Did you guys make it to the end to see the pictures of our first anniversary that was also spent in Germany? Germany has been in our hearts for a long time. And at the end things get really silly!
You'll eat the Hamburger the way you want to, I would eat it with knife and for, 'cause it is too messy for me either, and I've got small hands ✋✋ so they are mostly too big to hold 😆😆😆🍔 in October we are going to Garmisch for a holiday, maybe the last one with our son, next year he's doing his Abitur, so no more family holidays then, he wants to study after that, unlike his friends that want a year off
In the question of how to eat your hamburger, me as an old Prussian would say; as you like. Or as our old king Friedrich II. Said:”Jeder soll nach seiner Façon selig werden “.
Congratulations on your anniversary! And congrats on finding a reliable babysitter! Good to know that you have the chance for some alone-time, i'm really happy for you two!
i watch all your videos already.....very nice family....you all should stay forever here in germany.....you are open minded and a big win for germany the next comments to your channel will be in german language...lol
Weiter so!
Happy Anniversary! Just binged-watched your Germany Videos the last few days - I really enjoyed them. It is always fun to see an outsiders perspective on the country you are living in.
I just started watching your videos and you are so amazing, cuddly and everything. In Burghausen with your Kids, I felt like taken to my youths ( 60es/70es), with my parents, climbing the Walls, getting Ice cream ... just great ... keep your spirit an go on the next 15 years an on and on and on :)
Happy Anniversary! The Winkelmossalm is very famous in Germany because it is home of Rosi Mittermaier who won several gold medals for Germany in the olympics - so did her husband and her son! You are lucky to live in such a beautiful holiday region. Even Germans love to spend their holidays there.
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife I am pretty sure NO German would blame you for eating a Hamburger with your hands 🍔😁 The only reason why we eat bigger burgers with knive and fork is that it might become too messy otherwise 😂
Such a sweet video...and a sweet happy couple. Very warm congrats to your 15th anniversary. Times have changed...but you seem to kept your spirit, your enthusiasm and your humor. Great annex as well, not a bad choice to toast with Brut d'argent. Looks like (real) champagne, but it's "only" a good Cremant (Sekt). 🎊🎉🎇💖
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Still made in the same way as the "original" and 100% Cardonnay. Did you really kill the whole bottle? Btw: I had the Brut d'argent Rosé (demi-sec) the other day... nice fruity strawberry flavor, perfect for a sunday brunch or a summer evening on your terrace or in the garden. 😉😊
Macht einfach weiter so! Und natürlich alles Gute zu Eurem Hochzeitstag.
There are two things you can easily eat with your hands: Burgers and chicken. With burgers, it depends on whether you can still eat them easily or if you have to dislocate your jaw - in the latter case, you *can* use a knife and fork. Fries are an in-between thing, I usually eat them like the main meal - with burgers and chicken, your fingers are already greasy anyway, so you can use your fingers for the fries. With schnitzel, on the other hand, I already have the cutlery in my hand, so I use that for the fries too.
And a bread with any topping for breakfast or as a small meal in between and so on. There are more things you can eat with your fingers :-) And a cone of ice of course ;-)
a whole bottle of champagne on your wedding day? I think we all know what that leads to. 🍾🥂❤ Congratulations on the anniversary and all the best for you🎆✨
How do you do this? Every single one of your videos is a beauty to behold, and rivals or outpaces what most tourist centers try to publish. Fun, mellow, not singling out one aspect but focussing on so many sights, insightful, unhurried... the list of positives could go on for a long time. Happy Anniversary, you two. Oh, and I see you two have matured to a dark beer in a Maß, so the one liter mark has been reached. 😁 Gröstl is such a typical Bavarian word. 😃 Couldn't keep from smiling. Hehe, you are picking up so much dialect just traveling around. Nice. Burgers you can easily eat with your hands... unless it gets a REAL mess because it's so overstuffed. No-one is gonna frown at you if you eat a burger with your hands. Eating with your hands adds a haptic component to consuming food that is simply missing when eating with a knife and fork. Niiiice, that you retained the champagne flutes. Yepp, happy, buzzed anniversary again. 😊😃
Congrats to your anniversary! And Germans dont eat with their hands? Burgers, Pizza, French Fries, Chicken Wings, Döner and many other things are eaten with hands by most of germans ;) So feel free to do what you prefer!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife There are rules about that. Normal things you use knife and fork for, but there are finger foods - and foods where we make exceptions, like Phil said. CamaroMann gave a good guideline for the fries - if you eat them as a side to something that is eaten by hand - grab them with your fingers, If they are a side to something eaten with cutlery, use cutlery. And Pizza is here eaten with cutlery - at least if it is Pizza with a thin, crispy bottom.
I come from Munich, so I don't live too far from Reit im Winkl, but your love for Upper Bavaria is downright contagious, just great, please stay as you are and happy anniversary. 👍🖐️ Btw, we also eat hamburgers by hand, however, this is not an ordinary burger like at McDonald's or Burger King.
Its realy nice to watch Your Videos and to see my country trough your eyes.. Unbelievable that in this area one of the darkest side of the menknd has happend. Hitler lived few kiilometers away from the place you are living now. May the open heart you bring with you, heal this dark side of our country. Thank you!
Herzlichen Glückwunsch nachträglich! I like the sequence at the end very much. Kevins struggle with the champainbottle and the drinking of the whole bottle at the end. So funny. Btw I love the pictures you take of the flowers.
