I'm headed out in three weeks with my former Army buddy for 30 days.. road trip. Leaving Texas. Calrsbad, GRAND CANYON, Las Vegas, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Sturgis, Mt Rushmore, Branson and everywhere in between. Two old Army Vets. Taking tents and camping stuff. We are 55 and 57. Old kids on a adventure.
What..no saddlebags...oh Meg.. this needs to be rectified right away... when it comes to flying pests...on a ride from Wichita to Seneca Mo. I rode right into a swarm of bees imagine that... It was summer and hot so I had bees inside my t-shirt I was stung 11 times... imagine what people going the opposite direction thought as I was grabbing and pulling on my t-shirt trying to keep from getting stung...I really enjoy hearing you giggle and laugh...makes life good...
Looks like a great place to visit! Imma have to do that ride before the riding season gets to cold. I need to buy one of those trailers from my bike so I can set up a tent. That looks like a great place to ride then set up camp.
The gnats sound like those found in GA. In the heat of the summer they are everywhere and you just can’t get away from them. I am with you on the helmet. I were a 3/4 so I can enjoy the wind in my face. I will be going to the scorpion 3/4 with the drop down sun shield and removable chin guard. Will just wear the chin guard when it starts to rain. Stay safe and keep riding.
Mag, The views are great! Nice ride and some great tips along the way, you look comfortable and much more confident each ride. Well Done!!! You handle yourself very well on your bike. Isn't it fun to explore? The unknown on each trip is part of the fun of it actually, it is fun to chart a little bit of it yourself, let's you know that it is not terribly travelled. I would ride with you for sure! You are fantastic keep up the good work!! From Maine, as always Ride Safe and hello to Cameraman too!
Thank you! I love exploring! That’s one reason we are doing this channel. I’ll say “hi” to cameraman for ya. Ride safe and perhaps we’ll meet in person one day!
Very cool ride, 220 is a great road; my mom lives up in central PA, on a trip up there a few years ago I told my brother (who lives with her) that I wanted to see the Gorge, he said sure, we got back 300 miles later (he rode one of his ZRX's, I was on my Bonnie that trip). If you haven't seen it, Hyner View State Park (which we stopped at on the way to Pine Creek Gorge) is well worth seeing, great overlook (with a hang glider launch, they land across the river). About another hour or so west from Pine Creek Gorge is Kinzua Bridge, went by there (after revisiting the Gorge) year before last, 400-mile round trip from mom's place (on the Daytona that trip). Know what you mean about back roads, I've taken I 81 and 80 up there (once), more usual route is 15/11, but last time I said the hell with all that and used a bunch of PA state routes, turned a 250 mile trip into near 400 just getting there! Greetings from not-so-southern MD, I'm about 30-45 minutes north of Colin, have ridden with him a couple times, he put my Daytona and me on camera in his "Ride to WV Meet-Up" video a while back (first time he'd seen the Daytona, I was on the Bonnie first time we met up). BTW, if you want a scenic route going up that way, MD 97 (comes out of DC as Georgia Ave) goes all the way to Gettysburg.
Always a great adventure, thanks Meg and Cameraman for another video and story. Half/ Full or none its your choice. Looking forward to y'all s next ride
Good morning Meg 👋 Well I just finished the video this morning , and I must say it is your best video yet!!!! Awesome footage!!! Just beautiful scenery everywhere you rode , and I know that I'll never make it back there , so Thankyou for showing this left coaster some beautiful scenery , just Wow!! 🙂Hey I also wanted to give you big Cudos on the music in this video , I really enjoyed it !!!👍👍 Well counselor only one day to go and it's the weekend 😁 Which means ? Time with the kiddos , and time to ride , so be safe and enjoy your weekend!!
Aww thank you! I so appreciate the kind words and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I know the west coast has different natural beauty but- yes- this is breathtaking! We appreciate you watching! Enjoy your weekend!
