Defintely do more of these Garrett, don't even think about.. Easily one of the best videos yall have done, and being that you are using affordable clubs, it's relatable to alot of your viewers!
Thank you guys for coming out, and we appreciate the love. Thanks for making Calvin’s day. It’s been the talk of the course for the past couple days and it’s very much appreciated, we’d love to have you guys out again sometime!
God has much love and plans for u. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and the only way to Heaven. All we have to do is accept him as our Lord and Savior✝️
i think this should continue, you started with 1k, go to local tournaments and use the winnings on your budget for a part 2, so on and so on until you are top of the line again

@@Astro_Sama idk where the hostility is from. some peopl are genuinely nice. might as well make it a two way profit and record it so everyone get something.
I love the fact that they play am everyday, normal muni course like this and have just as much fun as they do when they play something like Olympic Club. Just two great friends playing a game they love.
I don’t think they everrrrr complain about them either. Like I saw the greens were aerated and immediately anyone I know would have complained. Garrett proceeds to just roll in his putts 🔥
For me this is the best one you've done so far. You've just shown you don't need to spend a fortune to play golf. . You both looked so relaxed and you seemed to have more fun because you had no high expectations of the round. Big thumbs up from the UK.
Inspiration definitely has to come in part from Strapped produced by No Laying Up. They definitely deserve a mention here and for people to check them out, amazing production quality and content.
@@tuanoful Some people are just really athletically gifted. Not only that but it sounds like his dad knows what he's doing, so he had better than average instruction even as a kid.
I am completely obsessed with your videos. Your content is incredible and very entertaining. I am a 53 year old from California and just started playing regularly this year. Thank you for all you guys do to keep my obsession with golf going. Dan
my exact thought! And a total missed opportunity for the guy, really could have capitalized on them filming and for sure could have got some business. Instead he was just a prick
I have been watching you for years. When you would play at your home course in the winter during snow days. To play a regular course and see the reaction on those guys face. Love it pal! You keep it up. A true good good fan!
Absolutely. A good golfer can play with objectively bad clubs. Though I will admit, I gained 10 strokes after buying proper Driver/Irons and getting fitted for them (Mizuno ST190 Driver/3 Wood and TaylorMade RBZ Tour irons). All slightly used, in total spent around 600$, another 350$ getting them fitted for me. And my next 5 games were all around 10 strokes less. I am a terrible golfer, and on playing 9 holes, usually getting 53-56 strokes. Now im shooting in the mid 40s, having changed nothing. Just that the clubs are fit for my height and swing. I am much more consistent and right where I want to be for just playing for fun on the weekends.
Such a great idea to look at such a challenge to look through the lens of a limited, fixed income person who likes to golf, but doesn't get out often. I love you even more Garrett with this challenge. You don't have to be earning 5 digits to know how others are struggling. Hey, even Grant said with thr food purchases that it's life. Inflation is killing us!
What about the looser gets to upgrade that way one person doesn’t streak ahead with wins and better clubs, just a thought but I do agree this would be an awesome series
You guys are really showing that it's more than the clubs you play. Very impressive how fast you adapted to the different weights and flexes. I enjoyed the whole process - especially the surprise giveaway.
This was so neat to watch. I grew up not to far from there and when I heard "Painted Hills" I thought no way.. Thanks for great video and for stirring up old memories..
irrespective of all the golfing content...the Calvin first meet up right up to you giving him clubs..is priceless, it elevated me to heights that gives me absolute faith in people...beautiful video x
just recently started playing golf again after not playing since my childhood where i played a lot due to my grandparents golfing alot, these videoes gives me so much joy and is helping me get back into golfing again! thanks
@@addisonking3202 Yes because its Biden's fault gas prices are high in the UK.... See, this is where a smart person would and 2 and 2 to realize that the US president has very little control over global gas prices. Alas, we're clearly not dealing with a smart person.
