Congratulations on your new Lifestyle camper guys. We bought our Reconn2 in 2020 just before the CV19 hit. Very happy with it. Longest trip was 3 months and 16000kms with lots of average dirt roads. Only recommendation is get a Stone Stomper and treat the awning as a lightweight sunshade. We have trashed one dometic awning due to wind in the past 3, 1/2 years, no other major issues or problems with our Reconn2. The ISI bicycle rack seems to be the best solution if you want to take a couple of bikes with you. Happy travels 😀👌.

Thanks so much. Some great tips there which we appreciate greatly. Yes we will be ordering a Stone stomper asap once we can measure as would really like to not even do a single trip without it. We have never had an awning like this before and to be honest I think they all look a little vulnerable 😂 and I am quite risk adverse when it comes to things like this so great advice. That long trip sounds epic. Where is your favourite place you have taken your R2?

@RoaminintheRobbo sorry for your loss. That shit disease touches us all. We lost a mate just before Christmas and one of Leisa’s mates is going through chemo at the moment. We are heading to it so you can live vicariously though us and all the other that will be there.

One tip, cancel the Lifestyle supplied anti flap kit and buy the aussie traveller brand, its signficantly better design, easier to use and a bit cheaper, add at least one aussie traveller curved rafter to support middle of awning, Im a Lifestyle camper owner.

Welcome it’s awesome that you are here. We are so excited for the van and can’t wait for our big life change to start but heaps to do before then 😁 There are a number of remote communities we plan to explore but an example of a trip that will be about 10 days off grid will be doing the Simpson Desert via the Madigan Line then onto Hay River down to Birdsville. Could do that quicker but we have some things planned during it and also just to take our time and enjoy the desert and the experience. Biggest thing for us was the ability to remain off grid even to just give us option to stay away from infrastructure as long as possible.

Thats whats interesting about you tube, you will allways get different opinions regarding set up, cost, quality, and all the other issues regarding safe outback travel. No one set up is good for everyone. I have seen cheap vans do a great job and expensive vans causing grief for there owners and visa versa that was on our (2016 Cape York trip). Personaly I would leave the van in Cairns and use tents for the rest of the trip, if I was towing. Great video explaining things.👍👍

Yep agree. We have seen 200k vans towed by 200k+ American trucks stuck on side of the road. We have also seen cheap vans busted. Think maintenance and common sense is king personally. Places like the Cape and the Gibb etc are punishing and expose any weakness. We took our original Lifestyle 360 camper up the OTT to Cape York and had no issues. We do maintain our gear so I think that makes a big difference. This camper will be going to the Cape 😁

Congratulations. I have had the chance to check out a Reconn and they are incredible. When you look at the quality and craftsmanship they quickly make the most sense. Very jealous and cannot wait to see the build up to you getting it.

Thank you. We love it and agree after we spent a lot of time looking at everything on the market the Lifestyle brand really stood out for its quality and intelligent designs. Even simple things like the water tanks not exposed underneath and tucked away inside safe from damage. Can’t wait to take everyone along for the ride.

We love the Reconn. We were interested to see Lifestyle announced the 50/50 Aust/Chinese Fusionn with pretty much all the same stuff or more for $33,000 less...

Yeah the Fusion is almost same spec as what we have ordered. If we didn’t have weight restrictions we would have seriously considered it. Bonus we would have it sooner and could head off later this year then.

We have been told to expect 1900-1950. The difference allows for more water hence longer off grid. Plus for us the extra height of the Fusion is also not ideal for the way we want to travel especially on the really rough remote trails. Personally I would love the extra length just for more space inside when there is crap weather especially the dinning area. But it’s about compromise thinking of the bigger picture. What can do you have currently? Are you looking at a Fusion?

Hey guys thanks for your work on this van exersise its was great, just wondering did you check out any of these and if so please give me your comments. Our Lost Trak 18.5ft Hybrid Tourer From Rynomax, Zone with the near expadition series and my dream unit Bruder EXP-6 Mk2. Cheers.

Hi 👋 hope it helped in some way. I will start with the Bruder EXP-6, wow they are amazing and a lot of cool tech. Really like them a lot but they are just too big and heavy for our set up. But wow 😮 The Zone also like them but again too big and heavy for us but we know a few people with them and they are a nice van. Due to size and weight never got onto our list as a serious option sadly. If Jeep ever bring out a Gladiator with decent towing capacity I would look at these but more likely to go a Bruder. The Lost Track we considered the 16ft due to our restrictions but too tall for us as we want to try keep as close to the height of the Jeep so we don’t limit tracks we can go down. Can’t give much feedback on this one sorry never really go far on our list. Hope that helps and thanks for reaching out, let us know which way you go would love too hear.
