I started watching Hermitcraft when I had my spinal surgery in November of 2020 and been addicted to all of you since. Such an inspiration with your dad talks and keeps me smiling during the carzy times in life. Thank you for all you do! Hugs.
That reminds me of when I started watching Grian’s pov of hermitcraft since he joined. His life series is what introduced me to all and I started watching other povs. Which includes Mumbo, Scar, Pearl, Impulse, Tango, Skizzleman, Zombiecleo, Cubfan, Doc, Bdubs, Etho. But I was watching Tango before that due to his redstone skills of decked out (I was a nerd and wanted to know how it worked)
the muffler mod is amazing!. so much you can turn down or mute. you can even put an anchor that mutes just a specific area while you are there. it's really good for things like farms where you get overwhelmed by sound like an enderman farm. no more having to turn down hostile mobs you can just turn down or turn off enderman in that area with an anchor or you can just disable enderman everywhere.
26:23 just to hop in the convo, my daughter will be 6 in a few days and has been playing since she was 2 on the computer. She only plays in creative but she figured it out. It also helps that she watches a lot of Minecraft RU-vid.
I dont usually play minecraft because I get a big headache because I play on a Switch. But your sewer inspired me to build my own unique build using everything I've learned using you and Grian's techniques and I could not be more happy about how its turning out so far. Thank you
About kids playing: I used to play every Saturday with my 5 year old niece until she was 8 and lost interest. Those were honestly the best (bedrock) Minecraft days of my life. First her goal was to learn the controls and we'd just fly around a little for about 15 minutes till she moved on to something else. Then when the controls were learned, she spammed as many mobs as she could, trying to find what amount could crash her game, then we started doing buildings, sometimes together, sometimes contests. Classical square dirt or wooden planks huts. They usually ended up on fire or exploded with TNT. For some time we made some rollercoasters. and eventually we went into survival, to do some PVP, which I admit to, my then 8 year old niece kicked my butt every time, even when the playing field wasn't set to her favor on purpose. We played in our own worlds or on bedrock maps, usually also doing a role playing game. We were princesses, unicorn riders, fairies, malicious spirits, mother and child (me being the child) You know, all the things a little girl loves. I loved every moment of it and I hope she's going to get back into Minecraft one day. Maybe even Java like her aunt. (me) About ADHD Diagnostics: I think, as someone with autism myself, we can see ourselves a bit in some things youtubers do, desperately trying to find those things of ourselves. That's what the internet diagnostics for various Hermits come from. We see the youtuber Impulse play Minecraft hours upon hours, we see our own hyper fixations. We hear Impulse has a strict schedule and doesn't differ much of it, we see our own schedules that if differed from gives us panic attacks. We hear you have anxiety, WE have anxiety. You hoard stuff you have weird attachments too in a what if scenario, We hoard things we have weird attachments too in a what if scenario. Get my point? It's easy to recognize signs if you look for them to compare someone you love with yourself because you're trying to find connections. Of course doing an autism test when you are in doubt never hurts, and could only help expand your understanding of oneself. I highly recommend it when you (or the reader reading this) has had thoughts about being in the Autism Spectrum. You are welcome in our rainbow. About CPAP: Getting a CPAP at 36 years old was tough for me, but I am so grateful that I no longer have headaches so bad I throw up every other day. When I heard a few stream vod's ago you were having sleep troubles I was about to type to you about CPAP, but I am usually watching on Playstation on the big screen and as other topics arise I often forget the whole thing I was thinking. About in 20 years from now: Oof, tough one. Firstly, the awfulness of War and the Corona Epidemic, The BLM movement, the Queen of England dying. But that's not media. I think in media films that still be talked about is... very little honestly. Probably some popular pop songs, like from Ed Sheeran. In movies, perhaps how this is the era of awful Disney live actions and re-makes? In gaming I think Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Final Fantasy's remake/rebirth, For me personally I'll look back at 2020 and remember I spend 80% of it playing Animal Crossing on the switch. About organizing storage systems: I often fantasize about going to Hermitcraft and cleaning the storages systems of many of the Hermits. A cleaned and organized storage space gives me peace of mind and peace of mind allows ideas to flow in better. (It also helps knowing what items you have.) I could in fact watch you clean up your storage system for a whole stream just hearing them banter about anything. It's scratching a satisfaction itch of seeing the mess get less and less. The build: Never knew how much consideration of environmental builds go into planning, the color you landed upon is gorgeous. I am glad you are working in the city again and finishing up the builds (and hopefully make a few more) The city looks empty and it doesn't quite reflect on how hard you work because most of your hard work is underground so far. I know. lame. About me: I have watched Hermitcraft since season 05 (Mumbo, Xisuma, technically Grian but he wasn't a Hermit then) Watching more hermits every season, I Watched Impulse since season 07, but also backlogged and watched S03-S06, and now I watch all Hermits since S09. And yes. I do mean all of them, and the Recap to booth. I've been watching Impulse's vod's since S09 as well, I think I can safely say he's my fave. I recognize myself in him the most. I really like that when he's faking an emotion he says he faked it. Like a few vod's ago I was really really worried about the armor stand because I was convinced he was upset, but then he said he was joking. To add at the conversation at around 29:00 - 31:00 At the age of 7, I started playing Pokemon Yellow. The problem is... I'm from The Netherlands and the only version in my country was in english, and I never learned an english word in my life before that age. But with trial and error you make your way through the game. It's so fun and nothing else at the time could compare to that. It was my first video game. I bet the very young kids just like the simplistic nature minecraft has. They don't need to go and build farms or big buildings. They are happy with a dirt hut and a dog as pet, as their end game. Kids are smart and if they do not understand it yet, they will figure stuff out at some point.
