I've still got my Catana XT 1300 and Technium XTA Margin 950, the Catana weighs a tone at full length but is a great power pole, the Technium is the one I use the most to this day, had them since about 2007. I've got a couple of old Middy whips that are years old as well
I have a very very old Diaflash that I would not sell for the world, the best pole ever made in my eyes (though I have use an Airity for a long time now) and this pole looks like it has the same pedigree, if so WOW!
Tried the pro at the big one exhibition. Definitely solid and excellent finish on the joints. Performance wise it was better than the guru 900 and the top end daiwa's i have handled. The maver xx and Garbo uk1 felt a little lighter and more responsive tho.
Only ever used Shimano or Diawa Poles going back to the Diawa pro carbon and the Shimano AX. You missed out probably Shimano,s best ever Pole the super ultegra .
Thing with the angling times now is that it’s so hand in hand with the tackle manufacturers you can’t really take there tackle reviews seriously to not fit a pole with side pulling kits is a major mistake but he just glosses over it not wanting to say anything critical all his reviews in the angling times are always the same never fined nothing critical
Owned a shimano technium great pole, couldn’t get spares so sold it. I think they have missed a trick by not installing side pullers in the factory. Need to know about being able to purchase spares including extra top kits and how long for. Daiwa screwed up with the Chinese Match Winner version as no spares and rely on other brand top kits. Small minded approach. won’t buy Daiwa again.
Compared to the air z pro it is. The z pro is another level, not even Preston can compete with daiwa or guru. I've got the shimano pro on order so we'll see
The amount of resources shimano has is unreal. They'll only bring something out once they're really happy. Such a initiative company. I go cycling and it's mind bogling they're gear systems and carbon wheels so they know what they're doing with carbon