Riding Grand Canyon, after setting tent up, walked over to other campers around large camp fire! They were going around circle, each one talking about himself an his state. I noticed that Every one was negative in their views of their state. When it came my turn, I started talking about Oregon's beauty, hot springs, lakes, growing up catching 60lb salmon, they all started commenting about my positive views of NW. They started asking me questions, an those questions turned in to others till I spent hours in the grand canyon spotlight. 300+ lb guy was all excited to walk canyon next day! I've been there/done that, an cautioned him, but he went anyway. At bottom, he's saying he's dying an needs rescued! Couple of us rwturn to ridge, but mule Skinner says, he's way too big for his animals, so guy paid for helicopter ride out of canyon! Don't bite off more than you can chew!
Nice video. I grew up and live in this area. There is 2 overlooks on the canyon and The old railroad tracks have been turned into a hike/bicycle path that runs along the gorge.
Just rode through there Sunday. I love riding Pa Route 6. This time I rode out to Bradford to visit the Zippo/Case museum/outlet. It turned out to be a 500 mile round trip ride. A great and exhilarating day. Would love to explore with you guys if you're in the area again. My bike was covered with bugs, too.
Camped close to there with our camping group as we called it. 5 families, all the men and boys hiked down from that overlook , crossed the river and up the other side. Had lunch and hiked back. Awesome views
Another great video! I thank the both of you for such a beautiful professional ride. I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery. I pray you both ride and stay safe. Keep the videos coming God bless!
Hi Meg! My it is so beautiful there!...cannot imagine how beautiful in person! I am so glad you got to experience all of it on your bike! So glad for you! Meg, in some of your other videos i have commented alot and some things i complimented to you was inapropriate and for that i want to apologize to you! You are amazing and i appreciate all you do and share and i never want to offend you! Thank you Meg! ♡
UK steve . Hi meg the scenery is stunning you have some beautiful countryside you looked at little cold . But great handstand and balance that's why you ride your motorbike so well .. ride safe meg 🤟🤟.
I live in NJ, I own a Hunting cabin in Wharton, PA, Lockhaven is my last stop before we head to the Cabin which is another 1.5 Hrs Northwest. Long Trains, Rock slides, and water spitting from the sides of the mountains. Tell me you stopped at Walmart in Lockhaven, that's like Great Adventure for people who live out there, and you probably got fuel at Sheetz. Something nostalgic about riding 6 ft away from the side if a mountain, with a 2 mile freight train on your other side. I always think about the days when a horse and buggy roamed that area. Truck Drivers speed big time on those back, winding roads, and they don't slow down when they are heading in your opposite direction.
I rode through there about 4 years ago and was pleasantly surprised. Loved the little redhead that worked at Battlefield Harley Davidson in Gettysburg. Went on a great tour of the Harley factory in York .Great ride and nice state
(Ron here)- Awesome scenery !!! My gawd ! Looks like beautiful riding. That cliff by your cabin tho.... yikes!!! As far as helmets, you do you. Stacy and I don’t typically wear them , our choice. But for helmet states we travel to , over the winter we both purchased the Harley Davidson sport Glide 3 in 1 helmet.Full face guard comes off. Has a sun shield that raises / lowers. And the back of the helmet comes off to convert to a half. Think we’re going to like them. Check it out on there site. Let us know what you think of it. Also a video on it on you tube. Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this trip!!
Been there popular place to ride to in the summer and fall. Another place you guys should put on your list is the Finger Lakes in New York's wine county excellent riding
@ 7:21 What a beautiful picture of you, the mountains and the sunset! You need to make a photo of it and hang it on a wall. What a trip. Love PA this time of year. When you get the groups going, I'm on board. Hope to see you all in Gettysburg!
I've always carried and used Johnson Pledge lemon polish for plastic. It doesn't have petroleum in it so it won't hurt your plastics and you can just about always find it when your travelling. It cleans and protects your glasses and windshield. The reason I use Lemon Pledge is that I haven't seen any other kind. Always check your can to make sure it doesn't have petroleum in it, it's the petroleum that ruins your car's plastic headlights and other plastic. It's listed under Environmental Facts.
I thought this is a serious video and then it happened...Bugs! That was it,I was off and then cameraman telling you he hadn't got the hand stand shot. Yet again and cracking video.Thank you.😁🇬🇧
I wear a full face in the winter after it gets to 75f I switch to a half because here in calif. we have 105+f days in summer .the full face does keep me warmer and dry if riding in the rain try on a HJC modular not expensive .great video !
