Keep the room with the view! You will appreciate it much more on a daily basis than children will. Also, maybe they won't wake you as early if they sleep in a dark room!

Don't panic - Virginia Creeper is very fast growing so don't fret. Patio will be great when done and all cohesive and coming together and just imagine eves with your firepit looking back at your lovely home with lights in the garden and candles and flowers. The building to the right that you are going to clad should be a sage cladding I think and a new white scented jasmine should be planted to grow over it and bridge the gap with a gate maybe. It will all come together.

Not finished watching the video yet but just seen the section about the headphones and the workers being paid a living wage. Just thought I’d drop you a note (not as a criticism or anything) but that many jobs are only just being paid a living wage. I’ve worked as a Reception year Teaching Assistant in the UK for just over 20 yrs on just above a minimum wage and only earlier this year have we been paid a living wage (but still only paid for 44 weeks ) . I’m so grateful that our wage has finally been increased and wonder how many other professions are still waiting for a living wage 😢 (Reading this it may come across as political or similar but it truly is not - it’s just a thought)

Hang those two prints above the bed but change the matting so they are the same. Then you could purchase 2 smaller mirrors to place about the night stands slightly behind the lamps. I absolutely love, love, love your wallpaper. I wonder if it is available in the US? You have a good eye for design and I am enjoying seeing the changes you are making in your home.

Houseplant enthusiast here. If you want a common indoor plant that looks like a geranium I highly recommend Kalanchoe blossfeldiana 🌸

I love your plans for a sustainable veggie garden and using Cornish native flowing plants as pollinators to attract beneficial insects. I like the expanse above the bed without the prints. I would trial them leaning on the side tables and change the matting to the same. I feel the feng shui of having an object on the wall above a bed unsettling. Love the potted flowers on the window sill. Also , ignore the naggers about you changing, but I did like your explanation about coming back to your inner self. I feel the same after a long time not being true to myself. The evolution of the house is so cozy and I think thats why we watch and learn from you.

You cut a tiny v shape with an exacto knife into the place where the mail will go and then put the nail in and when you don’t want it there anymore you put some glue there and push down and voila it’s not visible.

Remove the green faded and cream mats from your frames,paint them with your blue bedroom trim paint,restore and hang together above the bed! Chef’s kiss!👌 (It will break up the wallpaper and pull it together all at the same time!)

I'm in my 60"s and in my 30's did exactly what you did...realized my style...at 61 I moved to Florida and thought I needed to change...nope...going right back to my style which is VERY much like yours..I really enjoy your journey of bringing this house to life!!!

Also, I LOVE the idea of using the two big picture frames for wedding pictures in black and white- Alex in one and you in another, almost looking at each other. The color will break up the blues and greens I think.

for anyone confused about the hosepipe ban: there are water shortages where some people are left with very little to no water at all, so people who do have water, shouldn't use it for anything that's not essential. it doesn't mean "don't use your hose but feel free to use as much water as you want from the tap". it's a general ban on any non-essential water usage, so that we don't end up seeing some people filling up their pools while others can't even get any drinking water. we also have one in the south east (of england) where i am at the moment because it's been so warm and dry and people are using way more water than we're prepared for.

Totally agree with your point of returning to yourself in your 30s. Since I've turned 30 I've especially refound my love of reading which was my main hobby as a child and its brought so much joy back into my life 😊

Love the geraniums on the windowsill they do like sun too.I’m really enjoying seeing a Georgian farmhouse being so beautifully repaired and renovated! In the future you might consider having irrigation to your veggie beds as that will save you time and water. Also help with the changing climate and adapting to it.

For wallpaper I LOVE Picture rails. A decorative rail usually about a foot (sorry American so I use archaic measurements lol) from ceiling and painted to match trim, then you use lovely metal hooks and chains that hand from it. You can move these about and adjust height of pictures, art without going into the wallpaper itself, just a thought. A good Google of a Picture rail will get you down a Lovely rabbithole.

I agree about the mirror opp the window and 2 pictures over the bed to pick up the colours. The white pillows look lovely on the bed. Two larger lamps beside the bed would add to the symmetry and pick out the blue and a feeling of antiquity with metal bases. You are eloquent and should do a book on your home and interiors and decorating as you obviously have a flair for it. I so love that wallpaper - the blue picture rail sets it off so beautifully. You make a home a home and that is not everyone's talent. I would say have the ginger jar on its own as it is so beautiful and group the plants. Also be very careful with that wisteria as it can grow up under roof slates etc and is very strong so I would recommend trimming it back.

It’s so funny because in America, we treat Virginia creeper as a nuisance plant, at least in the south. It’s invasive as kudzu or English ivy!

The money plant is too cute! You could put a big floor plant in the bedroom too...plants add so much to a house...and they are so good for you 😊

A mirror next to a window or on the wall that’s facing the window is the best thing in the bedroom in my opinion, I say do it even if you won’t look into it much, it created such a beautiful picture mirroring what’s outside! I used to have a mirror next to my window, I never ones looked at myself in it, but each morning and evening I’d look AT it because it was like a natural art peace, reflecting the light and trees.. I was devastated when it broke. It has been 4-5 years since then and I’ve now moved into a different apartment, but I still think of it often, being sad that there nowhere in my current place I can remake that idea. It was absolutely beautiful, so don’t hesitate to try to put a mirror up!

I would put a shelf with some trinkets on it above the bed head and then put those two paintings above the side tables but a little lower than the shelf.

