Absolutely agree!! Once I have discovered this channel, I very rarely watch other vloggers about travel in Paris because I find so many of the other vloggers lacking in substance and the others have too much fluff. Les Frenchies are my absolute favorite now! ❤
🌹Love your chemistry, Colleen and Antoine. In 10 video minutes, the joie de vivre that you give all of us partaking visually in your fabulous meals is truly extraordinary. Vivre La France, vivre Colleen & Antoine❤❤❤
To be honest, I can't really judge it. The secret to go out for lunch or dinner is to ask for le plat du jour (formule). You can choose between having 2 or 3 courses. Next trick for your purse and for your appetite is preferring lunch as the long menu. Dinner is more expensive. They had a 3 course menu at Chez Suzette which offers a lot for a reasonable price. The price for Le confit de Canard seemed to me reasonable as well. French people in general estimate food a lot higher. Rumour goes that they spend all their money they earn in December for their Christmas meal, no matter which social class they belong to. In a normal supermarket you will find tools to open oysters, to cut truffles etc. That says it all, doesn't it?
@@kenedstrom1556 Parisian prices are quite high (if you compare to the rest of France) mostly because of the location so higher rent for the restaurants especially in the center. The prices that they showed in this video aren't crazy at all for us (I'm parisian). Also the prices that they show is the full price with tax service included - Tips are optionnal it's only if you had a good moment and a nice waiter :) .
🤭😃 I love the way he dances with his hands in ecstasy. Pure joy and appreciation. Those two know good food. And so cute and pleasant to watch every time, with valuable information without exception. Thank you. 👍
My wife and I have been planning for our trip to Paris and Europe and we love watching Antoine and Colleen. It’s now are #1 resource for information in Paris. We absolutely love ❤️ Antoine jazz hands when taking a bite of food. Allez, ON Y VA!
I am totally addicted to your videos! You both are such a lovely couple. I'm planning a trip to Paris (first time) at the end of April and am making a list of all the amazing places you have suggested. Merci beaucoup!!!
I love Paris even more, thanks to your videos...thank you sooo much..could you, please make a video about top 5 steak and frites places in Paris as well as visiting restaurants near the Notre Dame cathedral, the Eiffel tower and Sacre Coeur?Have a great summer,I think you are amazing and I cannot wait to visit all the places you show myself :)
Thank you for adding new restaurants to my already long list of restaurants in Paris, they all look nice and seem to be quite affordable. Besides, it is a pleasure to see you two enjoying each meal that you have.
My word, all of those places looked incredible but especially the last one. I would love to try the pear tart Tatin. I can’t believe your French is so good Colleen, I was amazed to hear you order the meal. Good stuff! 👍
We’ve been in Paris for 4 days . And you are right , the food closest to the tourist attraction is not good. But keep 4 or 5 blocks away , and the food is amazing. Mamaia’s near the Arc de Triomphe is amazing and La Procope next to La Jacobine was the best meal we’ve had . La Jacobine will be our dinner tomorrow night. The wife want the French onion soup you recommended.
Have you tried La Brasserie de l'Isle Saint-Louis right behind Notre Dame and across the footbridge. It's absolutely wonderful. Their gewurztraminer is brilliant. They also specialize in cassoulet. I recommend it to everyone I know is going to be in Paris. After you can wander down to Berthillon's for the best ice cream in the world.
Wait, not a pianist - a conductor in this post 😂 l think the two of you are the best at these types of posts❤ And, l have been watching travel videos for over 40 years! Thank you so very much. Ooops, merci!
You do so much to highlight the loveliness of France, especially Paris. And you have an international audience -- the Elysée should give you guys a medal!✨
I tried cafe dalyarac last week because of your video. Very nice cafe. Good location. Fair price. Good food. And most importantly they open after lunch time. I came back the next day. Thank you🥰🥰
Le Petit Samaritain was on my own list! I think I might check out Cafe Dalayrac too. My plane boards in 7 hours to Paris and your channel has helped tremendously.
@@TheFurlongFamily unfortunately, I did not stop by the restaurants recommended. My trip was overall a good trip. 4 days in Paris, 12 days in Vierzon visiting family, and then 4 days again in Paris. Almost got pickpocketed on the metro at Trocadéro station. Jsut be more aware of your surroundings especially when boarding the train. They’ll sneak up on you. Also they tried pickpocketing in the parks near the Eiffel Tower. Overall the food was delicious.
@@TheFurlongFamily we didn’t do much brasserie food. I was with family who had toddlers so it was hard to find time to do a good sit down meal. We went to lots of bakeries near our hotel, beef tartare from a place called Crucial. Had good easy lunch from La Famille (lots of office workers here during lunch) and it had a good view of the Eiffel Tower when sitting at their patio. We had good ramen at both Kodawari Ramen locations (have to reserve seats on the Skeepit App) and Crepes at Crêperie Little Breizh were very good
Just like to say I absolutely love your videos. I planned a trip to Paris with my mom and your videos helped me out a lot. I followed your advice and recommendations and it was such a big help. Thank you both and please keep the videos coming ❤❤
I had such a great experience 10 years ago as a single tourist, and I'm so glad I found this channel - your videos illustrate the culture in a way others don't. I can't wait to come back and bring my wife.
