Maybe that is for the best. It makes movies like this that more of a gem. Plus, we've seen what happens to any film style that catches on, it gets done to death. Just look at The Matrix and slow-mo action or Rocky with the workout montages. Shit, remember when an extended universe was super cool? Now every studio with an IP that has even a mild connection feels like they have to make one. Some times its just best to remain a lone star in the night sky.
this movie was ahead of its time in so many aspects ngl the water simulation holds up do damn well Jeff Bridges was a perfect cast Chicken Joe was peak I stan just about everything about this movie
Yeah but it makes it so that we don’t get poor attempts to recreate it. If another film like this gets made it’ll probably have a lot of care and thought put into it
Surf's up is peak. Rewatched it 2 days ago while drunk af with some pizza and that was one of the best experiences in past few months. And the videogame on Wii was also peak.

This is one of the most underrated movies ever, the making of this movie was fricken incredible! They made a whole virtual world for the movies and then recorded it with a real cameraman!
Sony was actually really revolutionary with this, they had set up rigs that allow them to manually control "virtual cameras" and aim them around to better capture the skakey cam of documentaries...and they continued to revolutionize by NEVER USING IT AGAIN, or bothering ti revolutionize until Spider-Verse

The way this movie was filmed is actually incredible and im not sure its been done since. They basically animated an entire 3d scene, includeing like the background characters and the scenery, then they mapped it and tracked physical camera movements through out it. Or some shit like that, Idk Im just a comment on a C tier youtube vid
A man 3 rows ahead of me on a plane had a heart attack while we were in the air. I don't have any medical experience so I couldn't help, but there was also nowhere to go, so I just had to sit there and watch as the medical professionals they did have on board laid the man down in the aisle and tried to resuscitate him with CPR and the AED, eventually leading to convulsions. Surfs Up was on the airplane entertainment system, so I put that on as a distraction. That was just a week ago too, what a coincidence.
