Want to Retire in Mexico? Check Out Our FREE Retire in Mexico Guide bit.ly/3Zg25tg What if you could retire sooner?
That's exactly what Paul and Sue did! And they want to share their experience living in #mexico
Sue and Paul, originally from Texas, had always dreamed of living overseas. But when their plans to move to Panama didn't work out for them, they started looking to their neighbors south of the border.
Originally, they had moved to Huatulco on the coast of Oaxaca but after a few months, they decided to move to La Cruz Huanacaxtle, a small town in the Bay of Banderas. Far from the tourist crowds, but close enough that they can easily visit Vallarta or any of the surrounding beach towns.
In this video, they share their experience living in Mexico, the culture shock they experienced, how they are able to retire sooner by moving to Mexico, the differences between Huatulco and Bay of Banderas, golfing options, rental tips, their healthcare options and costs, and whether they feel safe in Mexico or not.
These are their monthly expenses (in USD)
2,000.00 Rent
150.00 Pool maintenace
50.00 Lawn care
100.00 Housekeeper once a week
12.00 Water
50.00 Electricity
25.00 Mexican cell
55.00 Internet -StarLink
67.00 You Tube TV
100.00 Gasoline for 2 autos
400.00 golf - 4 rounds for 2 people
350.00 Groceries
400.00 eating out
70.00 TMobile US service for 2
220.00 Medicare supplement for 2
Total 4,049.00 for two people

Great video, very informative. And remember folks: Mexican people are very welcoming but please shop local and support the local economy. Also, yes! There are traditions dating back centuries, fire works during patron saint festivities, etc.. it’s all part of the charm. Get used to it. Please don’t try to turn Mexico into the 🇺🇸. That’s what you’re running away from, so please adapt and respect the local customs. Welcome to my beautiful country!! ❤️🇲🇽

I enjoyed staying in Huatulco and hope to return. I usually stay in Puerto Vallarta. We plan to move there more permanently. I knew P.V. when it was just a small village, so Huatulco will grow and offer more infrastructure before too long - and it's cheaper, too. The roads are excellent in Huatulco and P.V. gets very crowded during high season, but I enjoy expats around, too, so it's multi-cultural and P.V. is very encouraging - certainly, I feel very at home in P.V. and especially the Romantic Zone. Heck, I'll need a place ideal for the dogs, too - our one dog is from P.V. and was a street dog, but she's the BEST dog ever - we treasure her!!!!

So love hearing from people who live in the towns/cities, how they have adapted to Mexican life, and the things they love. We have a son in Georgia. We will be retiring to Queretaro in less than six months! We are moving from south Florida and can not wait to get out of this sauna! Queretaro is know as the land of eternal spring. 98 percent of the homes do not have ac or heat! They do not need it praise the lord! In south Florida, from April until late October, people lock themselves in their houses like northerners in the middle of winter. No one goes outside or the the beach, only tourists!

Look at Lake Medical out of Chapala to use your Medicare at many of the hospitals in PV area. It doesn't have a premium. You go to the hospital, present your card and they bill your Medicare. No money out of pocket. This is a great program in many areas of Mexico and an extensive list of hospitals and Urgent care facilities. They have many US or Canadian insurance companies that they deal with.

I fell in love with mexico in 1988 and traveled back for several years trying to create a way that I could live there part time and part time in USA..I could not accomplish it. Ended up working in US and it's retirement time now. I'm old now and have kept up with the cartel news, also spoken to people who travel regularly to Mexico, and it's left me with feelings of not knowing if I'm safe if I go there to retire. Moreover I have 2 cats and the though of taking them to Mexico doesn't feel too good. Here Rents for 2 bedrooms are over 900 a month (low side in a safer than most area). Utilities in winter range 200 per month. Life is very expensive. I'm happy for you two and you are great.

We ended up finding the perfect place in Bucerias but go to La Cruz often and we often put our boat in the harbor there for a week or two at a time. I too thought Nuevo was way too much like "Florida" but I do ride my bike there four or five times per week because it has the best roads in the area. Hi 😊 we have been to Hautulco and loved it but not 100% sure where we will move in 2023 when we retire...I did love that cabs were extremely inexpensive in Huatulco and they were set prices and they were everywhere. So many places are charging high fares now to go 10-15 min away...how is it where you are?? (we may not buy a car for 1st year after moving) thanks!

Very encouraging. The monthly income requirement for Mexico keeps going up. I’m wondering how long they let people keep coming back under the temp or tourist route until one’s social security might kick in.
@MexicoRelocationGuide
@MexicoRelocationGuide Год назад
It’s kind of hit or miss whether they will deny you entry if you come to México as a tourist too many times That’s why residency exists and that’s why we recommend applying while you qualify 😀

Thank you Pablo and Susana for giving me a peek into your lives in your new environment. I am from Southern California. Once again, thank you, Mari. My only fear now is that I will die before my 9 year old granddaughter finally rejects us for being old people. I am waiting for her to get tired of us so that I can explore Mexico with no guilt feelings. 😊

You learned the key to Mexicans heart. Any kindness to their Children is so appreciated. I bought Ice cream to for the Children in my Aunts neighborhood and all of a sudden I was invited to their home for coffee and warm tortillas lol. I remember their kids on Christmasd a coloring book and crayons,Jack's and yoyos ,a girl's purse or a Tshirt for boys. They aren't asking for a handout it just in their friendly nature to be grateful and considering. You still see kids playing rag and ball outside. But slowly but shurly as more modren things like phone and the internet is integrated into Mexican youth I see less and less of the simple pleasures going to the wastside for technology. Kind of sad.

Love your video a lot of great information! Can I ask what is the rental for a 2br in the area u guys are staying in, my sister retired to Alamogordo NM. for a poor town I can’t believe how expensive it is to live there. I have visited many times taking the train, into El Paso TX. Mexico is right there with the border, right next to train station and Airport, she wants me to move there but I can’t afford it, I was thinking about moving to Belize, but I had a friend that moved there, had a health issue had to return to the states, so now rethinking Mexico and I would be close to my sister…Best Of Luck U Guys Look So Happy
