The judge for sure made the wrong call on this. You can’t just decide to change the lock on someone after a week and donate all their belongings. There’s an eviction process for a reason. She should try to take this to actual court.
I would not leave my possessions with anyone without letting them know of a DEFINITE return date. The plaintiff appears mentally unstable. Why would she leave him for a week with her possessions??
Why bother taking him to court, how petty, it’s very annoying what he did, locking you out etc etc, but so petty going to court, just learn a lesson don’t jump in so quickly until you know him better, it’s just a row, he’s cross you left, so he will get back at you. Also going off to Tahoe with a bloke you must met, is crazy, you could have been a murderer and you left yourself wide open to being raped and loads 9f other things that happen. You need to be more careful with who you see and meet, he could have been a mental case, that’s just crazy.
I enjoy watching Judge Lauren Lake , however disagree with this decision. I have to say respectfully she was wrong. In case you missed it toward the end right before she ruled. He admitted that he did not look in the trash bag. Furthermore how did he know what was in the trash bag that he threw together and gave away. He then turned around and said her Jordans and jeans weren't in there. How would he know what was in there if he didn't look? Therefore he lied, not only that, he gave her 20 min. to look in the house for everything??? Maybe she should've dismissed it or given her half of the rent she paid that month. 🤔
Judge Lake made the correct decision. The Plaintiff would’ve had more of a case if she also sued for Constructive Wrongful Eviction. The Plaintiff failed to prove that the Defendant disposed of her belongings out of spite and she waited too long to inform him of the issue and neither party was credible. She didn’t even bring a list of items that was missing or the value of those items, so the Court wouldn’t have been able to assess monetary damages as is. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Plaintiff constantly played the victim and was revenge cheating even before the week she bed surfed at the other guy’s home and the Defendant’s sister would cover for her.
