It's back. This time on FM24. The DOF save sees us take the reigns at Paris FC, but in this save we'll be taking on the role of Director of Football / Sporting Director only. We'll be handling the recruitment and contracts, and crucially, the appointment of a head coach that will run all matters on the pitch. The objective of this save is simple. Topple PSG and become the best team in France.

Use me as a #GoodbyeGuti button! But in all seriousness, I do appreciate that this move might not be to everybody's taste and that's cool. But to me this seemed like the best way for the story to progress and I am 99% sure we would have just seen another identical season of 5th or 6th place finish under Guti and that will turn people off too. Thanks for everyone's feedback before hand and thanks for those of you sticking with it, even if you didn't want to see Guti go yet! Couple of comments below about maybe adding Guti in as a manager at another club. What about the first Ligue 1 club that sacks their manager? Also, the "cheating" memes are funny. The people that are genuinely annoyed/upset, we are playing as a DOF whilst being limited to only being able to appoint assistants. This is flawed in itself, and I've combatted the OP nature by making him cost £180k-a-week! Anyway, most of you get it and I really appreciate it. Essay over. Love you guys♥

Not necessarily the first Ligue1 club that sacks a manager. I reckon you can make a judgement call and make it the first 'decent' club. There are quite a few in France.

found you last year because of the dof series, its such a genius idea, I wish it was part of the game. I do feel like simeone is unrealistic which is a shame but its your save so you've got to do what you find fun at the end of the day and I'll keep watching regardless. It might be a bit hypocritical with me commenting on realism but I think Ronaldo coming in as reserve team manager with the view of building him up to potentially being first team manager is awesome and could work with any player that looks like they could become a good manager (which is subjective but for me would be players like gundogan, Thiago, Jorginho etc also depending on in game stats.) loving the series though, cant get enough of it, thanks for providing great content!

Guti should stay for one more year, but I doont mind Diego. When I saw CR at the beginning I wanted to turn this video off and never coming back tho. Also it was so nice to see metrics for few seconds.... I have no idea what is 6 foot or whatever, cuz normal people use metrics not imperial :)

Ahh, an inauspicious start Clayts. Really appreciate the comment shout out though, was quite pleased with my prescience! I still think this is the best, or at least most interesting direction for the save to go in and I'm very excited to see how it plays out. Will be interesting from here too to see what kind of players an elite coach like Simeone backs and building the squad more in his image as things progress. Thanks as ever

Still loving the save. I was Guti out, Motta in - but you're playing the game Clayts, so you need to be invested. Not having your defence of Lafont though 😂 - this has to be his last season!!

Thought I'd give this a go as Everton with the -10pt start. After 1 month I holiday to Dec 31st to find a transfer budget of 174m and a wage budget of 1.35m.... 1st of Jan board give me another 58m. Couldn't get that in my normal save!

LOVE this decision Clayts!!! Train CR7 to be the next big manager while having him learn from Simeone (even if they never got on in real life 😂) Your limited with your actions with having to hire him as AM, but it makes sense as a whole, with you being DOF! can't wait for the rest of the series! #GoodbyeGuti

I wasn't sure to begin with, but then reminded myself that firstly - it's a game 😂. And then secondly, in this fictional world where the board, source of funding etc is already edited to provide a story, then appointing Simeone given his PSG sacking makes sense in the context of the story. Interesting to see how it develops ....

It’s a shame there’s not an actual dof setting in fm that would recognise guti as a real manager. Would love to see guti get another job in the league with vengeance in mind, would add a short term story while you’re still behind psg

I wouldn't force him into another team but definitely support adding the 20 proficiency as a manager. Although he might not appear anywhere the chance alone is worth it IMO@@Clayts

I so thought I put my comments in the other videos, but it seems I did it in my head. But yeah Guti had to go. He was great for the start of the project, but the club has to advance to a different space and Simone is the right man. Also the narrative of Simone, leaving PSG and coming to PFC is the best story we could have asked for!! First game was a glorified friendly 😅, he’d come good! Up PFC, down PSG!!!

I have no issue with it personally. You don’t have a proper DOF game option so it only seems fair that you would try and appoint actual managers to actually manage. Rather than only ever have coaches or assistant managers ‘acting up’ in post
