Me and my kids have been making this once a week now mate and they love it Iv been using soda water milk and egg as the base or marinade works a treat

I wanted to try making some make shift, home made dirty bird using what I had on hand. Didn't have any paprika (had mustard powder), did the vinegar in the milk to do the butter milk sub.. was trying for all the cragley bits, cooked it in the oven & it was pretty shit😂 Did reheat/ cook it in the air fryer later and was not bad 2nd time round

I mean technically buttermilk is the liquid leftover when you churn cream into butter, but yes you can make it with lemon in milk..

I remember eating “Dirty Bird”, or “ Kentucky Fucked Duck” as we called it in the RAN decades ago in Malaysia with table service and beers!

There is something so disgustingly good about the oil dribbling down your chin when you bite into KFC... If you want to make your own, save yourself a heap of effort and go to an Asian grocery store and buy Dapur Desa Kentucky Chicken Flour Mix.

Amazing recipe, thank you for sharing, I made this a while ago for my hubby, been meaning to post about how successful and tasty this recipe is, I made a gluten free dairy free version, I even used the seasoned gf flour spice mix to make a gravy! It was sooo good and so much better than kfc, we haven’t eaten kfc for 15 years, because of our condition (as my lil brother calls it! lol ) it’s great now we can enjoy a better version of it now! 👌🙌🏻😋

Is it just me. Or was there a weird awkward energy when the bags of flour and spices labbelled drugs and not drugs came out? Being a person with long hair myself i do think there is a thing in society that labells u as a hippy or drug taker if u have long hair. Hence why i feel there was a weird energy to this video.. a bit of paranoia. A bit of triggering and also a bit of downing putting. This video would gave been better wifhout the drug labelling on the bag. Now sorry to rant, but the video was weird energy up untill old mate cooked the chicken. So that cgicken must of been good. I loved how old mates mrs backed him up too, like its a thing they talk about. My mrs is my ying yang so she pulls me back in line.... so this had me on edge a little. Probablt just too sensitive.

Decided to give the recipe a try. Is the 3 tablespoons of white pepper correct? Sounds like a lot of pepper. I wussed out and only used one tablespoon. I’ll find out tonight how it works out.

The difference between what you made and the missing ingredient is the oil. KFC uses the cheapest of course over and over. So yours probably tastes better but not quite the same. Don’t be afraid of reusing good quality oil such as olive if making Spanish potato tortillas which I am Spanish and my parents did all the time

I have made this before, but where do you buy MSG from? I know it’s called Monosodium glutamate, but where do I buy it?

I made this recipe and flavour wise it was bangin, especially with the msg, although i personally think it was over seasoned with herbs and spices, most other recipers use teaspoons of herbs n spices where this one uses tablespoons, next time id maybe deduct 1/3rd-1/2 the spice to flour ratio

Awesome “dirty bird” mum cooked it this way over 30 years ago. Always her secret recipe. Think it may have had some of these spices. Episode bought back many memories. Looks so yummy I will have to try your recipe.

Home made KFC using your Parma (I’m Victorian) recipe is one of the kids favourites, did it as recently as last Thursday.

I recon this version is likely better since its FRIED chicken...KFC (unless its different down under) uses a pressure cooker instead of a fryer.

You could put the oil in the diesel tank, after filtering of course. What about Zinger, I can't bear to eat original, greasy salty mess.
