Wait, pause... cuz I used to work at PF chang's and I'm 99% sure this isn't true. For example - there was some curry dish that could be made VEGETARIAN by using tofu but it had milk or something in the sauce. I believe some of those sauces ain't vegan.
I think LA is super vegan friendly. Once it's safe to travel again, you guys should go to different cities to test how easy it may or may not be to find vegan offerings!
Paris Shangreaux you asked “how with no money” so I simply stated that if we show enough interest in the show that won’t matter cause they could get a higher budget
@Virtual Insanity lol 😂 they both are wonderful individuals but the chemistry definitely was iffy We was thinking 💭 what you said but we try to say positive even if fake. It’s enough negativity and the H word. Be Bless
Right. Your average employee at restaurants have to ask someone what is vegan most of the time. A guy at Taco Bell asked me what dairy is (I said: "No dairy. Fresco style." and he looked like he was in his 20s. Fresco is "no dairy" at Taco Bell.
Whenever a menu says “Veggie” burger instead of vegan, always ask if there is egg in the ingredients. A lot of “veggie burgers” use egg as a binder. There was even a so-called Plant-based menu at a restaurant called Dog Haus and they have non-vegan cheese on the plant based options. Very deceiving, so be careful. It should say Vegetarian instead. I feel like I have to be an annoying detective or pretend I have a severe allergy in order to get honest answers sometimes.
I just recently went to Cheesecake Factory and ordered their "veggie burger", unknowingly I ate egg after finding the mayo I asked to not be in there. The waiter came back and I told him I had an egg allergy, he then told me that the veggie burger actually had egg inside of it!! I was disgusted that I had eaten chicken fetus >
Same thing with frozen products too ! I've seen Marie calendars makes pot pies with beyond or something and it is placed with the other vegan stuff and the words: plant based meat ! Is so large but the sauces are not vegan.
Yep. Sometimes it’s not deception, but lack of understanding. Those impossible Pattie’s have ingredients tested on animals in order to pass certain food regulations. The burgers they had at cheesecake shop looked like brioche buns. Not vegan. The soup in bread at the beginning might have been made with animal based stock. I’m super untrustworthy and suspicious of all this stuff because I’ve even bought stuff where the label suggests it will be vegan, but when you check the manufacturers website, it says otherwise as sometimes labels will have errors. How do I know? Because when I’ve opened the packaging I can smell animal fats. Then when I investigated further, I was right. This is why I always say, if you want to eat vegan you either cook at home to guarantee it, or eat out at a purely 100% vegan establishment. Everything else is pot luck because the servers likely don’t think about dairy or egg in buns, meat in a soup broth, etc. and it’s likely cooked on the same hot plate or in the same pans as every other menu item in the establishment.
I don't dislike salads, but I don't like to go out and spend $8 on some dry lettuce just bc they have nothing else I can eat when I could make something good at home for cheaper, ya feel?
I’m a vegetarian (slowly working on becoming vegan, just not cold-turkey for my immune system’s sake) with oas (oral allergy syndrome) so I’m allergic to uncooked plant-based foods...it’s rough 😬
I wish I hadn't been "forced" to eat meat when I was little. It literally made me gag many times. Usually parents always choose what their kids eat, so making vegan food for one's children is not "forcing" anything on them anymore than meat-eater cooking meat for their children is. Animal products are full of unhealthy fats, hormones, carsinogens and host of other toxins, which are not exactly ideal for human (or children's) health.
LAVICHA WILSON yeah but at least he chose to finally start eating the same way she does. Which is how it should be done. My family eats meat and my little sister is vegetarian. We don’t force her to eat anything she doesn’t want to. That sucks your family was like that. There’s chemicals and bad things in everything you eat even plants. You should know that.
The whole FEEL of this video was fantastic - two good friends, eating good food, getting great service; I didn't miss meat or eggs or honey ONCE watching this (and I'm about as non-vegetarian as it gets! Where I live in India it's possible to eat vegan and not really change your diet or local foods at all - we just naturally have a lot of fantastic vegetable dishes and vegetarian products). Just goes to prove that vegan/veggie food can be intrinsically amazing, without ever having to sub things on a non-veg meal. LOVE this style of eating out!