I went real cheap getting back into golf, I decided to switch from left to right hand . Re gripped my dad's spare irons which were 1977 slazenger blades . Got a good putter from a golf exchange. A hybrid and wood from a buddy selling his dirt cheap cause he didn't like them and picked up a clean used Callaway Diablo driver .to finish it off I bought the Wilson harmonized wedges . I put the same grips on all of them and feel super confident this year
Y’all should Collab with StackedGolf in Florida. They would’ve absolutely killed if for you 😂. Probably would’ve went home with a full set and a Scotty Cameron on this budget.
@@Glukh Why would they use clout? They’d help them cherry pick setups at pawnshops and garage sales. You think GG has a Clout “clout” and a huge fanbase in retirement communities and pawnshops?!?? 😅
Love this video! Just about a month into golf. I got a top flight set from Dick’s for about $279. Just about every club I need for now (D, 4&5Hybrid, 3 Wood, 6-9 Iron, wedge and putter).
love this concept! you could work the budget higher or lower, add restrictions, try to stay with a specific brand. As you are choosing your clubs, there should be graphics that show the price of the club + your current total to make it easier to follow. Ya'll are killing it!
I love the idea of this challenge. my dad always told me growing up - "It's not the wand, it's the magician" proof right here that the quality of the clubs dont really matter
My wife and I really enjoyed both parts of this video. Super fun content! She’s new to golf and loves your content. Your videos are definitely getting her excited to improve and play which is awesome! Since she’s new we’re slowly trying to piece a bag together for her. So this video was great for her to see how well older clubs play. One problem we’re running into is it’s hard to find quality used ladies clubs where we live in California. Especially ones that don’t break the bank. Newly married couple so the bank part is definitely a factor haha. So if anyone has any quality used club suggestions for her it would be much appreciated.
Check callaway preowned. For women a high lofted fairway 7-11 wood (like an xr, hot, hot2, cobra biocell, f6-7, etc), an 8 iron (like a big Bertha hollow body iron 2014+ year), a sand wedge, and a putter is all you need to start. Maybe a good old 12 degree driver. Can be pretty old as long as it’s a high quality brand. Like even old titleist 907 D2, ping G2, Cleveland launcher, etc work well. Make sure they’re ladies light clubs. If you are up for building clubs you can find shafts and heads separately and epoxy them.
I believe it was his first 18 hole round his actuall 1 time playing was a par 3 course (made a hole one...nuts) but im sure he probably play a little prior to playing that 18
Videos like this stop me from going out and spending all that money on brand new clubs, though it does hurt to see you guys play better with older clubs than mine. Just means I need to keep grinding! Great video as always!
But were the golf bags, and cart added to the budget? 😂 As always coming out with banger videos! The vibes are unreal I wish I could have a friend group as loyal as you guys to golf with.
@@BrandinoTheGreat21 the cart is acutally included in the fee at all my local course theyll knock off some money if you walk but a 25 dollar twilight tee time where im from includes the cart
Local course I play at is $34 a month then $17 to play including cart and free range balls; only restriction is 2pm and after tee times or range. For those prices I can play 3x a week and not break the bank.
Genuinely your best content to date. I've always wanted good good to do something similar where each person has their own budget for clubs for the year that they pick up second hand (even cheaper then $400) and play with them for odd challenges throughout the year. Each time you do a road trip you head to thrift stores to see if you can add a new cheap club to your set
I just got into the game, I love the idea! My only thing is for clubs y’all know what to look for. Coming in I just asked what was the best option to a salesman and they pointed at a 1000$ set. Just wish it was easier to decide what you need.
Love the video, literally just got into golf a week ago copped a 8 iron stix for $70 , rx Callaway 3 wood for $14 , and a ping crazE for $80 and today got a old Taylor Made tour burner for $26. Having a blast at the driving range developing my swing, gonna catch a lesson soon. I think a good pitching and sand wedge would really round out my bag with the essentials. But not in the biggest rush to plan my first time. Pre own has def made the sport more budget friendly only 190 in the hole.