Congratulations 🥳🥳 We usually eat Hamburgers with our hands too. Did you know how Hamburgers got "invented"? When europeans settled in America, many used Hamburg harbor because most ships started there. And like you know we germans really love our Brötchen and sausages and meat and have a long tradition of putting meat and sausages in Brötchen. Those settlers who started in Hamburg of course did the same and over the centuries the americans changed this snack to what is still known as a Hamburger. Btw same with hot dogs (Frankfurter in a Brötchen like on every Volksfest in Germany). Hamburg ist still known in Germany as "das Tor zur Welt" (Gate in to the world). Happy anniversary ❤️
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife You NEED to see our beautiful north (Hamburg and the Lüneburger Heide) once. I would get so HYPE seeing that video! :) NOT in the winter though ;)
Happy Anniversary Sarah and Kevin; your weddingdress looked marvelous and the sequence with the champagne needs alittle more practice 😂😂 and this time you´ve had the right glasses, sorry i couldn´t hold back
Did you notice the mountains in the background of our wedding picture? We didn't live near any mountains but chose to have our wedding there. I guess we must have seen into the future that we would move here to the mountains.
Thank you so much for sharing your video! My family is from Reit im Winkl and I live in Missouri. So nice to be able to take a stroll with you through your videos!
Thank you for sharing your special anniversary celebration and yet more views of a most beautiful country! I have a 90 year old friend here in the US originally from Germany. Every time I show her yet more beautiful pics of her former country from somewhere online , I ask her, "is it really this beautiful"? She always responds with a resounding "Yes!".
I remember the first time our son was at his friends house over night and our daughter wanted to stay at her friends house, too. Suddenly my husband and I sat on the sofa and had no kids at this evening. We looked at eachother and then decided to go to the cinema asap before someone could call us to pick up one of the children (no cellphones at that time). Though you love your children a bit of time without them is very nice. Happy anniversary! Good luck for the next 15 ;-)
Every time I eat a burger in a restaurant (not McDonald's) I start out eating it with my hands and then the sauce comes dripping out and then I eat it with a knife and fork, the same way you did 😀
Happy anniversary my lovely guys! The love you share is sparkling in your eyes. The end is so cute. Thx for sharing these wonderful memories with us. Now i really feel like a family member. 😍
Oh, you drank König Ludwig Dunkel Bier. You know, the brewery is still owned by Prinz Luitpold of Bavaria. If times are back to normal and you would do a fun excursion visit Castle Kaltenberg, they have the "Kaltenberger Ritterspiele", it is big, it is fun and there is a lot for the kids.
Happy anniversary! Great time in Reit im Winkl! We are living in Berlin - but spendig our holidays in Reit im Winkl very often. Thanks for your beautiful video!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife Sometimes we take the car - but with an overnight stay - so we are relaxed when we arrive in Bavaria. It's nice to have your own car to make some daytrips when you are in holiday there, for example to Salzburg (It's beautiful - hope you have the chance to go there soon). But often we also use the train from Berlin to go to Munich and then the train to Chiemsee and then the bus to Reit im Winkl. A long journey for us from Berlin, but absolutely worth it. We love adventures by train. Hope you will visit Berlin some days with your kids. Maybe we can show you our beautiful city here as well. 🥂☀️ Have a great time to discover your Bavarian surroundings! 💪 Greetings from Berlin!
Alles Gute zum Hochzeitstag! You are a lovely couple. So glad you worked something out to get to spend the time on your special day, just the two of you.
Congratulations on your wonderful anniversary. And I assure you, nobody eats a Hamburger more elegantly than you. There cannot be a German way to eat a hamburger any more than there could be an American way to eat a bratwurst. Thank you for sharing.
This is the best comment yet about the hamburger. How apropos! Definitely no right American way to eat a bratwurst. Heck, those crazy people might even try to cook a weißwurst on a grill! 🤪
Again: thank you so much for sharing all this with us. Sometimes it takes the view from foreign people to realize the beauty of your own country. When you are used to it, you do not see it…. Beautiful vlog impressions, can‘t imagine anything better in that respect. Very good that you both reserve time for yourself and celebrate your anniversary! I congratulate you to both!! (As you enjoy Dunkles Bier, there is another reason for the trip to Regensburg: Kneitinger Dunkel Export is the best… you only get it there.
Just yesterday, we came back from our vacation in Chiemgau. It's funny to see your video about Reit im Winkl pop up the moment we just have been there. We stayed at Bernau a. Chiemsee and we can truely understand why you picked that area to live in. We will be back in fall (hopefully)!
Wow that really is the thing of picture postcards. Glad you enjoyed your dunkel bier. The hike looked so green and luscious as well. Just discovered you two (and brood!). Love Germany and looking forward to seeing more of it through your eyes. X
Happy anniversary to you two beautiful people ! This video couldn't have ended better ! I'm so happy for you that you found a babysitter so you could enjoy some 'just the two of us' time. And of course the video footage was amazingly beautiful as always. I do love the little close ups of blossoms and flowers in between the greater view which show that you are people who really SEE things with your heart and enjoy every little detail around you. I should certainly stop watching your videos at an empty stomach - they always leave me hungry, dang it.
Hi Grandma K!! Thank you! Haha no more watching our videos on an empty stomach! 🤣 I’m so glad you noticed the flower footage! The flowers here are just gorgeous and I can’t stop filming them!
We are so happy we chose this area. Our town is an especially friendly place. I think we got very lucky in our choice. We didn't know too much about the area when we chose to rent our house.
Ah you're drinking one of the best Beer I had in Germany - König Ludwig Dunkel. Bavaria is so Picture perfect - miss my time there, loved every minute of it. My love for Germany also started with a trip down the Mosel Valley - I had no interest in Germany but then my father invited me on a trip down the Mosel Valley and I was going WOW every other minute and have loved the place ever since and taken many trips there. - The ending of this video was so cute.