I couldn't agree more girl. Whenever I watch these Videos that intend to give "information" to the audience about the vegan options out there, I m like why don't u guys try Indian food 😂😂😂 Like.. We actually have almost half of our population who are vegetation. And the food here is dELiCIouS 😋
I feel like a lot of veggie options from local cuisine are naturally vegan cause that was so easily available I'm mexican and our staples are cactus, beans and root veggies in sauce Meat and cheese in everything is very European I think
@Srionti Maitra There is a difference between vegan and vegetarian. Most non-meaters in India are vegetarian not vegan because they still consume a lot of dairy products like milk, yogurt and cheese. The dairy industry is just as cruel as the beef industry.
@@gourmettoday I live in Seattle and we have a lot of expensive organic vegan food at our grocery stores/restaurants. I lived in LA for a year and I loved it.
adeadmanswonderland @ The Marketing Coordinator at P.F. Chang’s told us in August 2012 that he would contact Chang’s Culinary Department to determine if the oyster sauce was animal-based. The Culinary Department relayed to him that: “…all of our vegetarian-marked items on our menu do not contain any seafood or animal products. Our ‘Vegetarian Oyster Sauce’ is actually made with mushrooms and no actual oyster or shellfish.” The VRG also asked the Marketing Coordinator at P.F. Chang’s if any of the menu items noted as “vegetarian” contained honey, egg, or dairy ingredients. He assured us: “No, they do not, and as long as cane sugar is not an issue all of the items marked ‘vegetarian’ on our menu can also be considered ‘vegan.’”
@@sugarr_coat foreigners came and stole the avocados from their home land, shackled them inside a boat, brought them to America, and they made them work for free
That is the brightest Cheesecake Factory I've ever seen. Edit: It has come to my attention that they may be outside. This Cheesecake Factory is no longer special.
All 3 of the Panera locations near me all have decently friendly and educated staff. Don’t know where you’re getting your Panera at, but if your service is that bad, then I suggest you file a complaint. It’s literally their job to know what they are serving you and to serve it to you with a decent attitude. I 100% will not deal with a place that serves food and has poor customer courtesy or food service issues. I will take it higher up in the chain, or I simply won’t return. I treat those that handle my food respectfully so as a paying customer, I expect my food and myself to be treated the same. Those people who “DGAF” can be easily replaced by someone who will happily work hard to make the money that they are.
@@Livlocalmartian Love this comment! I work in food service as a dishwasher, and my coworkers are of the "DGAF" mindset, especially during the quarantine, and everyday, I want some good replacements for them.
Last time I went to Panera and asked what was gluten free, they handed me a giant binder and said I could look through it. They mark vegetarian things on their menu, but not gf. This was many years ago, though.
They probably sent out emails to local places telling them what they are doing and probably asked if they had vegan options (cause a restaurant doesn’t want to appear non-vegan on something going on the internet). They scheduled times and take them to a secluded area so they aren’t disturbed. The boss probably told what workers to be where and did a crash course on whats vegan.
Another tip: look up menus online on the website. There are times when they have a vegetarian/vegan menu. They usually only provide a regular menu when you sit down unless you ask for the vegan menu specifically.
It was amazing to see all the vegan options!!! I just found out I'm allergic to eggs, dairy, wheat, gluten, oats AND cashews 🙈so I'm learning to navigate food in a different way. I want to be able to go out to eat sometimes... thanks for giving me hope 💜
All the workers in this video give me manager vibes. Like they sent their best because they were filming. So informative. If you wait on me like this you get a big tip!
I love hearing how taitha and her daughter are vegans but her husband and son are not. Because it proves that she is someone who doesn’t push her beliefs on the people around her, I love those kind of people. And it reminds me of me talking to my boyfriend (of 3 years) and I told him that I’ve been kind of experimenting with vegetarian/vegan food and I’ve been loving it so far and he told me how he completely encourages me and respects my choices if I do decide to become vegetarian/vegan , even though he is a big meat lover himself. It means a lot to me cause I tried going vegetarian in middle school and people/“friends” were so mean to me but he is so supportive of me
Wow...i just discovered tabitha on twitter, instagram and tik tok a couple of days ago...now the youtube algorithm suggests an old video with tabitha Brown in it??? Where have I been??? And thank you YT algorithm!!