I live an hour north of the Canyon, but there are so many good rides all over these hills(and very little traffic). Next time you ride this way try to make a trip to Bennezet to see the elk, plus go to Kinzau bridge in McKean county all very awesome rides.Me and my wife make these rides often they never get old.
Nice riding! Great content. I use a Tea Bag on my Gold Wing, works great and fits well on that bike, and great for regular luggage too! I live in the Grand Canyon State of AZ........good riding up off the desert floor here! Just keep riding safe and shiny side up!
Great video....as for your riding ability your doing great...I have been riding for over 30 years...started out on dirt bikes at 10 yrs. old & have moved on to big bikes to include drag racing a 1980 Suzuki GS 1000 with a big bore 1085 kit while I was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington State...SIR...Seattle International Raceway in 1982. Now just scoot around on my '94 Dyna Lowrider & '91 Electra Glide. Take care & keep the rubber side down.
That's a beautiful place, thx. That handstand reminds me of the rides at the fair, They turn you upside down to make you loose whatever's in your pockets so they can collect it later ! Can you say, " Spare Change ?" LOL
This is my backyard (Mansfield, PA). You need to do this ride in the fall. All of Route 6 (east/west) is incredible. Also, there is a Harley Davidson dealer in Mansfield in case you need something.
Megs really enjoyed your trip to the Outlook. Is the handstand a signature that you arrived at your destination? If not I think it would be a cool feature to incorporate the HS! I would love to join you guys for a ride if possible. Keep the videos coming!
Looks like great riding on those roads through the mountains. Wow that train 🚂was really looong. Nice spot to stay. 🏕️ Yeah the gravel road did look a bit slippery going down. Cool riding by the river. Wow bug central lol . The overlook grand canyon view was amazing 🖼️ Nice handstands 👍
Another great video. I guess I would have to say I am a true fan. I look forward to all your videos and watch them the day they come out. I ride a Softail Custom but unfortunately I am a loan wolf since none of my friends ride a cycle. I do love to ride by myself but iI think it’s a lot more fun to have a riding partner. Keep up the great video content and ride safe out there. 🏍🏍
@@megsmotorcyclejourney I live 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia in New Jersey. My brother actually lives near you in Maryland not far from you in Ellicott City . He’s a gym teacher in Howard County. Hopefully one of these days when you do a group ride I might be able to join you guys. The ride through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon looks really good. Anyhow I’ll keep on watching. Be safe out there🏍🏍
Hi Megan. I'm glad you and camerman got some good video of pa grand canyon.i rode their it rained and foggy couldn't see what you two saw. Thank you filled the void.i lived in Arizona for awhile the grand canyon their is huge. People on pack mules look like ants from the top.your rides for later on sound like a good idea.id be interested. Thanks for the tour !! Rich.
Thanks Megan I usually have mostly good weather on my trips.not that one. I enjoyed you and cameraman having fun. For you riding two yrs you are excellent. Rich !!!
“Megs adventure “ you really should consider a adventure bike.......then you’d be able to enjoy soo many areas without restrictions! Be safe out there!
@@megsmotorcyclejourney Thanks for your reply, I just feel like all the reasons you ride in the first place, would really benefit from a “go anywhere “ adventure style bike! See ya out there!
I live in the Lock Haven area and the bugs coming of a hatch when you were there. They were everywhere and really make a mess when you ride through them lol. Happens every year at this time.
Awesome video Meg, I'll have to experience this ride some day soon. We'll be visiting Myrtle Beach Bike week this year but unfortunately and with great sadness we won't be able to meet you guys. We're arriving on the 10th of May and leaving on the morning of the 14th May. I believe you guys are arriving on the 14th or 15th? Be safe from the Squidmonster
Pennsylvania does have some beautiful scenery. I am heading up to the Johnstown, Thunder in the Valley rally in June. I have been there before, nice ride from Maryland, and a pretty good rally. Bugs are trail mix for motorcyclists! 😄
You guys have kickstand pucks? They can come in handy when parking on gravel/dirt/grass. Should just keep one in your bike all the time. One of those good to have it and not need it instead of need it and not have it.
