To be fair, it wasn't all Spongebob's fault. The crowd was basically peer pressuring him to do it even when he tried not to.

@@BeeKee404 Even so, he shouldn’t have caved in and continued to humiliate Sandy in front of the audience. But he learned his lesson the hard way and made up for it in the end.

Just remember “rude jokes” is what comedy is and not too be soft about jokes as not all jokes need to be g rated. This was common knowledge til people turned soft near the end of the 2000s.

That's why you gotta become a Billy and support them to get uncut episodes. But I love how they'll sometimes edit the reactions in a way where it's funny. Like the time they did 'Squid on Strike" and it then went like: "And you're gonna make picket signs!?" "NOOOOOO, Suidward!" As for the fish from the Squirrel Joke episodes. Yeah, that was him, and she told him to "Look again!". So you know he was waiting for his chance..

Right, the issue was that he was only throwing shade at ONE person/group exclusively. His excuses of "oh I'm just messing around, we all gotta make fun of ourselves from time to time," should apply to all the people he wasn't joking about. If you're gonna say shit like that then you gotta spread the "love." I do like how the final comedy night played out, first he started with the easy old squirrel joke, got everybody softened up in a good mood, then he threw in a curve ball, starting with himself (actually making jokes about himself like he kept claiming he loved to do, but hadn't ever done before), it went over well, ok, the flood gates are open, time to roast everybody in the audience. Now he's actually doing what he said he would do

SpongeBob is innocent and doesn't know any better. He has a Childlike Mind and personality. Blame the people who were treating her badly and believing the jokes to be true.

​@@KyleEvra I mean, 1. Sandy is his friend, and I don't think he would make jokes like that about someone he didn't know. One of his main excuses was they're good friends, so of course she knows he's just kidding around, he's not being serious. 2. Sandy, the only squirrel in the room, and living in their town, isn't a good example of any of the characteristics he attributes to her. She's not stupid (to the contrary she was able to explore and live on the seafloor by utilizing sophisticated technology and built a functional rocket ship), she doesn't "smell" (as far as I know, but even if she did, she wears an insulated astronaut suit), etc. The joke is built upon a stereotype of which she is a poor example to begin with.

@@musicarain4702 there are a lot that just sort of…. End….. with no real conclusion or lesson learned. The story will just cut off. Some examples I can think of are Wormy, Shanghaied, Doing Time, Idiot Box, Snowball Effect. It’s not the worst thing in the world, I just liked that this episode’s ending was clearly planned and everyone wins.

It's like just when you think they told a joke so funny that nothing they can possibly do will top it, they throw in the "my wallets," as the last straw to break Manray, omg my sides, also gotta love the "it tickles, BUT ITS WORTH IT!" continues to whoop his ass

It is a bit upsetting ngl to see people change their tune on this one and act like the message is somehow "bigotry is okay" when no, it's about not singling out minorities

the writers easily could've ended with SpongeBob telling lame jokes again, but I'm glad that he learned how to be funny AND fair at the same time.
