I was pretty sceptical about your Mexico plans. But it’s really great to watch a video that doesn’t involve vehicle breakdowns. The amazing videography and editing, your engaging personalities, flying by the seat of your pants…it’s what you do best!
Thank you! We've been so happy (and honestly so surprised) that the old gal's gotten us around without any troubles. It's been a lot of fun just enjoying the adventure and making plans as we go :)
$100 is not bad really, and I don't blame you both for taking time out from the temperature. I hope the remainder of the trip goes well, and that you are able to cool off!!
I remember a miserable trip time sleeping in our rv with no air conditioning. We couldn’t sleep because it was so hot. Finally, my husband got our beach towels and soaked them in water. He then laid them over us like a blanket. Sleep finally came.
I used to vacation in Baja frequently. (Lived in San Diego) Puertocitas is beautiful and has natural springs in the lava formations on the beach. You also should know that the Sea of Cortez is heavily populated with sharks. Giant squid have also been found in those waters.
You have to do what you have to do to stay sane! And if that means a night or three in a hotel to not melt, it is absolutely justified. Oh my word, Allison's line about the ducks...it's so true! We booked nights in a beautiful old Victorian hotel and then experienced record breaking temperatures. The hotel had no AC. We wish we would have bailed and went to a holiday inn.
Oh no! Sad you know our pain... But ya, the stay might have been a bit expensive, but it was SO worth it in the end. Here's to hopefully no more a/c-less nights for a loooong time! 😁
Hey guys, may I recommend, not just for van life but life life, the Ryobi fan that takes power drill batteries. I have one, and it literally lasts all night and then some with that power drill battery! I have zero affiliation with them - I just have one, and it’s awesome.
Funny to me that you would go to Baja in the middle of summer and be surprised it's so hot! Then complain about salt water and head to the dessert in such heat! I'd just get a hotel in my own town and save some money! 😂 But nice too see no car problems in the crazy heat!!!! Go Clemintine!!!
Nooo Alison its not cheating that heat way too dangerous , you’re much beter off in the Hotel 🙏🤞🫶 Safe travels hope the heat goes down enough for the Rest of your journey / stay . Take care 🥰
I have been looking at your content with much appreciation ...not only because I just got back from riding my bicycle in Alaska for three weeks, terrified of the bears while camping 90 percent of the time and I looked at your episodes of Alaska before I left and they were great help, but also because I really appreciate young people living the life you are both living. Glad that you have a successful RU-vid channel and the information of the places you provide is very well thought out and informative but also because you present your content with great enthusiasm. So , thank you and got yourself a subscriber. You both have great energy and it is very refreshing. Cheers.
Get a couple of DeWalt battery operated fans for those times with no electric you can still get a cool breeze! We use them when the electric goes off!! We got to have a breeze, we have to be comfortable!!!😊❤
That sounds like such an adventurous experience! Overnight RV camping on a public beach in Baja, Mexico must have been incredible. I’m curious to hear about the safety aspects and your overall experience. Thanks for sharing this unique journey! 🚐🏖🌟
If you want to see beautiful beaches go to Florida to the world famous Siesta Beach. Florida has some of the most beautiful famous beaches in the world. Also go to Hawaii to see gorgeous beaches and also the American Virgin Islands. Baha is not even in the top 10 best beaches in the world but the United States has three beaches in the top 10 beaches in the world😊
This is the 2nd video of yours that I have watched. Thank you, these are good! you guys are very informative, adventurous and I enjoy your personalities which I would say is chill. You compliment each other so you’re a great pair and I wish you the best as you continue your travels. I will stay tuned in for more. Sincerely, Mrs Romero
Well I will say Allison looks pretty darned cute down there! LOL For boondocking, I'm betting that you're regretting removing the generator! PRO TIP, fire up the engine and run the chassis AC for an hour at a time. I know it burns fuel, but staying cooled off and alive is a little more important than the fuel bill. We're full time in central Texas, so trust me there have been several times where the engine was running (with the chassis AC) and the generator to power the big cabin AC.... It gets a little warm at times. We even added a portable AC unit to ours because it's been pretty warm this year compared to the last 2 after going full time.
Having done a lot of hiking and camping I find it essential to get a break in a hotel get myself together again and then go back out clean and refreshed every four days, you shouldn't get mad at yourselves for doing the same... A little comfort after some trials does you good.
Truth! Like you, we don't mind roughing it (especially when you're having a great adventure!) but at some point, you need a good ol' shower and clean sheets 😁
Oh man. It would've been a good time to have light blocking curtains! It would've kept a lot of the heat out. The RV is darling though! She's in all her glory, that Clementine😍
Longtime subscriber here. I was surprised when you guys said you weren't saltwater nor ocean people. You guys have some epic snorkeling vlogs in Thailand and the Philippines. So hmm. Loving this series though. Stay safe!
Great video! I do enjoy your adventures AND the humour…(🦆🦆🦆😂)…so happy to see you comfortable in the lovely hotel. NOT cheating…you are on an Endless Adventure and the fun part is making those decisions as the circumstances dictate. ❤️🇨🇦
Beautiful film. Loving the landscapes. You're right, the desert in beautiful. I'm also impressed with the infrastructure, Baja has come a long way since I was riding a motorbike across it (forty-years ago I'm embarrassed to say).