Hi! I think you find many pictures of geraniums indoors because people would overwinter them there. Also I would recommend putting some cloth underneath the plant pot saucers as you may ruin your windowsills (the saucers get moist underneath and then the paint comes off). Lovely bedroom! ❤

Lots of notes. The wallpaper is stunning and I have to thank you for sharing the F and B paint colour. I want to use it here. PRONUNCIATION: I am a Canadian and I pronounce it ZED to begin with. I had to really think about the room pronunciation and I think it is ROOM as opposed to rum here but like you it just may be a variable. I am going to watch myself in the near future. PICTURES: Like others, I favour over the bed with new matching mats. And like you, I always hesitate to move pictures around because I HATE putting nail holes in the walls. I currently have stacks of pictures in my study because I want to make a gallery wall but I hesitate to commit to nailing the hangers on the wallpaper. Gah! POTS ON THE WINDOWSILLS: Your clay pot saucers will need those little felt stickers on the bottoms, otherwise they porous saucers may mark the paint/wood of your furniture. It has happened to me. Avoid! Your vines. A friend was installing decky stairs for me and , when I was out of the house, he chopped the bottom of this enormous ivy that covers, well, most of my house to be honest, but this one plant covers the side. When I got home, I almost lost my reason. He thought it needed to go to accommodate the stairs but in the end it didn’t. At any rate, the ivy lived and still does without the base root. How this is possible, I have no idea. If your vine is Boston Ivy or Virginia Creeper, they grow really rather quickly so I don’t think your house foliage will be asymmetrical for very long. WILLIAM MORRIS AND THE PRE-RAPHAELITES: My favourite! I have beautifully framed prints on a gallery wall in my living room. I never tire of them. I am beginning to think we are sister with a different mother (and a few decades apart). I too have a Tux and a ginger feline family who let me live in my house. Finnigan and Fergus. I adore them. I also love Cornwall but haven’t been for years. Your house is wonderful and I enjoy being taken along the decorating/renovation journey upon which you have embarked. Thanks so much!

Art looks great in the room! Above the bed is where I would put them, but I also like them over the bedside tables. You can also hang the art from the wood trim with long cords.

I think they are excellent for breaking up the wall paper pattern but if they are too low or too hidden in the corner it won’t be as effective

As one of those American homestead/permaculture enthusiasts, I would say look into ducks over chickens, especially given your slug issues. A quote I like is, "You don't have a slug problem but a duck deficiency." They are avid foragers and are less damaging to your garden vs chickens who tend to scratch up roots, etc. They're usually friendlier and don't mind the rain. I could totally see a little pond feature by your future greenhouse. Anyway, just my two cents! P.S. Love The War On Drugs!!! ❤

I have been experiencing the exact thing about "coming back" to yourself, I'm in my mid 30s now and it's honestly been a really amazing journey! Side note: I'm a traditional artist and LOVE the Pre-Raphaelites, currently doing a number of painting and drawing studies from that movement and especially some artists post that time. Embracing the arty and stylistic nerd in you is such a joyful path to take isnt it? I keep thinking, how did I make it this long denying that part of myself?

Wow, hose pipe bans are a new one to me. I live in Australia and despite when we had the worst decade-long drought across most of Australia, we didn't ban hoses. We had periods of the day when you were allowed to water (before 6am and after 6pm usually on alternate days depending on your house number).

As someone who paints very traditional impressionist scenes, I know of many artists doing the same! "Modern art" is more of a genre and not so much when the art was made, I feel like :) I can't wait to see what painters you discover and support!

for your lovely plants on the facade: anything that‘s been damaged, cut back 2/3 of the crown, water and fertilise a LOT! that‘ll give you the best chance of reviving them.

With regard to which picture to hang in your bedroom, your wallpaper is like a lovely picture in itself so I would try not hanging any pictures for now but instead buy two tall matching bedside lamps with large white or cream shades.

I grew up with kalonchoe and angel wing begonias in the house. They both flower. Geraniums were often outside by the front door. Everything looks lovely.

It's bad Feng Shui to have pictures over the bed. It's makes sense as they could drop on you! And FYI storage under a bed, stops air flowing. Psychology really.

Everything about your house is beautiful!! Definitely put a mirror that runs horizontally on the wall opposite the window. I consider mirrors art pieces, they do not only need to be for practical purposes and it would reflect your view that you love. Look for a beautiful antique gilded one, the search could be fun.

Oh my goodness, yes! The way I dress is really important to me. It’s become more so in recent years, and I’m itching to change my wardrobe. I got lost with style for a number of years, and now I’m figuring out again (in my mid 30s) what really works for me. I’ve found that my style has changed a lot from when I was younger, and I’m really keen to completely overhaul my wardrobe. It’ll have to be a gradual process, but if I could go on a shopping spree tomorrow I would haha

My tip: Put a bucket in the shower with you when you rinse off (obviously not when your using soap). You can use the water to water your garden. Also, it's best to water your garden in the evening so the water doesn't evaporate in the heat 🌿

Yes to the mirror and pictures

I like the idea of an oval or round mirror on the wall to contrast the botanicals and right angles in the room. Mirrors make rooms look bigger and reflect/doubles the sunlight in a room. The reasoning behind using them in rooms doesn't necessarily mean you're hanging them to look in. A nice small woman or child's portrait might be nice above one of the nightstands, or a country scene. Again, paintings with oval, round, octagonal frames might be nice as a contrast in the room. I've also seen rooms decorated by hanging artwork on ribbons or chains from the trim above and that looks lovely; it doesn't require sticking nails in the wallpaper and makes it easier to move artwork around as you please. The Eden Project looked like so much fun. Is it a concert series in the botanical gardens? I'm jelly -- all I've been doing is work, work, work. But it's nice to live vicariously through you.
