The steel with the rubber on it in the finds is a leaf spring bump stop, fitted to older cars up to the late 1970’s. As an example they were used on nearly all cars from the very first Ford model T
Well done, everyone! It's sooo nice to see Mr Fox 😅 Ohh Marie, such a lovely historical find. I'm glad it wasn't live. Congratulations, Steve, on the old anchor, brilliant find. You guys crack me up 😂

Another amazing day, I love Nigel’s sense of humor, he’s quite phunny. 😂 that number 68 was a fantastic find, and the history’s truly remarkable. All that being said, I nearly choked on my coffee when Rusty whacked himself. 😂 Have a great weekend and I’ll see you all next Thursday. Big love everyone. ❤
So many funny puns 😂😂❤😂. Great great finds-anchored by Rusty, recycled by Glenn, yes Nigel did make the cut 😂😂😂😂. Marie is da bomb 😂😂Hi to Allison, Mike and Kirsty. Luv watching your videos 🥰. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the dog tags 🏷️ 🇺🇸🇬🇧🤪🤪
6:01- Part of a spring shackle assy. for a vehicle. It fits on top of the spring and the grooves each have the head of a "U" bolt held in them. The rubber is a buffer between the spring & the frame. That anchor is a true ripper! Congrats! I think that anchor is true wrought iron, based on the bottom rusting. Love the lamps. Congrats on the AT grenade. Quite a coup.
Top work guys 😃 love your videos. 2nd time magnet fishing for me and when we were packing up someone phoned the bloody police on me and my partner saying we were fly tipping 🤦♀️ was actually leaving it for the scrap man what had been organised by us 🙈 puts you off when someone does that 😢 Keep up the good work 😃
Hey ammo, So sorry to hear of your bad experience with the police. Keep doing what you enjoy, they can't stop you 💯 Thanks so much for your kind words too
Brilliant historical and intriguing finds again and you’ve got to love Marie’s historical facts they’re brilliant ❤ I hope you folks ( Peaky’s) realise how important what you’re doing is and I don’t just mean bringing historical relics up from the depths or clearing out tons of junk from the environment although both are really important, I for one really look forward to watching your videos I’ve been quite ill for over a year and virtually house bound and Peaky Dippers all of you brighten my days. Thank you sincerely ❤
We thank you so much for your amazing comment and support v4victory. I'm so sorry to hear you've been ill and house bound, we send our prayers that you get better soon. Thanks again for showing the interest in the history, we need to save it for the future generations 🙏
The “buffer” you got attaches to the top of an axle along with leaf springs via u- bolts on a lorry. It stops the axle connecting with the leaf springs on articulation/compression👍🏼
Hi guys the thing you refer to as a cats eye then a buffer in the round up. Is actually a bump stop which would have fitted on top off a lorry or bus spring the u bolts go over the top and fasten the whole thing to the axle. The rubber is to stop reduce the damage to the lorry/bus chaises when the axle comes up too far. P

Is the notch in the dog tag for a dead soldiers (55,000) tooth to hold it in place. My father was in the med corps during the forgotten Vietnam war and showed me how it was used and why. I'm not a ghoul just a history buff. Thank you for the lesson...no more for now.
Would never in a million years block you graham, so sorry for your experience as youtube can really be stupid at times, I did see you comments and said hello. I hope it gets rectified soon mate