Guys. Why don’t you buy a energy power device so you can have your AC running? I live in Puerto Rico and the heat is intense. So every RV owner makes sure they have their own power device. I own a 29’ and I cannot imagine myself without it. Hope you consider it.
Thank you for taking us on this beautiful, hot, sweaty adventure! In NY, it feels exactly the same without the view. Enjoy every second! Cannot wait until the next video!
You're not cheating by staying in a hotel. RV Life is all about varied experiences based on the circumstance. Sometimes it's boondocking; other times it's a full hook up resort or hotel. We've all been there...
Hey, ya'll....I am originally from San Diego and grew up camping and exploring Baja and I NEVER, EVER went there later in the year than May.... Just too fuckin' hot. I had a friend in Jr. High who went hiking in the mountains of Baja during summer school over the weekend and we were told on Monday when we came back she had died of heatstroke. So no joke. Hope you can go visit in the cooler temps!
Anytime I hear someone talking about heat I am reminded of a particular deployment during which the temperature just kept increasing. I was out in a remote location with an interpreter, it was about 50 centigrade in the shade, there was a local nearby resting under a tree to get away from the midday sun. I was in full kit, sweating buckets. The local said something and the interpreter laughed. I asked what he said, and he replied 'Wait until the summertime'. On that same deployment, it as so hot that at about 6 am I would get up, sit on the edge of the camp bed to put my boots on, already with a headache from dehydration, and before I had got them on, sweat would already be dripping off the end of my nose.
@@kathykeene2092 been in the cold too. Lost the feeling in my fingertips for at least 6 months. I'd take the hot over the cold every time. It was interesting times.
You guys have done amazing in most ways with the RV but... we concentrated on making sure we had heat/cool covered. Went mini-split, working fans!! and a huge battery (can go 24hrs in 110F or 20F on battery) and beefy enough generator for day 2, 3, ... It is possible to be a lot more comfortable temp wise than you're doing at the moment. But hey - don't mean to sound negative, just feeling bad for you're temp misery. Love to follow you and really appreciate all the sharing you do :)
I just recently found your RU-vid channel and I love you two! This video shows the reality of traveling in Mexico, in the summer, in a vintage RV. Despite all the challenges, you guys are able to keep your chins up and go with the flow. Thanks for sharing the little gems. My wife and I have a more modern class b RV and hope to go to Baja! Happy trails…
Great video as always. You two are such a big inspiration. Love that you keep it click bait free and always respectful on your travels. Much love from Prague.
Maybe buy a few of those rechargeable fans n place in various area in d van to keep air moving. I think air movement will make d interior of van bearable
That’s what I was trying to say as well. But didn’t want to say too much about it. I know exactly what you’re talking about though and it’s so scary. 😢😢
Enjoy the trip and stay in hotel when you want, especially in the heat. I’d say have good memories of trip and air conditioning helps. Get up with the sun and nap in the afternoon siesta is my excuse
If you guys are still in Baja and headed north, check out valle de Guadalupe in The hills of Ensenada, its wine country over there and it’s real niceee
We are considering going to Baja. Thank you for this great information on the location. "And then, the view!!!" You don't say! Wow. That peninsula IS Fricken Amazing! Makes us want to gooooo! You can not ask for much better than that. Great that you could have a hotel room and space to spread out a little. Good for you guys, happy for you. - Michelle
That is cool that there are two airstrips at the campground. At 7:50 in the video there is a number 22 in white numerals to the right of your RV as you are on the dirt road between highway 5 and your campsite, that is the Northeastern end of runway 22/04. The access road to the campsites runs parallel along the southern edge of runway 08/26. I also noticed there is a wind sock on field.
The further south the hotter it gets! I was amazed they wanted to do Baja in the summer time. But it’s their last trip in Clementine and now on to a different adventure.
My girlfriend and I were traveling through that area last year and had a terrifying encounter with the Frito Bandito! We were very lucky that Juan Valdez came to our rescue.
Yall gonna looove Loreto! Bahia Concepcion is where the journey begins! Please get in the water there. And please surf or take a lesson at the beaches outside of Todos Santos. Ps, y’all are MANIACS for going to Baja in the summer.
Peanut butter on waffles or pancakes for that matter are a must! You just made me a bigger fan of your yt channel. Sad that Y'all are leaving the RV life. Keep bringing it!
It’s happening Y’all !! Your in Baja !! Your back on your game my kids!! Loving 🥰 you from Maine!! You were my very first travel channel ever!! Loll😢😅😮😊😊😊 love 💕 you guys to Moon .. 🌙 Grammy from Maine says stay safe and happy my love bugs 🐞!! ❤❤
Nice. Hope you get to Guerrero Negro. Too bad you're going in the summer they have salt lake, they are the top producers of salt! Hope you get to one of the shops that sell salt worth buying a few bottles! Food w that kind of salt is so good!
It's crazy last video you said it was Clementine's first time at the ocean, after all the states you've visited and travel you've been doing! Meanwhile I've spent my whole life living by the sea haha
