21:40- 21:41 Speaking of which, up until this movie, Woody still had his burn spot on his forehead from Sid in the last movie but when the toy repair man came, he fixed it up. And it stays that way for the rest of the series.

Also remember this was around mid 90’s. The internet as we know it now didn’t exist. You couldn’t just look stuff up anytime you wanted. That show from the 50’s, if it wasn’t being played on re-runs, then nobody would have known about it outside of collectors like Al.

This was definitely one of the few sequels that actually surpassed the first movie.

You know the joke about Pixar movies always making you cry? I think this movie is the originator of that. Jesse's backstory is really sad, and the song accompanying it is also heartbreaking. Also, I think the popular fan theory is that Andy's parents are divorced because, if you remember, in the first movie they were moving to another house rather suddenly before his birthday, and his mom didn't have a wedding ring either.

There is an actual story behind woodys origins in Toy Story told by its original creator, accordingly woody belonged to Andy’s dad, but he unfortunately died from polio disease but gave Andy woody befor he died.

One of my favourite facts about this Toy Story and the first is the sorta rivalry that it has with Wallace and Gromit. When Wallace and Gromit's 'The Strange Trousers' came out, Pixar saw it and thought 'this is the benchmark of animation, we need to one up them!' which resulted in the ending of Toy Story 1, which was considered the most impressive animated action scene up to the point. Then Aardman retorted with the ending of Chicken Run, to which Toy Story 2 retorted with the ending of it's movie.

It was actually confirmed that Andy's dad was also named Andy and died from an illness he had since he was a kid, Woody was his father's toy and he got put away when he was Andy's age, years later the current Andy we know found Woody and since he looked exactly like his father did when he was a kid, Woody thinks he's still with the old Andy (the father)

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is an incredible series that I wish got more recognition, it’s not even on Disney+ like most of the other animated series are; I really hope you guys watch it for the channel!

An important thing to remember about Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: Tim Allen couldn't reprise his role as Buzz for the whole series, they got Patrick Warburton as Buzz. However, Tim Allen did reprise his role for the direct-to-video movie Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins which is basically the origins of the series that actually has two versions. One with Tim Allen and the other with Warburton.

Toy Story 2 isn't just my favorite Pixar sequel, but this is my all time favorite Pixar movie, I remember watching this movie so many times on VHS as a kid, now that is nostalgia ^_^

The producers of the show had announced a sell off of Woody's figures that they never opened because they cancelled the show. Andy (not knowing that the show was cancelled) wrote a letter to the company explaining his situation (he was like 6 or 7 years old) and the person who read felt so bad that they sent him back the only copy of Woody they owned. Well basically Andy's father never actually ended up playing with Woody, maybe once but we know that when he got out of the hospital he was already an adult, then he met Andy's mom got married and had 2 kids. The last time he saw Woody he was still 7 years old. The day before dying it was Andy Jr's 6th birthday and he gift him Woody, still in the box. That's why Woody will always be Andy Jr favorite toy. Woody, unfortunately still doesn't realise that first Andy who wrote his name under his boot it's not Andy Jr's but Andy's father.

I like that they use real life situations in this film but subtle Petes hate for space toys makes sense cause for a while Cowboy western films were like how Videogame movies/shows are today that are becoming popular, it died in the 60s cause sci-fi came out and became the most popular genre, then 70s was Martial arts movies, then 80s was Horror and then 90s-2000s was like edgy genre like X files or detective stories and then 2010-2019 was the superhero genre and now we’re in a video game movie/show genre .

Also yeah if I remember the story correctly they were making this film and I think they done 50% of it and then as you said someone was accidentally deleting it luckily they were able to salvage some remaining footage left but for a large part a chunk of the movie had been deleted so they kept what they had but then the animators had to pretty much redo the scenes that were deleted but had a very small window of time crunch so a lot of animators stayed working on this late at night so they didn’t have to push the film back and by the end of it this is the product we got when a bunch of animatorss had redo hours of work in a small amount of time. That gives me respect for those animators for even giving us this level of quality in short amount of time

Fun Fact: according to the lore of the show the toys are based on in the movie Woody and Jessie is cousin's.

