@@Mell0Gang_ actually donut made that cut, if you look at James and Jeremiah they move a little bit too. James' head moves a little and Jeremiah's watch changes time. Look at 5:44 and see.
Quick story: earlier this summer, I tried the bottle opener trick at a party, thinking I was slick and smart, I couldn’t get it to work for a minute, I then pressed a bit harder and I broke the top of the bottle neck sending glass all over the ground, I definitely didn’t feel that smart afterwards lol
@@Grenade80 not hating on MKIII Jetta’s, my dad almost bought a Trek edition new, but decided against it and just got another MKII, but I’m just pointing out how they’re trashing a Jetta
@@andyb1653 omg it’s so true, my dad had a mkii 1986 GTi, in the US they still had the 8v engine, so he had a custom 16v engine built in Cali for his car, he took it on all sorts of TSD rallies and stuff, his favorite car by far, and I can see why haha. After that he had a Civic Si, but it wasn’t the same, he proceeded to buy two MKII Jetta’s
Jeremiah’s smile/laugh is infectious, makes me feel like I’m right there up to some good shenanigans with my boys. Great stuff guys, keep up the great work
The old school (non autobody shop) way of pulling out a car dent was to use a toilet plunger like a giant suction cup. The bowl/cup shaped plungers work best and they come in different sizes. Just remember to clean and spray a little water on the dented area for good contact if needed. Plus no chance of glue being stuck to your car or damaged paint.
The hack for starting a car without keys sounded like the “how to get the ray gun out of the mystery box” how you would press random buttons and shoot random things thinking it would give you a ray gun if you did it right
What I found fascinating about the Gatorade in monster windshield thing, was that when the windshield shattered it shattered inward. If it were to shatter due to the buildup of heat inside the car and the cold liquid touching the surface of the windshield it would have shattered outward. Thus I think the video that the guys tested was completely manufactured.
Plus the very obvious outward bulge in the glass in the center, my bet (from experience with creating this for halloween props) is they used a high powered air rifle, I mean you can even hear it being shot BEFORE the glass breaks cause glass breaking like that does not make a loud enough sound to be picked up on a camera sitting that far away if it was a heat reaction XD Plus windshield and door glass on cars have a coating on them to protect them from such chemical reactions. And well just the fact that if such a reaction was possible and dude there took a sip of each one back to back, he'd be on the ground screaming in pain from said reaction going on in his body.
Fun fact. The rear and front windshields don’t shatter. They are laminated glass not tempered. They are structural to the car incase you get in a wreck. - auto body professional
@@FarikoPacer it's usually just the windshield that's laminated. most other windows are tempered. not much of a need to laminate the rear window as it's already safety glass and you generally aren't worried about dangerous shards from the rear. source: I'm not making shit up for Internet clout.
can confirm that the glue stick dent trick does work, though not on the doors/panels, only on the plastic bumpers... prepping the bumper by heating it up also makes this easier
@@scettzvill you can always take off your door panel and pop them out from the inside-out. Get a plethora of convex tools and some elbow grease and have it a go.
@@ragingraven7915 I mean i actually prefer if the ads were within the video itself since: 1. The creator gets 100% of the profit (Hope youtube HQ doesn't see this). 2. It can be a unique ad everytime 3. You can skip them without a 5 sec timer.
You can open a bottle cap with literally anything. Even a folded piece of paper can open one. I am a professional German, I know my way around a beer bottle!
@@raikou889 they did it right, they just didn’t use enough charcoal to fuse into the glass. When maple syrup (basically very high concentration sugar suspension) is spread thinly on a hot surface like glass, it cools one side faster than the interior side of the glass. This allows charcoal to impregnate the silicate structure of the glass and appears tin- bro are you still reading this I’m full of shit cmon.
@@nathanbrinkerhoff5886 I agree. Cleaning the surface wouldn't have changed much. They still had the glue stuck to the car, it was just too strong of a dent to pull back on it.
I actually made it point to use a bottle opener as little as humanly possible when I was showed how to open a beer with a lighter literally the first time I ever got drunk when I was 17. It has been extremely fucking easy. Usually I use a butter knife, and I've broken exactly 1 bottle in 7 years and that was on a granite bathroom counter top at a Hilton.
Love you guys!!! BTW, the "dent" trick works #1 on soft surfaces like bumper covers and #2 when they are left in strong, direct sunlight for an hour or two.. They become super soft and pliable so a steady tug from the deepest part of the damage usually will pop back into place.
I'd have been happier if they did it right according to the tiktok. I mean, it STILL wasn't going to work, but idiots are gonna insist it does and they just did it wrong.
8:00 I use this a bit, and I thought I’d say this for anybody else that has a brain the size of a walnut, like myself: BE GENTLE WITH IT. Glass bottles can and will shatter if you apply too much force. I had to clean up the glass, the drink I spilled on myself, and I even had to clean my car after.
My girlfriend popped my windshield with water. It had a small crack and was parked in the scorching sun, but she was trying to be nice and wash it. The sudden temp change made a small spot into a whole new windshield 🤣
This is a true story. I have also had a small spider web from a bb turn into total glass shatter overnight just because I left the windows up and pressure changes from inside.
An already cracked windshield is basically on a hair trigger to completely shatter. You can easily turn a small crack into a massive one by just pushing on it. That’s the nature of tempered glass. It’s incredibly strong…until it gets even the slightest crack.
