Plum Jam Recipe
1 kg Plums stones removed
700g sugar
Juice of a lemon
100ml water
Method
Remove the stones from the plums and put in a pan with 100ml water.
Soften the fruit over a medium heat for 8 - 10 minutes.
Add the sugar
Turn the heat down low and stir occasionally until all sugar is dissolved.
Add the lemon juice.
Turn the heat up to maximum for about 8 - 10 minutes until the setting point is reached.
105C.
Let the jam settle in the pan for a minute or two.
Pour into clean and sterilised warm jars and seal.
This can be stored for at least year on a shelf.
