My first tribal deck was a 60-card Liliana "tribal," and I really stuck to it the best I could! Eventually, I decided to leave five slots open for non-related cards, and it worked out much better lol
It's not very often people are able to come back from a hiatus and preserve a high level of content. You guys came back better than ever! You should be proud!
I feel so lucky! I friend of mine showed me the channel a couple of weeks ago and I started watching all your videos. Then I got sad when I noticed you stopped uploading videos, but now here we are! Thanks for the content! Great as always!
Glad to see you back! I think you may have misspoken @ 5:42, citing using Elvish Archdruid's ability when it had summoning sickness, although it was being tapped for mana with Heritage Druid's ability. Very minor
One of the big things for me when coming back was to kind of redesign everything. I get tired of looking at the same designs over and over and I wanted it to feel like a fresh start. Happy to hear you like them!
Good game as always and a very cute puppy. My only feedback is on the opening hands. Just putting them on screen without saying anything about it felt like a miss to me and it was pretty small when they were on screen.
We wanted to try to clean up the intro to the video a little and thought that might be a good way to go about it. Making the cards a bit more obvious and easy to read is definitely something we can do though
@@CasuallyCompetitiveMTG i think the way ModAnon does opening hands is a good middle ground between what i particularly want and what you guys were aiming for. Might be something worth checking into to see if thats the way you want to go.
Great game! So glad to see you're back and up to shenanigans. Some more essay for the algorithm: I really like being able to check opening hands, so thanks for making the effort to keep track of them, but in the current format I can't actually read them! I usually watch these games on my tv and it's just too far away to read those small bars. Even when I walk to my pc it's kinda difficult. Oh and if you want to try some more out there stuff, maybe play a game of conquest!
Agree, I love to see opening hands. But I watch these episodes mostly on my phone so it's pretty difficult to read. But that's just a small thing, I'm so grateful to see your videos again!
I am here to leave an essay in the comments: I really enjoyed the video. I have no problem with the restrictions, and I wanted to let everyone know of my strong feelings through my carefully worded monologue.
As we get rolling more merch will be coming out. In the past we did backpacks, playmats, t-shirts, etc. Just trying to get back into after the long down-period!
It's nice seeing you back, and this is an interesting format. It may be worth it to make a ruling on whether shapeshifters count towards the tribal requirements, since there's arguments either way. In favor, allowing shapeshifters to count can let otherwise underrepresented tribes come a bit closer to the bar and see play. Against, there's the threat of a lot of potential tribal decks being a shell of shapeshifters and the tribe slotted in. On the third hand, I think by now there are probably enough shapeshifters to put forward an actual shapeshifter tribal deck for this format, consisting of shapeshifters benefiting from a confluence of other tribal effects.
so glad to see my favourite MTG gameplay channel. you guys play at my ideal powerlevel. altrough I miss the old style. I know that in the youtube enviroment everything needs to have these engagy calls to action. but I miss how impersonal and streamlined it used to be. it was just a incredibly proffesionally done channel with fun restrictions to keep it unique. and now its another youtube channel trying to be my friend. idk this is probably an unpopular opinion. still love the video.
I don't generally watch Magic games, but this was spectacular and riveting throughout! That Sharpshooter needs a promotion and a new sleeve for all the rotating it went through, bahahaha!
Yeah there are things I like from our old design that I miss, but mentally it's honestly really nice for literally everything (logo, branding, overlay, font, etc) to be new
Haven't watched the whole episode yet but wanted to make a prediction after the intros: Adam on Elf Tribal is going to win. I think elves have the most competitive support and working within the restrictions I think they're positioned the best. But I really WANT Nate on Zombie Tribal to win because that list looks so cool lol Edit after watching: Awesome game! Really glad we got to see everyone do their thing. If you're reading this Casually Competitive, I have a small suggestion. The blue and purple colors you've chosen are really difficult to tell apart for people who are Red/Green colorblind. It's a really small detail, but if it possible to adjust those colors a bit to make them easier to tell apart your colorblind audience would really appreciate it! 😄
The colors were just initially chosen to match the deck sleeves but we can definitely change them. The next 2 videos are already edited and uploaded so those may have similar issues but for the videos after that I'll try to find a good set of colors and assign each player a color
@@CasuallyCompetitiveMTG Thank you! I know there are a whole bunch of production variables behind the scenes, so if it's too much of a hassle that's totally understandable. But I'm sure it would be appreciated by some of us 👍 Keep up the great work! I'm glad you guys are back!
So glad you guys are back! Didn’t notice it until now because the time off pushed you so far down the list. You were always my favorite gameplay channel with the off meta brews.
It took me a while to figure out/remember how the Sharpshooter/Twin combo works... it also requires a third creature with 1-toughness anywhere on the field. 1. Tap Sharpshooter to make a Twin copy; 2. Ping the 1-toughness creature with the copy, killing it and untapping both Sharpshooters; 3. Tap the original Sharpshooter to make a second copy; 4. Ping an opponent with one of the copies and have the other copy ping itself or the first copy to death, untapping the two remaining Sharpshooters; 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until everyone is dead.
