Here in the UK there has been a whole advertising campaign about sandwiches with crisps/chips. But now you have taken the first step you have to look up the chip butty and understand what culinary geniuses us northern Brits are.
Another great adventure!!! 🍿 What ever Better Help is paying you guys they need to double it. I often speed ahead through adds on youtube. Your creativity is so good, that I can't look away. Oh, and you left me starving... That food looked so good!!!
From day one I have watched you grow as a couple. == Knowledge, and now more commercialization beating a path to your door helping you prosper as we all wait for Uma to be re-born.== I, was 70 now 79. == Tis a great ride!
Your videos have gotten so truly professional. The way you change scenes and smoothly move the story along is just amazing. I love UMA and want to see it restored, but this is a super way to fill the gap in anticipation of that. Congratulations -- I am an avid follower.
I’m ashamed to admit I’ve had crisps (potato chips for our US folks) and a Mars Bar in a sandwich… yes both at the same time! I had been camping and it was all the local shop had. The fact I’m from Glasgow, Scotland is irrelevant 😜. Oh yes, it was actually for my breakfast.
You are in Italy so try to use some interesting cheeses. Easy replacement for the spreadable "Philadelphia": squacquerone, or stracchino, or robiola. Enjoy all the flavours of Italian variety
Hey Guys, I alway really enjoy your footage, the exceptional B-Roll, the humour and especially those really creative way to present your sponsors - they are so entertaining, that they just fit so well into the story that I am always breath taken! You both are really so encouraging, that I must say: THIS WORLD IS SO MUCH BETTER BECAUSE OF YOU TWO!!!!!! Thank You!!!!!
As someone who has made it my mission to avoid ads, I NEVER skip Kika's and this has to be your best one yet!! Great job - hope you get a click-thru rate that keeps betterhelp on your sponsor list.
Have to be honest. I am thoroughly enjoying your "truck adventurers" as you call them. I love the sailing and never want them to end but working the land adventures in with it is simply awesome. Truth is that most folks can identify with the land travels more than the boat travels. We like the boat thing because we never have and likely never will experience. Many of us have all camped to one degree or another. In earlier episode you mentioned, you got this vehicle (I want one) so you can ship it forward to your boat destinations. A well thought out plan and the best of both worlds. For me, it has ramped up my desire to watch your travels. I very much look forward to experiencing your dual method of travel. Will also enjoy watching you putting Uma back together. So much to look forward to and tuning in.
Wonderful Sardinia, but I must warn you. I've met a guy in the north of the Island who wanted to see the world by boat. He startet in Genova and his journey ended 200NM from Genova in Palau. He felt in love with the Island and never left it. He offered sailing trips on his Hallberg Rasse 41 to the Isla La Maddalena.
You can bank a bit of power by turning your fridge a bit colder dyring the day if you have plenty of sun. Even more if you have a freezer section. Make a tub of ice, and shift it to the fridge when the sun isnt treating you right. 4% is cutting it a little fine :)
Kika you make the best Ads ever! I actually look forward to them! I hope they pay you well. I also enjoyed the filming of the hike and your first fully cooked meal in the truck. As always the editing is superb and you guys are masters of the B roll! Thanks again for the wonderful entertainment!
Haven't done that in a long while but I remember putting potato chips in my sandwiches. You guys certainly have found some beautiful places to visit. And you have a great traveling campground to do it in. Thanks for bringing the rest of us along. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
You guys should consider picking up a gravity-fed water purifier. Spots like the one where you camped are great sources of water (once purified) and the gravity feed is easy to set up and isn't very labor intensive.
Is that the drone that takes all the beautiful footage?! Cameras sure have come a long way! Loved the channel since “I think we got a boat!” Have fun guys!
Potato chips sandwich is called a "Crisp sandwich" in Ireland, made with Tayto Crisps and it's part of our staple foods. I'm so glad you had the good sense to think of your safety first when it came to climbing down to that cave. Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
In Argentina and Uruguay, there's a brioche-like bread called pebete used for sandwiches. When I was a kid, I used to do add chips (or crisps as they are called in UK) to my ham and cheese pebetes. It was the best!
Great episode guys, and the commercial was the best Kika has ever done. Looks like Dan is the "Gallivanting Gourmet!" Camping dutch ovens have feet, sometimes called spiders (to sit above the coals) and with a ridge on the lid that can also accommodate coals. If you don't mind bringing a small bag of charcoal with you for a weekend trip, you can have some fantastic slow cooked meals!
My son has used this method to make a passable lasagna on a cold, wet camping trip before. PITA to clean up, but sooo welcome on a chilly evening at the site.
