I hope you already know that Mel's Diner is from the Movie American Graffiti from 1974. It had Ron Howard in it as well as Richard Dryfess and many other stars. That's why those cars are out front. They're in the movie.

Mel's needed a revamp. I'm glad they changed the menu some. The food was not great before and options were minimal. I'm excited to try the new menu options. Great review. I always love how honest your reviews are.

please continue to have unbiased reviews on the food; like the recommendation for more salt. Not many theme park youtubers rate them for real. a lot of them simply give it a big yumm and on to the next one

We always try to talk honestly about our experiences! At the end of the day, it’s theme park food, so our expectations are lower than they would be outside the parks, but we still have expectations! Lol

Universal restaurants are all mostly great. Personal favorites in the park are Lombard's Seafood Grill, Finnegan's Bar & Grill, & Confisco Grille. Still happy that Mel's opened up again and the new menu looks great :)

Anna: Yes! Chocolate > strawberry every time! But the strawberry good humor bars are so yummy and that’s what those crumbles on the shake looked like. Floppy fries rule! That Oreo cream pie looked heavenly! Tyler: The hot dog looked delicious! 21 years ago the ATL Popeyes did me wrong and I have never been back. Team key lime pie!!! Yes to ketchup on onion rings! If you like totally yellow chili cheese dogs go to Cincinnati for cheese coneys. It will literally look like it's just cheese on a hot dog bun. Cincinnati chili is very different from everywhere else as a heads up. There is a skyline chili (which is one of Cincinnatis brands) west of Disney.

Definitely book an OI meetup. I love going myself. Just to clarify though in case you didn’t know, not everything on the day menu will be available during the OI meetup. There are always several options but you won’t have 20 items at one place (except for Springfield because there are like five different places in that food court).

Dr. Seuss style: oh my gosh can you really try everything? Universal must have some great catering!! The big bopper burger looks really great - it didn't last long on Mel's diner plate. So nothing was there ...themed with banana - but we have a new nickname...Mrs. Saucy Anna! She loves all the sauces and eats them with ease....while Tyler eats hot dogs with MOUNTAINS of cheese! His favorite onion rings that he's ever seen, aren't from Mel's - but from Dairy Queen! So thanks for showing us all of the yums - I hope you both brought plenty of tums!!!

i feel like looking at the photos, mel's gives very strong steak and shake vibes! classic diner sort of energy. I will say, if tyler loves chili dogs, maybe one day you could swing by to try skyline chili! its an ohio/kentucky sort of thing, and theres one that recently opened by disney (near flamingo crossings). they give you SOOOO much cheese!

I'm with Anna - more sauce lol (and the jukebox needs to work). Mac & cheese with hot dog in it is always a good choice. Glad Tyler gave that a shoutout. Strawberry milkshakes are my personal favorite. And Tyler's salad shake was on point. The only way to do it imo

Spotting Universal Park News Today in the background. I watched their video on Mel’s already and they completely tore down the burgers and chicken sandwich and the salad. Complete opposite opinion but they got their food same time as you by same cooks. Interesting. I tend to believe your review more. Haha. I never got the hate people showed for Mel’s. I always liked it.

Oh no! We hate to hear that someone didn’t have a good experience! We try to look at things from a standpoint of you are in a theme park! Obviously there are better food options in the real world, but we reviews things from the lens of theme park food which is totally different!

No one needs to know this, but you guys can get those Oreo and Hershey's pies like they used to have at Burger King at the grocery store! They're the Edwards brand pies. (I try to forget this information whenever I go to the store so they don't come home with me. There's a lot of sugar in them.)
