My wife and I were 90's Annual Passport holders. Then we moved to Hawaii. After having a son in 2004, when we started going back HOME to Disneyland in 2009, we decided to do a "resort" experience and stayed and The Grand Californian for 5 nights or so. Well, once you've done it, there's NO GOING BACK to anything else. In the last 13 years, we stay at GCH 97% of the time, at least twice a year, for a minimum of 3 nights. It's not the "best" hotel. But it's definitely the BEST hotel by Disneyland standards! Yes... it's expensive, but not by Hawaii standards. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

So so happy you and your family got to experience the Grand Californian!! We go to Disneyland once a year and we SPLURGE and stay at the Grand every time. Yes, its CRAZY EXPENSIVE, but you just can't beat the convenience and luxury. We budget and save for it each year. Oh what happy memories we create each time - yay!!!

When you stay there and you appreciate it as much as you guys do you 100% deserve it! It’s the people who are arguing with the staff up at the front desk because they can’t check in early and have this elitist attitude that makes me sad. We’ve stayed there twice and I was in awe every second! So happy for you guys

Oh My... the weekend at the Grand Cal.... AWESOME !! We were DVC members and the Grand was our home property. It is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in, and I was a travel agent for 27 years. It honestly felt like "home". No spoiler alerts here, just relax and enjoy. If you can sneak in a dinner at Napa Rose....Oh my.....seeing you both just enjoying this....just makes me smile. Blessings to you both + 1.

What a beautiful video! My 96 year old Grandpa happened to be in the room while I was watching this and he’s not always aware of what’s going on but he definitely enjoyed watching you guys have fun! I love the lobby at the Grand I could never afford to stay there but I’ve eaten there a few times and it’s such a chill setting.

what a great weekend!! my kids loved staying in hotels as well. once, when we went to the grand canyon, my daughter asked when we could go back to the hotel after exploring the south rim for about an hour. 😂

Try the Disneyland Hotel. That's where I stay and it's amazing. I have always been treated great, and when I have taken my grandkids the cast at that hotel have always treated them like they were the most important person there. I love it.

I know that Mr.Toad's Wild Ride is so very cheesy with old special effects. With that said it is still my favorite ride at Disneyland. Yes I know everything else are attractions yet I can still get the same enjoyment that I did over Sixty years ago.

Loved that you had the chance to just stroll in to DCA! We’re from NorCal & usually stay across the street, which is not super lovely, but really easy. For Oogie Boogie 2 (plus a few days) in Sept 21, we got a pretty good deal on Pixar Pier Hotel & used the Grand Cal entrance a lot - gotta agree super fun. Made me a little giddy too. The down side is it’s expensive & we don’t get down as often as I’d like, so of course we’re always jealous of you! But we love opening & closing the parks, so we absolutely must have our afternoon naps 😉 You two look so refreshed & relaxed at the end, love it. Thx to yr viewers who made this possible for us all, very appreciated! ❤️

I was there that night with our grandkids waiting for the parade. You must have walked right by us. I’m in the wheelchair over your right shoulder, my grandson is sitting on the curb next to the bench. (0.16) I really appreciate your videos. I love Disneyland and this may have been my last visit, so I enjoy the RU-vid videos.

The WHOLE FAMILY?!!? YAY!!! Yes, enjoy just being there. We splurged on the whole family (kids/grandkids) going, for the first time, at the DL Hotel. Hubby has been having health issue though so the two of us spent most of the time luxuriating at the hotel. Lots of ways to enjoy DL.

So glad David you liz,and little Sophie were able to stay at the grand California. So funny I was just talking about this with a friend if we were to plan going. Maybe just eating there. Warmed my heart to see Sophie smile and laugh. Shoot I'd go on every ride Sophie went on that made her laugh or smile. Usually when I've gone on certain rides I get those happy memories and moments. It's really nice to see you all together enjoy your day in the park how you want.

GCH was our go-to hotel when our kids were small. ~2000 - 2012. We'd love to stay there again but it's outside our budget now. Super happy for you guys bc it's a great feeling staying there. Hard to describe. But I'm also sad that it's so expensive now. Ah well, memories! 🙂

It’s always great to come into DCA through the Grand entrance! I recall years ago when you could get 3 hours free parking at DTD lot (then more if you ate there) as passholders we would just park there and then stroll through the hotel into DCA. It was great! So casual back then with zero planning!

Isn't it so fun to stay near the parks? I have stayed at both Grand Californian and Disneyland hotels in the past when they were semi-affordable. Now even the hotels on harbor are getting super pricey. But it's so nice to just have a 5-minute walk into the park and back to your room.

I remember discussing kids in the future with my wife when we first got married, and talking about how we wouldn't take our kids to Disney (World for us) until they were at least 5... then my in-laws insisted on taking the entire family when our 1st was just 2, and experiencing the parks through his eyes quite literally changed my life. Rides at Disney with 2-year old's is just the best.

So glad you had a great time! My thought is it depends on yr child’s personality. My son first went at 6 (DL is our park) and tbh it was a little early for him… very sensitive, hated crowds (didn’t realize!) got him a stroller & he slept quite a bit. My daughter first went at 5, 3 yrs later, and ate it up. She could’ve gone way sooner. We all loved that trip tho. Now at 28 my son is totally uninterested, and my 22 yr-old daughter will join me any time she can. She went to a nearby college & until covid made great use of her AP with friends. Husband not a huge fan, so at least I have a companion for my personal favorite trips 😉 So happy Sofia loves it, thank goodness for all of us avid viewers!

I was there Saturday the 16th and I was shocked at how low the crowds were. A Saturday in mid July pre covid were much busier.

I've never stayed on property at Disney. Next month we're doing a whole Disney vacation in Florida...staying at Dianey Saratoga Springs, going to all 4 Disney parks, and then sailing on the Disney Dream.

As an ultimate Disneyland superfan and someone who has unfortunately not been given the gift of being a mommy (hopefully someday soon) there is something so very special and heartwarming with this one, it hits different lol. I just love watching her expressions and responses to everything. I know this isn't her 1st time but I feel like this could be one of the first times she's able to really take it in and appreciate it. It seems like right about her age (3ish) and maybe 8 or 9? Are the prime years as far as Disney experiences go. Everything just seems to be that much more magical for those little guys 😊🥰 I have had the pleasure of staying at The Grand Californian and it's amazing, but again, something very different happens when u add a little person to the situation, it just boosts an already awesome experience into something epic!! Thanks so much David and Liz for sharing and thanks for giving Sofia such heartwarming experiences to have at such a young age. It can only go up from here right? How exciting!! We used to stay there back in the mid 2000's when our sons were toddlers. Loved the location but not the price. Glad I got to experience it back then but never would now.

I can't imagine having tickets to Disneyland and not being there all day 🤣 but we go every 2-3 years. No time to lounge so I don't think I'd ever get to appreciate that hotel.
