PIZZA DOUGH RECIPE
This is the recipe we use and it’s usually very rough measurements, but it has never failed us! Makes us about 4 pizzas with a thinnish base.
2 tsp dry yeast
2 tsp white sugar
1 tsp salt
4 cups plain flour
2 tbsp olive oil
Combine 1.5 cups of warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Give it a quick mix with a fork till dissolved. Set aside in a warm spot for 5 minutes or until bubbles appear on the surface.
Add flour and salt into a bowl. Add yeast mixture and oil and mix with a butter knife in a cutting motion to roughly combine.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until elastic.
Put dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with cling wrap. Place in a warm, still place until dough has roughly doubled in size. (We find the inside of a car on a warm day is perfect dough-rising conditions)
Once risen knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth
Cut into separate portions and roll out into pizza bases (our go-to rolling pin is a wine bottle)
Add your favourite toppings, cook, and voila!
