I certainly like the looks of the 2022 Toyota RAV4, but I have to admit the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has significantly many advantages as you have stated.

There’s a recall on the fuel pump & wires fused incorrectly.

What was the zero to 100 time?

any word on tow rating?

When you're driving with cruise control on it doesn't kick you out of EV mode does it? Like the previous model does?

i still have my 2013 PHEV and i easily bang that off road, and not just gravel. if you ever actually want to go gravel road at 100kph and see what it can do around corners theres quite a few back gravels roads near Kaiwaka. Happy car tester here if you ever need one

Would be useful to know if the 85km EV range is accurate and how much it drops on the open road at 100kph.

Didn't even show us the third row!! I really need to see it in order to decide if I go with that model or not. Another review I watched showed that the foot/ankle room was only enough for small children. Does the second and/or third row slide?

How many real world miles did you get with EV only? Not what the company advertised. Especially in mixed driving

I own a 2020 Outlander PHEV and am salivating over this new one, but I absolutely love the paddle shifters for the regenerative braking, and didn't see them in this new model. I sure hope there's some on the steering wheel. It allows you to coast down a hill the speed of your choice without having your foot on the brake. I believe it's a must for any EV and would put me off a Tesla.

87km electric range sounds good , I think 100km electric range should be a standard within 2yrs

No doubt the reviewer is a nice guy however these reviews are all very polite and lack any proper balanced criticisms….more like an ad. It’s a shame we don’t have a descent review channel in NZ like some of the Australian channels. For potential buyer consideration I’ve driven one of these and would rate it as an ideal step up for for a family however my personal criticisms are the ride and suspension is too soft and disengaged with some sharp feedback on occasions.The rear seats when folded should lock in place as without any load on top of them they can thud up and down over certain bumps. The engine being Mitsubishi is a definite plus over the 2.5 Nissan unit in the standard petrol units however unless you keep the battery pack charged you will find running it as a standard hybrid and open road quite thirsty, reports of Phev Eclipe’s returning well into the 8’s per 100km are about so I’d only expect this to be worse so what is the real world economy then?…food for thought. Also if you search google you will read of issues relating to what some deal as unreasonable bonnet flutter under windy conditions and speed, I believe Mitsubishi may be trying to remediate some examples using additional rubber trimmings attached to the underside edges of the bonnet with I noticed on an example I drove…..not a pretty sight. Great looking vehicle and well finished….with great warranty, I personally however was left disappointed from my experience so just offering it for consideration to all.

I did the $60000 AUS conversion advertised in their commercials. If this vehicle is going to be over $40000 US, its dead in the water.

I used to like chrome, but the design of this car is terrible. Too much chrome and very ugly headlights. Display too small for a car of this size. Too thirsty in hybrid mode. No match for the RAV4.
