For anyone confused on them being half siblings, that's a minor detail only bought up in the comics. The animators for this weren't aware of this because of how little it was ever brought up and others didn't include it in the animation because of how minor it is. So in this adaption, they're not related by blood in any way and this scene is pretty normal
