WE WENT TO ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE (in Melbourne) 

It's tradition on ANZAC day for veterans to get together to raise a beer in a toast to their mates who didn't come home. That's why the pubs are open early. They go to the dawn service first to pay their respects to the fallen, then raise a toast to them at the pub afterwards.

As a local Melbournian i think the postcard is perfect, love the traditional tram. I hope (if your stay at melbourne has already finished by the time this is uploaded) that your time in melbourne has been great and i hope that our people have shown you a pleasant time. Fabulous to see you discovered Pellegrini's, one of my fav places and it is true about the 1st espresso machine in Aus. Also, the 1st pizza place in Aus was in Lygon Street, Carlton, our little Italy. I have lived in Melbourne for 42 years and originally from Queensland (yep, I'm an old bugga) and Queensland is totally different to Melb and Syd. Make sure you go to Healesville Sanctuary, part of Melbourne Zoo but north east of Melbourne in the 'bush'. The best place to see Australian animals up close and personal. Love watching your channel.

Pelligrini's has long been the best-known traditional coffee shop of Melbourne. A couple of years ago a Muslim looking for infidels to kill stabbed the owner of Pelligrini's to death about where you were standing.

Hi. I'm from Melbourne and I liked your enthusiasm for the place i call home. I've always thought it was a special place, so to have that re-affirmed made me proud. I also like that you didnt focus on the glitzy stuff and sat in parks walked around, and just chilled out. It was an easy watch and you felt like friends.

Very much enjoying your videos guys. You may have already left Melbourne by now, but given that your penguin experience at Philip Island didn’t really work out, do you know that you can see Little Penguins ( they are no longer called Fairy penguins) if you jump on the 96 tram to St Kilda (25 minutes). I’m a local here, but I am still super impressed that you can see these beautiful creatures against a backdrop of the city skyline. You may also see a Rakali, a native Australian water rat, that has a fleshy white tip on the end of the tail like a Ringtail possum. You will also be able to see Luna Park, with the world’s oldest still operating roller coaster and, perhaps, sample some cakes from the remaining cake shops in Acland Street which were established by Eastern Europeans in the 1930’s and 1940’s. I trust that you will continue to enjoy your travels up the east coast.

LOL, Great video again! I'm SO glad you guys made the effort to get up with all of us who went to a dawn service. They happen all over the country and are amazing. I think our one at Cronulla had even more people than it did last year! and the number of children and kids seems to be growing each year too! It is a very special day, on which a few things special things happen only on that day. You know it's a special time/day when you're standing with thousands of others in the pouring rain and no one is going home! I hope you guys are having a great trip back home to see family. I'm so looking forward to your trip north when you get back and making your way up to Sydney. It's my city and I hope you like it too. The thing about Aussies and Kiwis is that we always take the pi** out of each other, mainly because the Aussies always steal all our sh*t (phar lap and pavlova to name two) but will always back each other 100% when it come to it. ANZAC ....respect.

Hi guys great to see that you got to the Dawn Service on Anzac Day. The Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne is Australia's largest Dawn Service. I remember attending the service in Melbourne in 2015 (100 year celebration of Anzac Day) and they estimated the crowd to have been 160k on that day. My heart broke a little when you had a barrito. When you are back in Melbourne (or Sydney) find a Vietnamese Roll. Lots of migrants came to Oz in the late 70's and brought with them French Backed rolls stuffed with lots of meats and salads and condiments that ooze. What makes them extra special is the fresh chillies and coriander... sooooo good. As a white kid growing up in the outer-suburbs of Melb there was a lot of fear of Vietnamese culture from my peers (ie. racism). But experiences like eating my first V-Roll was a defining moment for me breaking through those prejudices.

Tia, your postcards are gorgeous 🤩What are you using to design them? Like any specific programs? It’s really inspiring seeing you guys do things you love like travel and create beautiful things like the postcards and videos. You’re making the most out of your lives. If you want to go to a proper melbourne cafe when you return id recommend industry beans (fitzroy), terror twilight or everyday coffee (collingwood). The food at the first two is also great.

So your 1st city was Perth then Adelaide two of the top 4 most laid back city's in Australia, only exceeded by Darwin in the Northern Territory, and Hobart in Tasmania. Then after traveling in the most desolate parts of our coast, you go to Melbourne the 2nd largest city in our country and wonder why its feels a little busy. LOL

A side note but a very very sad one; one of the co- founders of this iconic Cafe in Melbourne you guys visited. Mr Sisto Malaspina, who had run Pellegrini's cafe since 1974, so very sadly was fatally stabbed by a terrorist attacker 3 years ago. He and his cafe were one of the famous cafes credited with pioneering Melbourne’s famous coffee culture

When you return to Melbourne, you should visit the suburbs of the inner North. Particularly Brunswick Street Fitzroy and Smith Street Collingwood and the night time vibes of Sydneyroad Brunswick. I really think you'd really enjoy seeing people of your age out and about.

Good video but re coffee...if you're using a takeaway cup, and don't need the lid, consider taking it off to drink it. Way better.

I went this year's Anzac day dawn service and I served with royal Australian navy cadets from.1994 to 1995 and its been 33years now and im a veteran also ran cadets
