The Ginger Guy (your Dad) reminds me of the star of a children's television show called Captain Kangaroo. Not sure if you've heard of it, but the resemblance - especially with that red sweater - is something!

@@joshuakelly8103 AGCO has had no association with Case IH. Nothing whatsoever and they certainly did not buy any former Case assets in the UK or anywhere else that I can think of. It’s not even as if you mistook AGCO for ARGO because ARGO didn’t buy any UK assets from Case either. You just are plain wrong with your whole post. It’s just rubbish.

@@hedydd2 I did confuse ARGO SpA and AGCO. It's a matter of public record that ARGO purchased the Doncaster Tractor Plant and associated assets from CASE in 2001, then rapidly ran it into the ground with it ceasing to be profitable in 2003 and closing in 2007. The Wikipedia article for "McCormick Tractors" or a cursory Google for "CASE Tractors Doncaster" will show BBC and Doncaster Free Press articles substantiating my original post. Unfortunately posting links to those articles results in the comment being automatically deleted by RU-vid (including an edited version of my original comment, correcting the confusion), I presume this is a setting Tom has enabled due to excessive spam.

When I was a kid I loved agricultural shows, actually still do. Ford always let us sit on the Dextas & Majors. Massey Ferguson weren’t so generous.

Tom theres this company called Sherpa that make small loaders you can stand on the back of we have one for mucking out stables you can get muck grabs, buckets etc for them but they would be I deal for the calfing shed

It is amazing how far equipment has come since the 1960’s. I started out learning to drive a tractor on a 1947 Ford. Nothing but the 3 point hitch was powered. No cab, no air conditioning and if it rained you got wet! Wouldn’t trade the experience for the world!

I suggest you look at a prodig shear grab. They are made in country carlow here in Ireland. They are built very well and the steel used is very strong and I’m sure they are realistically priced. They are worth a look anyway Tom

It’s worth having a look at the Alö Quicke shear grab. They build them in their own facilities in China believe it or not. They are as good as any other and may be very competitive, depending on the dealer’s stocking policy.

Stop using a telehandler, and get an actual tractor ..or use a bobcat, smaller and can use alot of attachments

For me you can’t beat Manitou, present machine is a MT1440A, it’s got an integrated remote control man basket and 3t hydraulic hook block. £25K more than the MT1440 Easy but well worth it.

I think Manitoes are much better than Merlos.. Quite small, but powered and strong. For farming the best choice ;)

Have ran a wylie engineering sheargrab for the past 28 ish years, yes it’s had a set of pins, bushes full knife replacement and a bottom beam as it wore out its still working nearly every day feeding cows. Yes price is a factor in buying any bit of machinery/equipment but id be looking at build quality, finishing of the grab and how easy it is to replace a knife or tooth on it as it’s probably one of the most important pieces of machinery on your farm after the bulk tank and parlour

3:23 that kit right there is a PAIN in the ass to clean. there is a warning lable telling you not to stand on it but you have to stand on it to wash it off properly and it get's slipper AF. and them MF are really good tractors. the farm i worked att only had MF

who is that guy at 5:50 paying merlo are paid royalty for a sideways engine... i dont think so, there dozens of other machinery with similar engines mounted that way including carriages, fork lifts, for example our over head 100t hoist crane has a engine mounted horizontally

@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer longitudinal mounted engines have been around for donkeys years, they even used them in lancaster bombers... spitfire... huricane... so what you mean is they have specific patent on a specific engine design, which means i can in fact design my own gearbox and add it to an engine and still mount it in a telehandler... no royalty payment required...
