Today we stay at the 3-star The Redcliffe Hotel Paignton.
This hotel whilst on the verge of a major redevelopment, had to be on the ‘to visit’ list. The Redcliffe Hotel has some of the best hotel bedroom views in Devon! It’s literally right on the beach and a 2-minute walk to Paignton Pier (see our separate video, link below).
We had heard that this old fashioned 3-star hotel in Paignton had recently been purchased by the same people who created The Bodmin Jail Hotel, which is absolutely stunning.
We looked at the plans online and decided that we must document how this hotel looked, before being transformed over the coming months. In fact, planning has been approved by Torbay Council just this week (end of February 2024).

Yes, the dogs clearly love the beach, I didn’t realise that the barking dog was as loud as it was on the video! Yes, we’re looking forward to see the renovations. 😀❤️

Hi guys, I've just discovered your channel and have been watching your videos from Torbay. Me and my partner have stayed at the red cliff and also at the Park hotel which has now been replaced by the new Mercure on Paignton seafront. We now stay at the Belgrave sands over in Torquay just by the Curly bridge, an excellent hotel with great service, facilities and staff are fantastic. If you've never been there check it out. I'm now a subscriber and look forward to more videos. Cheers.

Devon Cliffs chalets (was either Butlins or Haven Holidays) had *spectacular* views (thanks to elevation) and a great beach - dunno if the site still exists but it was our favourite by a mile when we were kids

Thanks for watching. We’ve been to Devon Cliffs, which must be a good 9 years ago now. Currently a Haven and I think all the chalets have gone now. Now caravans. Yes, the view from there is stunning. Haven Perran Sands just outside Perranporth still has a few chalets.
