As cool as it is to be testing limits with your son, skiing such difficult runs in such low visibility was a poor choice. If anything happened you would have been in trouble. Part of the skiing code is also knowing when to wait for better conditions to ensure better safety.
That’s where letting the parent make those decisions is crucial. One might question the wisdom of skiing in bad visibility, but if one knows the terrain, and is an expert skier, the risk is greatly mitigated. Having ones children face risks in a parental environment is formative for kids. Children need to be exposed to risk and danger so they learn how to deal with them effectively. Both Dad and son are expert skiers. The kid was deftly navigating every slope they skied. Dad knew what he was doing, and so did his son! That was some excellent skiing in tough conditions, and they were both well qualified. That was a classic father and son outing.
