Something is missing in this contest: noise. Secondarily, the longevity of the fans. Which explains, among other things, the price differences. We could go so far as to compare the consumption and maximum speed of each.
Contact is also missing. As many of these coolers don't get proper contact without a plate. I know we go to GN for those types of in-depth reviews, but it's important. Same goes for fin stack IHS coverage.
@@JamieR contact is nice to see but completely unnecessary since temps are shown and contact is just a way to manipulate temps. but noise is something not shown at all directly or indirectly.
@@morgan3625any liquid evaporates when heated, after about a year or so you need to refill it, also if it leaks then your entire PC is bricked. Air cooling is more reliable due to less complications, also if a fan breaks, you can replace it, but if a pump breaks on an AIO “oops well I guess I gotta buy another one” AIO’s are even recommended to be replaced completly every 5-6 years, air cooling will last as long as the fans, and even past that due to swappable fans
@@renelackner3081 thermalright peerless assasin, USD 30 on amazon, and runs about the same as an entry level AIO, also another thing to look at with AIO's is the radiator noise, wheras fans can be swapped when too loud, if you get a low end AIO and it's loud, then theres nothing you can do to change that. Also not to mention you cannot replace anything inside an AIO without it being severely difficult
@@morgan3625 except for the fact that unless you are overclocking aio's are pointless.. nevermind the fact that in 2-3 years you are better off replacing the aio before a leak or a complete pump fail happens and instead of paying $30 for a fan you are paying a whole $100 for another aio..
PA120 obviously crazy good for the money, the new updated version PS120 is even tad better and about the same price. Also just love the original PA120 silver/grey aesthetics so sleek.
The TR PA120 is crazy value, you have only like a couple C less on coolers that costs thrice as much !! And these 2C don't make any RL difference as it cools well enough to avoid overheating
How about tossing in the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120SE? It has 7 heatpipes. The Coolermaster has 8. The Noctua nhd15, and Thermalrights Peerless Assassin, and DeepCool AK620 all have 6 ...so I would be curious to see a heatpipe shootout between Cooler Master, Noctua, and the PS120se. At the same price as the peerless assassin the phantom spirit could be an even better value if it can get closer to CoolerMaster with that extra heatpipe.
phantom spirit has kinda garbage fans they cheap out the fans performance not until i slap phanteks t30 and silent wings pro 4... boom! its 3c cooler than the stock fan
Decent temps without any undervolting. Running 13600k, at 28c idle / 59-65c during prime95 with Thermalright Notte 360 @ 110-130w / -175mV offset w/ LLC7 and LL4 across the board. Would be interesting to see the numbers in comparison to Arctic Freeze and other similarily priced AIOs. I personally love the Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo. Sleek, quiet, high quality cooling capacity for mid tier CPUs.
The cool thing is that the Peerless Assassion performs even better if you were one of those that already had a u12a, therefore you had a pair of NF-a12x25 fans. My build is black and white, so I had white ends on my NF-A12's. I have them on my PA-120 with a Ryzen 9 5950x on an AsRock x570 Taichi Razer edition. Runs super smooth, keeps things a touch cooler than the U12a did, and the all white Assassin looks sick in my build with black fans rocking white rubber corners. Not to mention the Assassin is quieter with the Noctua fans as well. Super happy with the 'upgrade' even though it was less than I paid for the u12a.
I think there is a very important aspect missing in this comparison, the dimensions of the air cooler man ! the ma824 is as big as a m-atx mobo, it's just a nonsense
that's strange the reverse is true for the Deep Cool AK620 digital vs the zero dark idle was 34 for the zero dark and 38 for the digital- on power lifting the digital is 84 while the zero dark is 86
No RPM specification No dbi specifications No watt test results specifications Bruh you looks nice guy to take beer in evening but u cant just us pretend to trust you like this But still appreciate the effort behind, just next time pls put more info of ur test and u r best
I'm a PA 120 fan. I was struggggling with a CPU temp of 80-100 while running BG3 on just an 11700F... Granted it was with a stock cooler but... you know... Now with the PA 120 I run at 50-60 max. And my case is CRAP for airflow. I'm actually going to attempt to keep using this cooler when I upgrade my system to a Ryzen 7800x3d and much better case/airflow in the next few months or so.
I suspect that they messed up the setup of the Peerless Assassin. Probably too much thermal paste. It should be right up there with the D-15 like it is with other tests.
