comments was entitled to speak for them. So far nobody has been mentioned. 2) Politics is how we decide important things in a free society. The alternative is violence. I will take politics any day. 3) This 3rd line is just to make a point.

I feel that you have the right to ban hate speech of any kind. If they don't want to or dislike you and yours they can get off of your channel and leave you be. I like the context of your videos and over all enjoy it. Keep up your chin and keep going. I don't have a problem with you pushing a add of EV items.

The right to free speech DOES NOT extend to the comments section of a RU-vid channel. Some people really need to read the Constitution.

when you ban someone, do you tell them why? i ask because some channels have banned me, and no-one is willing to tell me why. very frustrating! PS. being banned (especially for no reason) is one of only a few reasons why i unsubscribe from a channel.

Free speech allows saying anything, but also comes with consequences like being ban if you only use it to spread hate(absolutly deserved)

I fully support you banning people who have no respect for fellow human beings. We all have different opinions on varying subjects and people should just respect each other’s point of view. I might not agree with some statements on this channel however saying so I totally respect this channel’s views even though they are not shared by me at times. Generally this channel does a superb job and the entire team deserves better and should not have to deal with horrible people on platforms like this.

The viewers and honest commentors need a level of protection from personal attacks in order to provide honest opinion. We can all provide honest opinion and fact without personal attack. We can show mutual respect. Those who disrespect others in public forum deserve none. Ban them as you see fit. They can all go to "Truth Social" and disrespect each other over there. Good riddance.

Totally agree that hate speech is not free speech. Also, YT does some of its own "moderation" without the channel owner's action.

Not your job to give people 2nd chances. Block them or ask us regular supporters to report them.

I just don't understand where these people who hate come from, why do they hate. I can only think that they have some mental diffidentsey or problem and they need someone or something to hate to make their life tolerable.

There is a big difference between hate speech and free speech. Hate speech or any personal attacks should be an immediate ban no second chances no questions or explanation needed.

Think about doing more community moderation with a trusted group and pay them in swag or something.
