I have to say, I love watching sports management series where it's a struggle. It makes the decisions much more interesting, in my opinion. Saves where people instantly turn things around and become a contender are kind of boring. So please keep it up Bailey!
I'm pretty sure Blackburn's contract converted to a major league deal with a $1.9M salary by being on the MLB IL on opening day. You needed him to be on the AAA IL.
As a Yankees fan I’m still holding out hope that the AAAA legend Ron Marinaccio eventually makes his way onto the major league roster. The man has a career sub 3 ERA in the majors in over 100 innings yet is always the first to get demoted when the Yankees need to make some roster room.
Did not start this series expecting a Jeff Rosenstock reference, but Bailey is based as always. Only thing to do now is have Spencer Strider back on the channel to spend 2 hours ranking Rosenstock's whole discography including all his bands
I have to wonder, with all of the A's top prospects stalling out consistently (be it ratings or performance), if it's a coaching issue or if it's a scouting director issue. (Likely both.)
I feel like, at some point in this, you need to makeup some reason Oakland relents and a new stadium is built..... which is something you can do in OOTP, right? I don't know what kind of patience that would require 😂
I just started my first season today. It’s a little too much for me grasp. Would it be more beneficial for me to start as a minor league manager and work my way up to majors?
Are there any good articles or videos that explain all the aribiration rules and minor league contracts / 'buying out free agent years' I've always been interested in OOTP but I don't get that part of MLB
The short of it is until you've played 3 years in the MLB (with some exceptions) your team can renew your contract, between 3 and 6 years you get arbitration (so you can't change teams but the arbitration panel helps decide what fair pay for you is) and after 6 years you can be a free agent. So if you sign someone with 3 years of time to a 5 year contract you're "buying" 2 free agent years because he would have been eligible for free agency after 3 years of the contract.
hi bailey, i also went from ootp 21 to ootp25. a lots changed. YOU HAVE TO MAX OUT DEV BUDGET. Otherwise no one will develop. So you really dont have much money to play with but its essential n this years game. I notice you often have 10 - 20 mill and try to get cheap veterans, and u havea full 40 man. that just takes too much money, you need to dump everything jnto dev budget
