The Marked ones is the best for me. A change in setting made for a far more interesting story, and the connection with the rest of the paranormal activity universe was unexpected and satisfying almost. This one might be one of the worst in my opinion lol

My personal ranking of these films (just my opinions) 1. Paranormal Activity 1 - I honestly personally love this film and how it does so much with so little and actually has creative scares. 2. Paranormal Activity 2 - This one's pretty solid also, does a good job with expanding the world. 3. Paranormal Activity 5 The Marked Ones - Ballsy movie and is definitely for people who are easily bored with this franchise, it goes wild. 4. Paranormal Activity 3 - Solid movie in my opinion but definitely has its flaws. 5. Paranormal Activity 4 - Pretty fucking bad and boring as hell, Robbie is hilarious though. 6. Paranormal Activity 6 The Ghost Dimension - Actual dog shit.

I put it on everything I love, Paranormal Activity : The Marked Ones is the one that y'all will actually like watching.

Here's my review for this movie: I have a strange obsession with this pile of lard. I think about it kind of often even though I hate it. I’m going to tear this thing apart: POSITIVES: Pretty sure a movie should have one, unfortunately this one straight up doesn’t NEGATIVES: Oh boy time to go through the laundry list of negatives that grew about 700 feet long: For starters, the characters suck. And I mean all of them, except for franchise legend Katie. Alex is one of the worst horror protagonist I’ve ever seen, I mean she is a final girl but it’s because every single character was as stupid as a sponge on a Saturday afternoon. I hated the way she spoke, the awful way she acted, like she treats her family like complete sh!t which is what the main character should NOT do. Not to mention the horrible performance from Newton, who’s scenes when she’s supposed to be scared are LAUGHABLE. The boyfriend is as bad and quite possibly worse. Their relationship comes off as awkward and quite cringy and it’s pretty obvious that there’s a big age gap between the actors, which makes things worse. Shively turns in one of the worst performances I’ve seen in a horror movie, completely obnoxious and insufferable. The parents, while they are better characters and acted, still aren’t good at all. Don’t even get me started on those kid actors, not gonna do it. Overall the family doesn’t even come across as believable in the slightest. Pacing is also a huge issue. This is quite possibly one of the most boring movies I’ve ever seen. Too many moments of characters walking down a hallway or not even doing anything for extremely long periods of time. So it’s overall as fun as poking a pillow once every few seconds for an hour and a half. Editing? Yeah this movie was edited, by a 3 year old who doesn’t understand how to use iMovie. Conversations are cut off while transitioning into the next scene and sometimes it will transition into the middle of a conversation so you have no idea what’s been said. Ok the scares, OVER FREAKING USE OF FALSE SCARES. For one they aren’t even good, and for another they are so annoying that they make you want to through a brick through your screen. Also the movie is so slowed paced that there’s no tension what’s so ever and I didn’t even care if the characters lived or not, so that didn’t help. There’s also so many logic issues, I’m going to list a few of them: 1: Why didn’t Alex show her parents all the footage of the weird stuff? 2: How in the world are these laptops running all the time? This is set in 2011 for goodness sake! 3: Why does Alex grab the camera first thing in the morning at like 2 or 3? That wasn’t even necessary, we could have waiting until later in the morning and she could have told Ben what she saw or something. It would have trimmed a good amount of runtime 4: Why the frick is Alex trespassing? Stupid little dolt 5: I don’t even understand why Alex is even walking this slowly, this happens in like every single horror movie. Just pick up the pace! Also for adding anything new, this movie fails to add anything interesting to the franchise. Oh wait, KINECT! HOW could I forget, product placement is literally the coolest and scariest thing you could put in a movie, I take everything I said back! Another thing is that this movie is so incredibly ugly to look at. Why do I need to see your face an inch a way from the camera every 10 minutes, that’s not necessary! These movies never look all that good but this is the worst looking one out of the lot, it’s like for me staring into the mirror for an hour and a half, it’s super uncomfortable. What in the hecking heck was that finale? It just got crazy for like a few minutes then it ended? Does she live?!?! I hope not. There’s also some stupid dialogue thrown into the mix as well. Here’s an example: Stupid bratty teenager nearly gets hit by a car because her stupid idiot self wasn’t paying attention to the road. Also dumb teenager: Friggin Prius. Like please somebody just make this movie not exist for the rest of eternity please. This movie is not scary, I did not jump one single time and I usually do jump at horror movies. This movie is also FILLED with cliches. Oh look, her parents aren’t believing her. Oh look, creepy kid. Two creepy kids?! Wooooo hoooo. No, not woo hoo, boo hoo. Everything about this movie is awful. I hate it with a passion of 1,000 super powered goldfish and a hand me down Tesla that’s about to blow up. I want to find this movie and destroy every physical and digital copy imaginable so no one has to ever watch this trite again