There is only ONE "sherif woody" doll the world.

The reason why the woody doll is such a rare toy is because that doll is literally the only doll they ever made from the show. It was a one off prototype that came into Andy’s fathers hands because of a childhood illness he had called…like a make a wish foundation sort of scenario you could say because the father had polio that either ran from his side of the family, or was just an illness he unfortunately had. The sickness was one of those where they had no other way to treat it and had spent his last moments i believe on the same chair you see Andy and woody playing on in the first film, or in his bedroom. The woody doll was handed to Andy as his fathers last request, like literally moments before he died his father told him to go retrieve this box (packaging/container that woody was kept in) and bring it to him, but by the time he came back with it his father had already passed away. Fun fact aswell, we have no idea what Andy’s father looks like. the only thing we can go off of is that the only pictures of Andy’s father can be located in the opening scene of the first film with the pictures in the background, there are photos Andy, and photos of a young boy in reddish hair and interestingly enough, Andy’s father was also named Andy too but his name was Andy Sr and the name written under woodys boot was never written by son Andy but by Andy Sr himself. Quite a sad reveal if you ask me, I read about this during one sleepless night during 2020

According to the maker of the movie, Woody is a prototype toy that was sold in an auction and Andy’s grandfather won it. Which he then passed down to Andy’s father and Andy’s father passed it down from Andy. And the father’s name was Andy.

I believe there was also a movie for the Buzz Lightyear TV series as a sort of "Prequel" to set some things up before officially airing the show on Disney Channel back in the day.

In tarot, Ace of Spades means Death, hence why all the cards are Ace of Spades in Woody's Nightmare. Also, the nightmare scene is recycled from Toy Story, which also had Andy dropping Woody in the trash can when he didn't want to play with him anymore.

Wheezy's story about Andy's mom telling Andy that his squeaker was going to get fixed just to calm Andy down reminds me of my own childhood experience with my Teddy Ruxpin. I used to like messing around with its mouth and eyes, until one day I accidentally popped one of its eyes into its head. I took it to my dad, and asked if he could fix it. He said he would, and then took it off my hands. A few days later, he returned with it good as new. As a kid, I legitimately thought that he fixed it, and was so happy. But as I grew older, the reality of how that would've been at all possible started to occur to me, and I began to suspect that he probably just bought a new one, and pretended like he fixed it because maybe I wouldn't want a new one. I've never asked him about it, though. Perhaps because part of me, even as I'm nearing 40, still kind of likes to cling to the possibility that he did somehow actually fix it.

There seemed to be some bewilderment about the Buzz Lightyear show having 65 episodes, which seems unthinkable today-that was the typical number of episodes a show needed for syndication, and so that usually ended up being the minimum. Now we're lucky get 20 in a single season.

I didn't know the "casting couch" scene with Stinky Pete and the twins was removed!? I saw that on DVD when the movie first came out as a kid. I didn't understand it as casting couch obviously but I got that Stinky Pete was perving o the Twins lol.

Toy Story 2 after many years will get such criticism for certain, but everything in this second movie is such a great time. The storytelling, character interactions, comedy. This is such a good sequel, "I don't wanna use my head!!"

Toy Story 2. My god. There has never been a movie that makes me feel so many emotions like this. Movies, newer or older will never ever replace the emotions i feel towards this movie since i was a baby. It warms my heart, it makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it makes me cheer. If i could, i would take any chance to own every form of media that Toy Story 2 was released at. It means a lot to me that much, and I'm happy I'm not the only one who has this movie alone to have it as a favorite. To top it all off, it was a rushed movie, but it took a miracle for a rushed piece of art to be a timeless masterpiece.