1:45 But did you guys used "same thermal paste" too? or you used thermal paste one that came with the each cooler? And i would like to see 1 iconic AIO cooler for referans like arctic lf 2 360 etc or 240mm aio. Maybe both. It could be much more helpfull that way.
gracias for the content; you helped me on your livestream of elite 510 build at the start of the pndmk; i was gifted a 2080ti has served me well, but now i want to do a stealth build with sff vostro, my brother gifted me miles morales 4060 gpu, i have a 3900x from elite build, what low profile rgb cooler can i get, size of optiplex sff - peace
Love the video but I think you should have added the Scythe Fuma 3 to this list. This thing is awesome for only $50 and competes with some of the better air coolers out there. Just a thought! Keep up the great work my dude!
@@kuyax101 I undervolted to 219 and in the load (render) it heats up to 87-92. At 253 it will throw off the cleanliness as it rests at 91-100 degrees. The temperature in the house is 30-33. Take for 14700k Assassin IV
depends on the case i think. i have a lian li 011 evo and with an air cooler my 5800x used to be a furnace, now with 360 aio and even hotter cpu (14700k) my temps are staying under 60, with nh12a i was 80 and it was louder
are these noise normalized or how are we supposed to evaluate which cooler is good? Like what use is a cooler, that cools best, but sounds like a plane that's about to take off? sorry, but pretty useless test.
Wonder how many retests it took to rewrite the final script (I can see the shirt changing from T-shirt to polo and back again)? Be Quiet! just announced their new Dark Rock Pro 5 and Dark Rock Elite coolers; it’ll be interesting to see how they may stack against the other ten air coolers when they’re out on retail shelves!
i use 360 AIO from thermaltake with lcd screen on cooler block. Ryzen 9 7950x and 3080ti is on a 280mm AIO. My 3080ti is EVGA FTW3 Ultra, now converted to Ultra hybrid. MY GPU at full load can reach 82c even with water cooling.
would go with a Noctua every day all day and 3 times at night. all of these air coolers are able to keep an Intel i7 13700 @ between 56 and 63 degrees. This is not a competition, its pick which ever one is the best price / compatibility / or that you love. I don't LOOK inside my PC that often, but for $38 (amazon b grade refurb that did have scuffs on the housing that were easily removed with alcohol and a wipe) my AMD Wraith Prism RGB cooler does better for my 5900x CPU. when I go to get the RGB utility for this cooler from the AMD website it takes me to a cooler master website. Interesting. Side note: Wraith Prism does not require the software if you use the Asus software or Bios lighting settings. It works in sync with my Aura setup.
When you start going up the stack of CPUs it does change as does fitment and other things. It was a fun way to show how different air coolers perform and based on what you the customer value make a call on what's best for you.
@@RobeytechLive So I pulled the trigger on the Noctua NH-D15 and I am certain it is the better choice long term.. I am removing my water cooled 6900XT and installing an AMD reference 7900XT which should drive up case temps substantially. Should be here tomorrow because I ordered from Amazon. Sorry I cant wait 7 days, pay more PLUS shipping from New Egg. Shopping with New Egg reminds me of being a kid and ordering army guys off the back of a comic book. 47 days later you get some stuff you didn't order... etc. Have not had good luck with New Egg.
is it better to air cool 14th gen i7 14700k with noctua nh-d15? what would be the temperatures? should I worry abt cinebench r23 stress test, I saw somewhere it goes beyond 100 c, what would be the temperatures if I use an AIO in cinebench stress test?
14700k with nh12a with an undervolt and power limit i was reaching 80c in warzone, now max is 60 with an aio and much quieter, but i put noctua fans on the radiator
@@Delux7894 i would suggest a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 over the ak620, you can change fans on it for some better ones and come at just under 100 usd. for gaming air cooler is completely fine, especially if you put some power limits i don’t think you’ll be reaching over 70c with that cooler with that cpu. plus intels run much cooler at idle so you would have a silent idle operation. i run aio to squeeze just a little bit more performance and aesthetics, but i also do video editing. if i was only to game i’d be perfectly fine with an air cooler of that caliber. if you wanna go aio route consider an Arctic Liquid Freezer iii 360, super cheap and super low temps, i just personally don’t like the looks.
this is why youtubers need to stop testing pc equipment. using an intel 13600k. really. you should have used the 13900k. to properly test the air coolers.
Weird test that two deepcools of roughly the same model had different results. It would be interesting to see a shootout between 4 of the same cooler :)