The ability to customize gameplay is a huge factor for young children playing. Turn off fall damage, etc. Turn on keep inventory. Set to peaceful. Let them go wild. :)
My daughter has been playing Minecraft on PC since she was nearly 4. Just played in creative and peaceful mode for a while, but now shes 6 she can handle herself around a few zombies. We've watched lots of HermitCraft and one of her favourite things is to build beautiful houses for us in her world.
The Muffler mod is great because you don't have to get your ears blasted by flippin' Anvils breaking, or clinking when you use them. They're really obnoxious without such a useful mod. It also allows you to mask annoying mod sounds, too. Primarily, though, it'll save you from the worst of the worst even just in vanilla. That mod is pure peace of mind. 😌
I started playing Minecraft with my GRANDSON when he was 6 or 7 and he is 12 now. I started playing because he wanted help building “mods” but what he meant was redstone farms. I now host a Bedrock Realm for all my grandchildren to play together. We love it. Btw, my children were born in the 80’s lol. I watched TONS of videos trying to learn the game for him. Yours were some of the first I watched I think. BTW - told you this before but you and Skizz have kept me laughing and entertained during long painful nights. I was driving an ambulance and had a DUI driver run a stop sign out in front of me while I was traveling 65 mph. I love you all…all the Hermits. I am so glad I found all of you (but you and Skizz are sooooo funny together 😂)
When trading you can set global favorites for villagers with same trades like quartz blocks and shift + mouse wheel click . It will then be a global favorite which means any villagers on the server will have that trade set as a favorite for you. Instead of setting each villager quartz trade individually
My kids got into minecraft this year. They always liked watching it but they've started playing it this year. Both my oldest (7) and my youngest (4) they play in creative tho. Although that's bc my oldest is a troll and kept killing my youngest so had to turn off friendly fire.
Highly encourage sleep study if you have any grogginess, or wake up with headaches. I went from 93 events an hour to 5. The difference in quality of life is astounding
Not gonna lie, I may be on the fence about the use of scaled up (or down) armor stands in builds, but they make for pranks with an INCREDIBLE impact to cleanup ratio.
Lava can create fire in air blocks next to wooden trapdoors as if they were flammable, but the trapdoors do not burn (and cannot be burned by other methods either).
You should do a hermitcraft season where everyone is paired up and makes their base as a co-project. Like you and gem would share a storage system and farms and such. Tango and etho, ren and doc, etc. or you could have a randomizer so you wont know who you are living with for that season until the first day.

I'm curious what your Grass shop idea is. If I had to build one I would probably do a giant push mower which feels kinda expected or I would do something Honey I Shrunk the Kids or Bugs Life themed
I also have minecraft periods, sometimes I leave it for a while but some weeks I’m obsessed and can’t stop. I havent played for long, like 1,5 years, its the first game I’ve gotten into at the ripe age of 28 haha… I also love watching minecraft content on youtube
Tech hoarding: I have a duffle bag in the top of my closet with old keyboards, mice, cords, whatever. I have game CDs from decades ago, literally. My son teases me. "OMG Mother! Throw that away! Why are you keeping all this junk?" And yet, who does he come to when he needs a random cord or whatever? Me! lol Love your face. :)

Personally, I liked the previous setup more. With the prompter. It just felt more personal and less awkward than seeing you look just past the camera. And I think it was such a professional little detail of your streams, to have you actually look at us while talking to us. Might be the minority here though, idk. If the rest of the audience likes this more, I won't complain. :D
ive been playing mc since 2011 (i was 11), i’m 24 now. i go through long playing droughts but i have never had a minecraft vid drought, i think about this game way too much lol
Camera looks amazing, although I'm sad you aren't looking into the camera when reading chat. I found it much more personal and less disconnected from us all. Think of it when you're talking to someone in person, do you look all around when addressing someone? Or, do you look directly at them? (myself,, personally,, I'm half and half because I have afew insecurities)