What about a fold down table mounted to the side of the truck under your awning? It could even have a slide out part that could extend past the end of the truck to create a u shaped galley! Then slide back together and fold back up without taking any room on the inside!
Lovely to see that 914/0 like to dislike ratio. You deserve it guys. Keep it up! Still can't believe how l Edit: Finished watching the episode, thank you for always bringing a smile to our faces ^^
Potato Chips on a sandwich is perfectly normal. My favourite is white slices bread, salted butter, raspberry seedless jam and cheese & Onion Crisps (Potato Chips). Awesome.
Great video yet again guys! Have you tried using an 'Instapot' for cooking? - an electric pot that is a slow cooker / rice cooker / pressure cooker/ steamer / breadmaker/ etc etc all in one. I swear by it for our boat, using solar power for every meal. You could come back from your hikes to a hot meal thats perfect.
I love the truck and how you guys despite being so successful RU-vidrs keep it real for people who cannot afford expensive rvs new camper vans etc. you pick a classic durable legend truck and are using your engineering skills to design highly functioning units that are unique. I also like you chose to do the who refit an Uma who despite her imperfections sailed to the top of the world and safely brought you to this point. I might have missed if you gave a name to the truck?
Similar to the Chips in a sandwich (which was something my cousin introduced me to when I was a teenager), This guy I used to work with in Australia, had something else weird. He would buy breakfast from the local bakery in whatever town we were in for an install, and his choices made me scratch my head. He would buy a sausage roll (aka Minced Pork / Beef in pastry), and then put that it in a plain bread roll. He would do the same with mini quiche and occasionally a meat pie. Never seen anyone else do that. Chips however is far more common. The texture difference seem appealing to people, as is the high salt content of the chips....
That’s Fine Dining here in Texas. I’m glad y’all are up to the task. Just saying. And yes, potato chips on sandwiches is just fine too. If ya need the audio/oral texture just go for it.
Somehow I feel this isn’t close to real time 😂. I have a feeling these two would be pounding away on UMA, and not necessarily leaving her empty while traveling the countryside. Obviously they DID do it, I just think UMA 2.0 is a little further along than we last saw her. Great video (again) you two… always good when a new one drops. 🤠👍🏼☮️🇨🇦
Potato chips in sandwiches are made by boss people. Loved them for over 50 yrs. Also depends on what type of sandwich you have. Better help commercial (Nutz) loved it. Very good video. Have fun kiddos.
When I was in school (about fifty years ago) we used to go to the bakers, buy a small loaf and have them cut it in half. We would hollow them out then go next door to the chip shop and have the halves filled with hot chips (french fries to the unenlightened)..yum the ultimate chip sandwich.
My 13 yr old daughter puts chips into her sandwich. Yup. you're onto something! Also, I rarely have such an elaborate full cooked meal at home, let alone while camping. I mean... c'mon! Too cool :)
Love the new landy ( to you ) and how your solar is working . Thanks again for sharing your wonderful travel memories with us all your over land & water adventures with us your friends . CHEERS FROM STEVE STOTT IN SUTHERLIN OREGON U.S.A. 🍻👍🏼😁
Kika makes the best commercials. Don't even want to fa6rt forward. You were on top of the cave. "Only repel or access by boat." Was think great, get the dingy... Oh wait, no boat 😮 They arrived by vehicle😅 Blessings at catching
What gorgeous settings! I love watching you explore new territory. Even at your age I could never have handled those heights ! Now I'll be a little contrary and say I hope you don't make a habit of all that white bread and chips; )
I have to admit that this video had me worried for Kika. I thought that being on land was having an effect on her but I learned that she has very good acting skills. Dan, your a lucky guy to have such a talented best friend. Dinner looked great. You two are living the dream. God Bless
I always, always say the same thing... You guys are so much fun to watch... I save, your video's to savor like a desert. Sleep well guys, ...and that little dragon, too. 😋
Gotta do chips... A moral imperative! What would be a good chip alternative? Perhaps eighth-inch pickle-slab slices. Bet you could use the thing left outside to get alternatives from all around the world so the crunch is always available to the crunchy salty sandwich sailing Uma!
just silly question but: how do you handle poop situation? I used to camp in total boonies and it required pooping bags which were disposed of later, we did try digging up a latrine hole but learned that pooping bags were easier and more convenient for us sans carrying the bags!
for right now, we use the marina, since our boat is there , (but that said, if we go on longer trips, we have a "poop kit" that has a shovel, a waterbottle and a bidet attachment cap for the bottle, and some small bags to take back with us in case we use babywipes )
Favorite sandwich is bologna, cheese, tomato, and chips, with mayo and a little pepper. Lettuce is optional. Also the personality changes, has me a bit scared for Dan. Lmao 🤣
