It’s okay to be sad and disappointed over an unexpected loss while at the same time making a choice to be optimistic and hopeful about the future. We get the tension and there is no need to be super excited on our behalf. Life pivots everyone at one time or another and the seemingly best of gifts can become a burden. Thankfully true success is staying committed to the spiritual and financial health of your family (and it seems like that is the case here) and not in the square footage of your home. Hang in there, may this be the best decision you never wanted to make. ❤

I did assume, maybe incorrectly, that there would be feelings of loss and wanted to say that if that was the case you didn’t need to feel the pressure to be excited for us. I never comment on vlogs and this is why. You misunderstood what I thought was showing support. I genuinely apologize if that wasn’t clear.

Probably financial issues - owning a home this expensive can be very costly to keep. Insurance and taxes alone. Additionally, RU-vid money is dwindling.

They use to get way more views when I assume they wanted to build. And right after they built views plummeted. Davey is obviously not happy about moving, and April is trying to put on face. Sad but the way of RU-vid.

I totally understand. We have built 2 houses that we thought would be our forever home but I’d move in a heartbeat, without regrets if that’s what we felt was best for our family.

I don’t think people understand how expensive it is to maintain a huge house and a pool as well. We bought our “dream” house and it almost broke us. We moved and rented out our dream home and it’s exactly what we needed. I love that you are following your heart.

I think a few years ago everyone was jumping on the build a new home train and not fully thinking about the expenses and everything else that would come with it. You put so much work into it that it's crazy to hear but I totally understand things happen. Good luck on your new adventure!

I feel you overextended financially and that is okay and then life happens. Because material things really don’t matter in life. April you can be sad and the kids for you placed so much joy for your kids in this house. Your children will always bounce back and find joy no matter where you move.

Yes, I wish they would just be honest and let their viewers know. It happens to so many people. People could definitely relate to them more. Instead let's pretend like they are making this move intentionally. Without reason, I get it you don't feel like you have to share everything. You also have let so many people into your lives. Just be honest and give the reason why. You certainly didn't sub every day for fun. You did what you could to keep some money flowing in.

We just sold our house this month, we lived there for 26 years.. Over this last year we have rented 5 roll off dumpsters. It has felt sooooo good to throw stuff away, sell stuff and donate stuff. I always worried about dying and leaving ALL the crap for our 3 boys to have to deal with. Congratulations!!!!!

Living in the house for a while is definitely a good idea before updating/renovating. I did that, and it really helped my reno and a later addition turn out great!

Like many other folks, I am very surprised at this news, but y'all both seem confident and happy that it's the best decision for your family, and with your positive attitudes, the move will actually turn out to be a big plus in every way! Think of all the fun you'll have making this next house your own home, reflecting your individual, vibrant personalities, one project at a time, no rush. The kids are old enough to help, and will then see the fruits of their labor after any changes are made. You've diligently prayed and are at peace about this major decision and will have zero regrets. When one door closes, God opens a BiGGER DOOR, not a window. Keep on keeping on, one day at a time.

I had a feeling something was going on it just seemed like the house was slowly becoming empty. I think it is good. I feel like this house you guys had one issue like the counter top fiasco to Davey having to fight on where to put your shed on your property which I personally thought was silly. I hope that this new home gives you a clean slate and you can get back to what matters most and that is family. I recently moved into a house that is five minutes from my sisters house and her family and I have family meals almost every week and I look forward to it every week!

if its with financial reasons why not just say doesnt matter idf it is alot of fams getthe ideal homebig and everything you want and things happend and u down size ifit if that then say so not just saying its fun and exciting peopel who say and do thisits usualy what they say dont want toeccept it nopool the kids will miss it and the garden is amazing they wont have this either kids dont understand esp the young ones mooving to a smaller place had pool now not its hard for the young kids

I didn’t see this coming, sometimes less is more, If that makes sense. Our wants and dreams are not always God’s plan. It doesn’t matter where you live, as long as you have your family and continue to have fun with the kids. Life filled with experiences will always be remembered, the material things are forgotten. It’ll be a fun journey for the whole family (and exhausting too) to turn this next home into your palace, good things will come from it, no doubt!

Actually probably not. My kids are growing up. Maybe I’ll do hair again from a salon. Sounds fun! I’ll take a few years to get Frankie in full time school then who knows haha
