I was sad at the beginning of the video and saw your cat, I was super happy... when the cat left, I felt sad again. I love your channel and the cat!!!

I view Armour of Ardennes as a way to shore up the weakness of taking a couple of physical trauma in a high damage campaign - my party took a couple of early trauma from Innsmouth, and I found that the Armour really allowed for me to tank damage on behalf of my teammates to counteract both my own trauma and theirs.

Can Carolyn take it? Could see it working there if she's getting grabbed a lot
@Jazza889
@Jazza889 Год назад
@@flopus7 Sadly not, since she can only take 0-3 guardian :( Diana Stanley can, though, since it "cancels" damage.

I was very suspicious about Sledgehammer 4. Then I tried it with Yorick, in Innsmouth. Last action of the campaign was me dealing 6 damages to Hydra, getting the red token and Eucatastrophe it! "Get the six damage and shut up, punk!" It's very fun taking care of 5-6 health monsters with just one test, if you have the Eucatastrophe in your hand. 6 "testless" damages at the cost of 3 actions (but you may have two more with the police badge) is cool

Fave: Stick to the Plan, a card so ubiquitous as to be invisible, but so stunningly good as to be impossible to ignore. I repudiate that the card is boring too. Sure, you can slam a Prepared for the Worst and an Ever Vigilant and an E Cache like a normie. But slot a level 3 Dynamite Blast in your Carolyn deck or a Flare in Tommy to get a free(ish) Agency Backup. And all becomes clear. Least fave: I mean, you guys named all the hits. But Relentless is the extra special level of laughably bad that it boggles my mind. If it was Fast and didn't exhaust I wouldn't even play it. Hilarious. Great video guys. Obligatory cat mention.

Stick to the Plan is insanely good for what it does, and on top of that it speeds up draws by 3 cards. Quite often one of your SttP cards will be Prepared for the Worst, which will now accelerate the rest of the deck by 4 cards now. Aside from the main purpose of giving access to solid Tactics/Supply cards on SttP, it really kickstarts Guardian builds, accelerating the pace that they get their key moving parts into play.

Travis has the best picks, the most wholesome wisdom, plus he gives the best scratches!

Hard agree with Travis on 5/6 of the options (Blackjack (0) I hate more than (2)), but every other card there was spot on for me. Bless tokens are one of my favourite additions to the game for a while, and love seeing the Holy Spear getting some love.

FYI black jack is usually weighted with lead. So, it is leather hollowed out and filled with lead. It can be considered lethal in real life.

I could see Relentless being useful with Dynamite against Swarming enemies, because they rarely have 3 health. And with the level 4 Sledgehammer, if you are willing to use the three actions to hit smaller enemies.

I've seen Relentless played once and it was immediately filled by an insane amount of damage by doing that exact thing. Took like one turn for 8 resources. Seemed niche but worked very well that one time.

Multiclass cards to complete the cycle? Armor of Ardennes looks so tempting with Well Prepared, but there are much cheaper ways to get almost as much benefit.

I had allergies just from seeing all that hair on the table, 10/10 Russ video. I've found Trench Knife to be a little underrated - it fits well in a Geared Up deck. Obviously still not great, but I think it's like Ritual Candles where the value is kinda hard to see at first, especially since it happens to be a weapon with all the expectations around that. Like imagine it had a different name and art, you could think of it as "free unexpected courage any time you need just one more damage on one of the two enemies you're engaged with". Or just removing the possibility of that -4 causing your Swarm of Rats to take two actions to stomp (if you're a 4 strength gator). Good for Daniel and Mark, who want to avoid AoOs from Engage even more than other fighters, and will want to take that risky engage more often since they're so specialized that it's less likely the rest of the team can handle enemies/hits. And with Geared Up, it's just free if it shows up. Obviously not good in a two hander build, but with Geared Up you don't want that anyways.

I'll always put at least one relentless in short supply Yorick. If it doesn't discard, just commit it to something. If you're ever at 0 resources when you defeat an enemy, just play the relentless. Then it just sits there and gets value every time you should be feeling bad for being forced into dealing 2 damage to an enemy with one health left. Like if you have to fight a cultist with your .18 derringer or .45 automatic. Then you just discard and repeat when you need the resources. It never costs you an action (unless you decide to play it manually). It never costs you a resource. And it makes wasted damage not feel wasted. Kerosene is also kinda nice in Yorick when running Aquinnah. Aquinnah (lvl 3) and Guard Dog (lvl 2) supported by Kerosene (for Aquinnah) and Bandages (for Guard Dog), as well as Charisma or Rod of Animalism is such a neat combo. Far from the strongest Yorick deck I've ever built, but it's definitely a lot of fun.

Man why does Keen Eye(0) cost 2 and not 0. That's all I'd want from it since I like playing it in Joe and Skids

11:05 I was really hoping Travis would say Blackjack, I remain unconvinced that it was a coincidence.

My group has our own tabboo list and we changed Kerosene to cost 0xp. Now we sometimes take it but usually cut it out after a scenario or two, but atleast it no longer sits in my binder and never sees play

Nice! Now I don't feel bad myself for doing that same thing with that card. We also made "If it bleeds" Spirit traited so Boxing Gloves can grab it

I see Bryn’s fully kitted Yorick with Blackjack l2 and Safeguard l0 chasing Travis’ Ursula into a location with a Shoggoth and then walk two locations away to fail a book v shroud on the last action.

Cat was adorable! Love your guys videos. Just got a bunch of friends into the game and your decks have been so helpful. Now have a steady group and it has been a blast! Sledge Hammer (4) is such a good weapon. Loved using it to smash little guys or destroy big buff enemies.

I think treating blackjack(0/2) as your “weapon” is a mistake. I’d view it as more of a utility card that happens to hit things, for when you’re using 1hand weapons. In a 5 weapon deck, I’d treat it as cards 6/7 that happen to have the weapon trait. I found Relentless to be like investments. Doesn’t look great, but can be a piggy bank for a specific deck. I had success with dark horse Daniela. Her having spare time to play it (as a fighter), and the collection being fast was surprisingly helpful (even if you end up just burning the resources into scrapper).

Straying Cat is the star of the show. Even though its not even a guardian card. 😁

Relentless actually has a use, because Guardian has no other 0 cost assets and it's spotless, it can be played as protection in scenarios that force you to discard an asset.

How do you make 6 attacks per turn with the butterfly swords on Lily?

With the level 5 Butterfly Swords, each activation allows you to make two attacks with it. Three activations is 6 attacks.