I've been a vegetarian for 14 years, I'm confident in saying I'll never go vegan but I like how they open my eyes to totally plant-based options I can try out 😁❤
@@DarthFurie there are good vegan alternatives to milk and yogurt but eggs... those damn eggs are what's stopping me from going vegan too lol I've been vegetarian for 6 years otherwise
I feel you on the cheese thing. . I’ve been subbing tofu for egg in most dishes (I’ve heard JustEgg is a great sub though) and I actually found some really good dairy free yogurt from yoplait. Tbh….I started eating vegan this year but I slipped a lot when it came to cheese, lol. But, after 9 months I can say it doesn’t call to me as much anymore. I haven’t found a good cheddar alternative but CHAO cheese is banger for grilled cheese. And I’ve been topping every pasta dish with Follow your heart feta…it’s crazy how similar to texture and taste is to real feta. Also,if you haven’t tried the miyoko’s lox cream cheese…You NEED to. I was a big smoked salmon bagel lover and it really hits the spot for me. I can finish that tub in a week. The same goes for their butter, I usually use earth balance but the miyoko’s brand is way creamier if you’re a big fan of butter’s flavor. Just a few brands that might change your mind about going vegan, not trying not pressure you though.
@@this_that_spla6850 It's because they went during the day. It's dark at night, because they have low lights, but they have giant windows, so it's bright during the day.
ASMR Dazzle 😂😂😂 I have Walmart and H-E-B...and mostly fast food restaurants the only vegan burger is Burger King and some guys who makes vegan burgers to go ( really good burgers by the way)
I honestly rlly appreciate this I’ve been having a hard time with finding vegan options at restaurants that aren’t salads or just not good yk so thanks 🙏
As crazy as the US is- I love the customer service in restaurants. It’s very common to nit pick and take things off your order/add things to it/ share a portion plus you usually get free water. In Germany it is possible to alter menu options but it’s not as common and you never get a free drink. When you go to Japan, just forget about altering anything of your order. It’s a nightmare for vegans, not to mention that most people don’t even know what vegetarian means. If you say no meat and fish they’ll give you crab and shrimp 🤦🏼♀️
You know what I've heard from people in the US that visit central or South America? That they hate customer service in the states 😂 at least in comparison to down here as places such as burger King, McDonald's or fast food restaurants have amazing employees who always smile and care. How is it where you live?
I’ve always loved PF Chang’s, I’m from Mexico and now that I’m vegan I only order the spring rolls and Buddha feast (not complaining, that’s more than enough), I’ll see if they have the other options too:)
guys i'm vegan as well and i love everything plant-based 😂 that.. i quoted what merle said in the video and i just reimagined what meat eaters might think lol
There's nothing worse than going out to eat and the only vegan option is a lame iceberg house salad. Usually for $12+. I could eat that at home for a fraction of the cost and add all my vegan touches to it. Many restaurants just lack creativity in their vegan options.
Thank GOD someone is finally doing this. I’m so tired of googling. This is interactive, shows you the food and gives a review on each item all at once. THIS is the kind of content that actually helps people in their journey as a vegan or to BECOME vegan!!
It’s worth it!! I’ve only been vegan for a month but I feel so good! You obviously don’t have to go full on vegan but I very much recommend trying vegan meals
Same. Crazy because my mom had and energy similar to her but she passed away (hence my depression) which is probably why I would feel much better if I had someone like that.
Cut to three years later, and my toddler does the avocado dance from Tabitha’s fabulous kids show on RU-vid Originals. “Shakin’ my pit! Shakin’ my pit! I cannot sit when I shake my pit!”
Constant Chaos Literally I must live in a village then because all three of those are rare in my entire state. Maybe 3 Panera all far away and no Cheesecake Factory or no changs
I'm just sad because places like Cheesecake Factory can vary depending on where you live. In my area they don't just have vegan swaps on hand so it's kind of frustrating plus they do not have the impossible burger but that salad is bomb. I found that salad a year ago and I've loved it ever since.
Denise yessss i use to work at one in San Antonio and it is not vegan or even vegetarian friendly really at all and the veggie burger at my restaurant at least wasn’t vegan bc the beans were not cooked in a vegetable broth
I'm really REALLY grateful when restaurants put a little logo/mark next to the item on the menu that indicates that it's vegan. also I love when they list ingredients, so that I know what I can ask to swap out immediately
Tabitha, Merle, thank you soooo much for this encouraging video. I have been lacto vegetarian all my life and the thought of no milk, butter, cheese made me feel sad… but what I saw today is very encouraging.. thank you two sooooooooooooooo much!
I laughed when Tabitha said she was part of a "blended family" of vegans and non-vegans. But it's not like non-vegans "can't" eat vegan food. Vegan food is just normal food-anyone can eat it! Veganism isn't a dietary restriction, it's a moral code.
It kinda is a dietary restrictions tho, I’m vegan now, and it definitely has restricted my diet. Are you vegan? Or attempted grocery shop for ONLY vegan food?
