Yep. That's what's really changed since then. The stars of any era could go up against each other just fine. But the average bench player now is just so much better than the average 90s bench player.
@@qdontae6 bruh why you starting an argument💀 I was just tryna say that MJ airballed a free throw too before in case you didn't know😭 it ain't that deep if you really want to start an argument over nothin then keep talking.
Lmao that first Jordan airball was brutal. Also, the full court press is so bizarre to look at. Like teams actually did it quite a bit in the 90s. It would be so surreal to see it tiday; maybe the first 2 or 3 times it's done it might disrupt the opposition, but after that they would straight rip it apart.
@@rapperbucks3203The rules weren't that different in terms of dribbling compared to now, except for the level of carrying on hesis and crosses. If the NBA today enforced the rules to that they did in the 90s, players today would still be way, way better dribblers. Also you don't need to dribble to break a press.
Ppl ain’t done with the 90’s, cuz they talk about players drafted IN the 90’s. Kobe, KG, Tim, AI, Shaq, like the very same ppl saying “we done with the 90’s” ain’t even done with em lmao
@@AR-en6qxdid you really just say the 20s the latest you can say is the 00s even though all these dudes were insane in the 90s even if they werent at their peak
@@AR-en6qx Shaq was drafted in 92. And don't forget he had Penny. 1996 draft alone. You do realize MJ and the Bulls were still reigning, as the oldest team mind you, up to 1998. Shaq and Kobe couldn't beat 90s Malone and Stockton. And they were old. Basically, it just seems really weird how, as SOON as Jordan retired from the Bulls, EVERYBODY'S awesome now. That is such a small window.
That’s the biggest difference between the nba these last 6-8 years vs 90s, 2000s, and even early 2010s the role players are overall much more skilled today
Anyone who says the 90s sucked simply doesn't watch enough current ball either. Terrible defense can be found every night in the NBA. Stay casual my friends.
my issue with saying these players are too soft is that these 90s dudes are SKINNY. Like saying steph curry cant play in 90s ball and then watching reggie miller (skinny steph curry w/ no handle) is CRAZY
Yeah old heads act like players were getting intentionally injured which isn’t the case. The bad boy pistons were known as the bad boys because other teams didn’t play like them. The rest of the league hated the bad boys and wanted their physical play out of the league. And hard fouls is evidence you can’t play defense. Steph would start taunting and laughing at teams for fouling him
mj is fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i beenn saying this he is gay1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MH IS A ALOSER FR FRF RF RF RF RF RFR FR FR FR FR HE IS GAYYY
i noticed that shooters would run to the ball to get a shot and centers and fowards would fight for position inside the post and that everyone shared the role of being a playmaker
The amount of kids who just saw the title and just rushed to the comments to type “We done with the 90’s” 😂 Ppl really should’ve stopped reproducing after like, 96 💀
10:43 I will take Aaron Gordon over Horace Grant. Better handle, better shooter, 6 foot 9 with 7 foot wingspan, better passer, more athletic, a dunk champion, hungry on defense who can switch 1-5. All day I will take Aaron Gordon over Horace Grant
@@slinkybeans2442 Gordon plays what I can see as all defensive team caliber defense. Gordon has the tools to be an elite defender and now that he's on a good team, you see his talent. I think if you look at game film and then dive into advanced numbers, Nuggets Gordon is a better defender than Grant. I think they serve the same role on their teams, a defensive focused power forward that does the dirty work. Gordon has a lot of Shawn Kemp on him, very explosive athlete who jumps out the gym, that's not how Horace Grant played.
Ngl after you know how mj played and have seen how amazing he was off ball. It’s genuinely mind boggling trying to picture him with lebron. Like just stop and imagine one of if not the second best off ball player in history with lebron. That offense is ungodly ngl.
Bahaha the one that has a fake beard and does an old man voice is so funny! It gets funnier everytime! Even though he hits 1k before halftime its still sooooo funny! So fresh and original and witty 👍
Difference is whenever Giannis gets to the bucket he shoots like 75% and like 30% whenever he shoots. Jordan shot like 50% going right and 10% going left.
I've seen some of the same "bad plays" in plenty of today's games. I can pick a game of almost any time and nitpick plays here and there. If you look at the numbers, the percentages really aren't really better today in all ranges except maybe a 3-4% difference at 3. Show me the player shooting 80%. Guys were dealing with real defense, and they were expending energy playing defense on the other end and hustling. Scottie was actually a very good player. There were plenty of good role players and 3-point shooters. The very bottom player might be better today, but there were plenty of guys in the 90s with better fundamentals than guys today. Too many guys today just rely on natural ability because today's game allows it
The Bulls were never that skilled offensively. That's why people are speaking about how great MJ is. He was able to lead a team with poor offensive help to 6 championships.
@@goddammitnappa1617 It was MJ>>>Scottie>>>>>everyone else. Pippen's offense is reliant on his athleticism and energy. His dribbling, shooting, off ball movement, move set, efficiency is meh. But he can score 20 points any given night. Which is enough to help MJ win.
@@brianduru3753 I'm saying, when you look forward to players 'joining forces'.... Chuck joining MJ in the past, was an option that Chuck actually turned down.... Not upset with his decision. I'm just saying had he, that would have been a MONSTER to try and overcome.... Incredible (possibly) storyline.....
Bulls MJ was on the way out when I started paying attention to hoops as a kid. Kobe was my favorite player until Vince Carter came on the scene. Jordan is an all time great who could adapt into any era. He locked up guys who weren’t breaking out the crosses but Grant, Penny, and Kobe got him often.
I've been preaching for a while now that Kobe and Jordan didn't actually play that much alike, glad to see 2 of my top 10 fav content creators agreeing
Yeah the top players from the 90s would be good today for sure the problem with the 90s is the 3rd/4th best players on teams in wouldnt make the rotation today.
Lol what's interesting is when the MAVS GO ON A 30 NOTHING RUN, IN 2024, THAT'S THE SAME AS WHAT WE'RE WATCHING IN THE 90S. AT TIMES THERE'S NO SCORING FOR THE OPPOSING TEAM
The three times jordan was forced to his left he made all three shots 3-3 with his left hand I have one question to the people Why would jordan gi to the keft when the defenders are not forcing him to go left.
@@NewWorldDreams47what do you want from mj he can finish left shoot left but he had more turnovers going left than right so that means he can’t go left now
Let the foul at 9:55 happen today and they'll be screaming SOFTTTT and NO DEFENSEEEEEE. Like ya'll didn't play better D ya'll just couldn't hit water if you were in a boat lol
I just want to say, every single game ive watched this year i have seen an airball... even from the ft line... i could go 2 weeks back in the 90s before i seen an airball.... not to mention the missed dunks... easiest shot in the game, and more are missed now than ever before
@@holeyschitt not a lie... An observation.... I'll admit i have no numbers.... But i watched an airball a game this season... Fact, i did... Its a lot more like accidental basketball, as the great kobe once said