@@megsmotorcyclejourney I have a Tecmate puck. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever one you may use. When I took my MSF beginners class the instructor said a crushed soda can will work just fine as well.
Hey Megs some really beautiful scenery on this ride as usual and the roads seem so quiet. I like the sound of Meg and Cameraman’s tours come join us . What do ya think 💭 maybe a new business 👩💼 opportunity ha :D . Would’ve liked to see inside your air B&B though.Cool guy’s their is a big issue with those kind of bugs in Scotland too . : )
Thank you for the feedback and support! Cameraman did think it might be a decent business venture. I think it sounds like fun meeting new people and riding to cool destinations.
Meg I have a possible challenge for you. The you tube channel Tripp on Two Wheels has a video " More funniest Harley Davidson TV Commercials" from about 2 days ago. If you watch it you will see what it is. If you do it I think we would all like for you to do a video of it. Let me know what you think of it. Way back when I would ride my road king in sand and stone, and the sad thing is now alcohol was involved. Just dumb luck. When I lived in Ohio I loved riding in PA. Just about any gorge is worth the ride. Having empty roads is great. Those were some beautiful skies. I agree about the helmet. Until I had my accident I did not ride with any helmet. What a great place to ride to. Beautiful scenery Looking forward to the next one.
🛑🛑 🛑 Great Video Meg👍 I’ve ridden up there myself. I’ve hunted there a good bit as well. Awesome Area. 😀👍 Unfortunately winter ends up there around July 4th😂 ⛄️ ❄️. As a Western PA resident, you also have to ride to the Kinzua Bridge area. The train steel bridge across the gorge is amazing, and you can walk out on to it. 💯 There are 2 Great Summer Events coming up in PA, Hazen Bike Rally June 18-21 (old school biker fun) and Johnstown Thunder in the Valley June 24-27 (great all around fun, lots of folks and bands). The events mentioned are listed on “PA Cyclefish” if you use Google. Both events aren’t far from your home. Keep those videos coming👍 Awesome Content and Scenic Riding😀👍 🏍
Aww thank you! I actually heard those were awesome areas! I appreciate you watching and the information! I’m not sure if we’ll be able to make the events- we might be in Tennessee! Ride safe. 🙂
@@megsmotorcyclejourney We were going to do “The Boogie” in Tennessee, this year, but things came up. Ride Safe Out There....Warmer Weather is Coming 🥵
I rode for some time with a half helmet....but, I eventually converted to a full face modular helmet with a sun screen. I got hit in the face with rocks kicked up by trucks...rocks thrown by large mowers, countless large bugs...but the kicker was having a bee fly up my nose and sting me, another bee sting me in the face and yet another sting me in my throat....I'm allergic to bees....I love my full face helmet...I wear glasses, so this also dealt with that dilemma...Has an inner sun shade and an out screen...so I don't have to worry about sunglasses, and riding at night...it is perfect...I got tired of getting hit in the face with stuff...especially potentially deadly stuff (bees). I do carry an epipen...but still. I'd rather not have to use it....Thanks for your videos....We live in the same vicinity, so I enjoy seeing your local rides... Thanks for your channel...
Instead of goin up little pine to English center to the canyon you should of went up past little pine a few miles and up rt 414 way nicer road absolutely beautiful and would take you to the same place in Morris pa. Also the canyon main look out is nice bit the other side is better, alittle more remote nut same great views
Meg I get it! I have a full face that I will wear but only if I have to. Like when it's really cold or wet. I wear a half helmet 90% of the time. But I always wear a helmet.
Meg, I hate to Nag , but get a Harley clip on windshield . They're great and provide good protection and look sporty and cool. They clip on and of in seconds, literally. I've used them and swear by them. They are Great !!!! Unless you want gnats in your eyes and teeth ? Good source of fiber though ! Ha , ha !
Meg, I'm a fairly new rider and subscriber. I presently ride an Indian Scout as it suits my short stature. I know you are only 5'2" tall, but a lot of times height is deceptive, as it is the length of legs that is the most important. Curious to know the length of your inseam. You look like you have pretty long legs, for a shorter woman. Cheers from Canada.