My dad is a big mechanic and car guy, and when I've had to de-ice my windshield he said to NEVER use hot water for this reason. Use a cold bottle of water to break it down or you run this risk of shattering due to the temperature change.
@@westcoastpaintball9732 I think Bart probably quit a long while ago. Maybe he found a new opportunity to do something that he loved? We can only hope.
Kinda wish you showed what would happen if you just emptied half the Gatorade bottle, filled it back up with the Monster, and sealed it. If there's ANY reaction, that could potentially explode. It certainly would've been the best way to show if there was a reaction or not. Just to extra bust it.
5:45 - I love the cut, which isn't blatantly obvious. And then they added some echo to the voiceover. I think it's because when you've got a cut, you've got to rebuild the sound from scratch, and so they used a delay filter to make the voice sound more "incidental". They overdid it by a factor of about... like, a lot though.
1967 Chrysler Newport - if you turn on the hazards and hold down on the brake, you could listen the the radio without having the keys. (My Dad: "That's the third time this month the battery's gone dead in the Newport. What's wrong with this car?")
That hack for starting you car without keys just reminded me of the random obscure goose chase people would make up in order to get the triforce in LoZ Ocarina of Time. Ah, good times.
FINALLY, a car mod for the drinking and driving community, built in bottle openers. Now I don't have to dig around in my floorboard for the bottle opener at the red lights. Just open my door and BOOM, bottle opened 👍
There was a Tiktok of a guy sending his girlfriend into a car parts shop for blinker fluid and she came out with a bottle of it. His jaw dropped and he was like, "how much did you pay for this!?" Honestly, it was actually pretty funny.
The only reason the keyless start “works” on that tik tok because that came from a 2021 Honda CRV (which I own) and has push to start as long as the key fob is in the car. Dude hid the key. Case closed
Can I just say real quick how incredibly good the sounddesign has gotten over the years? The D-List is just so entertaining to be different each time. All the soundeffects during the video are so so so well mixed and always on queue with perfect timing. So Fircken Founnaye
The main issue I see with using toothpaste to "tint" a window. Is that when you go to clean it off, the toothpaste is a POLISH. If anything all they did was super clean the window and probably fix a couple micro scratches. Any tinting effect would be scrubbed off by the abrasives with in the paste.
The only thing would be if maybe the charcoal toothpaste is like 90% charcoal? Like lots of those "natural toothpastes" are not very good at being toothpaste and the donut crew had one from colgate which is a pretty well known brand so it might be closer to the traditional toothpaste with the polishing qualities
It's honestly pretty sad that they're advertisement for their sponsors is on par if not better than companies that make their own advertisements like these guys were just sitting in the shop like the hell do we do for this insurance company I don't know let's get a horse and put a zebra costume on it. yeah that's good
And don't forget they don't put random shit advertisements from third world's but they actually sponsor stuff that could be interesting for car guys and Donut fans in general
If every commercial was of the same quality as the Donut ads, I'd probably buy more shit that I don't need.....or at least not write off the viability of products from companies that make stupid ass commercials.
@Bob Watters Entertaining ads/commercials are more successful at selling products than ads/commercials that make consumers question the collective intelligence of the company making the advertised product....
That slime is a fun craft called oobleck. Kids make it at home all the time for school. It's got some really neat properties too, for instance, it bounces like a ball.
Oobleck is made with corn starch/corn flour and water and is a totally different thing. Oobleck changes its physical form between solid and liquid depending on how much force is applied.
I actually got a dent out of my car with hot glue. Before that I cleaned the spot and made it hot with a hair dryer. After I glued it firmly, I let it cool for about half an hour
The car dent thing could possibly work. The thing is. They did it on a plastic bumper. You guys tried it on a metal door. No way in hell it's gonna work on metal. The plastic can flex back into it's old shape. That's why the whole boiling water trick can work as well. But if it's metal. Yeaaa no
It does work on metal panels, but generally not dents with a big crease in them, you need to get rid of the crease which generally means you'll be panel beating anyway so no need for pull sticks.
If the glued the sticks to the top end around the buckled area it may have pulled more of the dent out. But it's not a miracle worker. It will need to be reworked as well.
It does work but also varies on the dent and the glue stick. Just like the toilet plunger trick works on some dents. If he didnt pull so hard and fast it may have held and allowed him to pull the dent.
Corona bottles will break if you use the door latch, so seat belt is the safest option. Some drunk lady opened the door of my Mazda pickup and used my latch to open a bud light. I don’t know if I was more angry that she touched my truck or that she used an opener on a twist off.
Bottle opener hack: you forget your beer bottle popper, and you’re out for a cruise (don’t drink and drive, kids) you can just use your seat belt buckle (ya know, the one that burns your hand if left in the direct sunlight) and bam, you got an open beer for you to sip on while you cruise 🤙🏼
5:52 There is a version of this that works. It's called a "Pedal Dance" in the industry, and of course every model and year of car uses a different procedure, ad it's way more complicated than shown. The technique can only be used ONCE, and the car as to be driven to the dealership, as once it's shut of it will not start again even with the correct key until the computer is reset at the dealership. The car is under several restrictions when being transported as well. You would call in to the manufacturers emergency line to identify yourself (and might have to pay by credit card if your emergency service is expired) . The procedure is normally only given out to technicians recognized by the manufacturer (there's a North America wide data base) , although there are times when the registered owner has been issued the code.
so obvious it's a cut. friggin stupid. what a waste of time. not just my time, but that imbecile wasted his own time for going out and filming it. 🤦♂️