I love this idea! Sometimes it's not feasible to go from a museum or site to a recommended restaurant across town, especially when you're hungry, so this is perfect. Plus it's a challenge to find someplace not super touristy around those spots so these are awesome.
Hey, my and wife and I want to officially thank you guys after coming back from Paris. We tried a handful of your recommendations including Chez Suzette, Richart, Cafe Dalayrac, and a few other spots and we’re dying to go back. Hands down the best culinary experience on earth is in Paris. Just the slim baguette 🥖 with the baked in ham beats most plates on this planet lol. In short, thank you for your recommendations and thank you for your videos. It really really helped. P.S. - You guys have more spirit than people half your age that I run into a lot around where I live. Keep enjoying! Ty!
It is such a delight to watch you two enjoy yourselves! I’m going to be in Paris in September for 8 day and i am taking notes! Hope to run into you’s! 😅
Merci for another delightful video. You know when Colleen swoons and Antoine conducts his symphony, the restaurant is a winner! I always appreciate the food descriptions and putting the names and locations of the places.
I noticed that Antoine moves his hands when reacting to the food. Here’s my take on this. Love your reviews and will be helpful when I go to Paris this Christmas. Conductor - Good Violing - Great Piano - Exceptional
Went to Chez Suzette today Jan 25, 2024 . Great recommendation. We had the same items you both had they did not disappoint. So yummy. We loved both Savory and Sweet. Thank you for the recommendation.
You guys are terrific! You are the best ambassadors France could have! Love almost everything you ate, but the pear pie/tart at the end was superb😋 😋 😋 Did I suffer or what? 😁 I am looking forward to visit Paris next year (fingers crossed!!!) Love and greetings from Argentina! 🥰 🥰 🥰
Thank goodness I am spending a month in Paris! Your restaurant recommendations are always a must do! I cannot wait to visit all of these. Colleen, I so enJOYed hearing you speak French! I also love the reactions the moment the flavors hit! I hope a meet and greet in July is still being planned!
Very enjoyable episode. Good job featuring eateries near the Louvre as it encourages museum visitors to go out of the louvre for a meal. All look like good suggestions by les frenchies. Another excellent cafe for lunch is A Jean Nicot at 173 rue Saint-Honoré. Excellent food and very good prices.
Paris is my happy place and I have been more than 15 times. I love your videos because they always show me something new to look forward to. Thank you for that! Question -- is your online guide new for 2023? I'd like to get it before my next visit this Fall but I want the latest version. (And thanks for that as well!)
Both of you look terrific and Wow! Colleen! Your French is getting better and better. You know I am a big fan of your channel and when friends here in NYC say they are travelling to Paris -- I always refer them to your channel. I wish I could say I am coming over to Paris but I am just starting an E-commerce business so this is not the moment. Probably next year! Enjoy the Day! ✨✨❤❤✨✨👍👍👍👍👍👍
I adore Antoine’s hand gestures - no words required we just get what he’s thinking :) that last meal looked outstanding - I love your videos and really wish you would adopt me for just 3 months :)
I'm adding these to my list! One of our longtime favorites near le Louvre le Soufflé, 36 rue du Mont Thabor. Soufflé for entrée, soufflé for main, soufflé for dessert. Yum!
Many years ago, we stayed at Hotel du Continental 30 rue du Mont - Thabor ( in fact, for 3 or 4 different trips!) and ate at le Soufflé…aahhh, the chocolate soufflé
I wish I knew about these places when I was there last December and visiting the marche’ de Noel at the Tuileries. I went at the last minute to help me get over holiday depression. It worked. I ❤ Paris. I enjoy your content. Keep it coming.
I love this channel so much! That linguine with vegetables and prawns had me drooling. Colleen, your French has gotten so proficient! Inspires me to keep trying!
I finally got smart and ate Before watching!😂 The two of you give me the warm fuzzies❤ WoW - just received my confirmation for my apartment in Paris for a month next spring/summer. Woo Hoo!🎉 Look out, l will be there!!😊
Okay, stop, stop, just stop.....I am salivating so much, unreal. Where is my phone I need to book a flight. I really enjoy watching your videos a great deal. France is somewhere I have not been as of yet due to the fact that when we are in Europe it generally in Italy, with family, and then in UK and Switzerland with friend who are family. When you are experiencing the food it brings me back to Italy as eating is such an sensual and comforting time. Doesn't have to be over the top but just oh my it is good. Excuse me while I go back to salivating .....
May I say Colleen, your French is getting better and better by every single video, bravo! I’m so impressed! Fantastic recommendations, thank you so much! ❤️ My perfect Saturday morning is complete - thanks to you!
