Brewzle, if you are ever in the Hilton Head area; Id love to be your local contact. There are several good stores in the area and then we could go to Savannah for some larger stores
I was up there a couple weeks ago and stopped at John O's in Elizabethtown on the way up. The Peerless DO was ~90, so I grabbed a bottle. Glad I did, because the price at the distillery blew me away. Having said that, their tasting was amazing. $18 and we ended up with 6 different pours. I think the host was a little toasted at the end of the day.
I've been watching a lot of your videos lately....so I figured it was time to subscribe!..I think it's very cool how you try and find bottles from distilleries in the states you visit...thanks, keep the videos coming!!
I will definitely be spending my hard earned money at watch hill proper. I have much respect for people who skirt around bs laws. Great vid . Thank you 🙏
Just discovered your you tube. What a joy to watch. Just an average guy with the usual JD and JB in the cabinet. Never knew the hundreds of different bourbons. Lesson from my wife. I don't shop so she shops and can't make up her mind so the next time she goes it is gone and I say to her (stuff she can easily afford) "look when you see something and you want it, get it because when you make up your mind it probably will be gone." She doesn't listen but that is good advice for you. If you see something you can afford and haven't seen it before, get it. That's all I am going to say.
Glad you guys ended up back in town and at that Evergreen Liquors. One of my favorite spots in town. Nice humidor too if you’re into cigars. Really good selection. Keep doing what you do!
Peerless does that. When I visited their distillery I was shocked that their prices for bottles were more than what I see them go for in stores. All their bottles were more expensive than what they go for in stores. It was very disappointing.
I’ve been told the distilleries have to buy their own product back from the distributors and they won’t price below the stores because they don’t want to undercut them. Personally, if I like the distillery I don’t mind throwing a few more bucks their way especially if it’s something I can’t find anywhere else. I like Peerless but that’s a steep of a mark up!
Dang TJ you were in my neck of the woods and I didn’t know! I see Crissy from evergreen made a cameo. She’s a friend of mine from high school. And the Big Bourbon Club! We’re partnering with them with the group I belong to, the Louisville bourbon society. Good stuff! Great to see some familiar places in the video!
Had my first bourbon counseling in Aiken, South Carolina, and I couldn’t name A single Bourbon. But I had a Lot fun with friends and family. The winner was Kentucky silk that you can only get in Kentucky. So the cheapest bourbon won. Four roses single barrel special came in second place.
i just said to wife we should go to that last store when we go to the US next month to visit our daughter... her reply was "not bloody likely... you in there we wont f-in see you all day!" she is right too lol what is funny you make a 26 minute video but it takes me 3 hours to watch because i pause it to check the bottles in shot lol
Gotta agree... great answer. How many zeros does that have on it? ALL OF THEM! Sounds like every other store i go to these days with anything that is remotely "allocated". Same answer when you ask the price and they see your face after they tell you. "But its hard to find". Lol. No its not. Literally almost every store has it. Its just hard to find for anywhere close to retail. No bottle in particular. Again, just anything remotely allocated. Lol. Ok thats my rant. Mainly bc i just finished my last bottle of Eagle Rare (ive never paid over $45 for) and now everywhere i go its hiked up.
I really loved Crown Royal Cask 16 when it was available. Blessed to have gotten a case and shared it with my good friends and family. They all loved it! Just sharing my taste and maybe get a recommendation from you to try
Great place, the old bus route with out of state snobs living in 740k townhomes around a whiskey castle. GM is suspect. Make a reservation, small kitchen, long food times.
I think if you sign up for a tasting at Peerless they will let you buy the bottles from the tasting and one is always (maybe?) a barrel pick. I am pretty sure.
randomly stopped at liquor store during lunch break and happened to find a Blanton's for the first time, pretty pumped. up in MN so harder to find here
In NC, you'll never see an EHT SB or Weller on a shelf. Strictly allocated and/or lottery items that sell out within hour(s) of being received at a store.
James E Pepper is SOOOO overrated. Yes its a nice bottle and its decent juice but it doesnt deserve all the hype people give it. Glad you got the Copper and Kings that is way more interesting than the Pepper. Their Butchertown Brandy finished in Kentucky Bourbon and New American Oak Barrel's is fantastic. Crazy that Peerless marks up their bottles at the distillery more than the stores do too.
@@Brewzle I went to Louisville week after you for PGA and got lucky with Lux Row getting the newest Blood Oath drop. #10. And at Makers with a 2023 BEP.
Wellar and Michters, absolutely! Quality juice in both those bottles. Just when I thought the 200+ bottles of bourbon we have at my restaurant was a lot....damn!
i know this is gonna sound crazy but can you still get jim beam 7yr old? not the new jim beam black but the old style bottles before they discontinued it. i know its not a greatly wanted bottle and i honestly dont know anything about whiskey hunting besides watching this but the old style 7 year old holds a sentimental value to me and a family member.
RD1 white labels from a new 100m$ distillery built out towards bowling green. If you're ever in Lexington you can go to their restaurant. I have half of one of my rickhouses filled with their barrels
Peerless has an awesome tasting at the distillery, but the bottles there cost more than they do at most of the shops around town. At least that was my experience the one time I went..
Yall should come to Little Rock, AR and do a distillery takeover at Rock Town Distillery. Everything they are making is their juice and delicious. They deserve the publicity this channel would provide. Love the content.
I was recently in Las Vegas having dinner at The Delmonico Steakhouse. One fella in our dinner party was extremely knowledgeable about bourbon and he introduced me to Jefferson's Ocean Bourbon. My knowledge of bourbon is limited if nonexistent. To make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me, I ordered another pour. So far, I've collected a bottle of Knob Creek Single Barrel Select to take to my annual hunting trip with other veterans. I'm looking to add 2 or 3 more bottles for the trip. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for the channel!
wish i knew you were coming..literally live 30 seconds from that first liquor store..the owner Rocky is a great guy and probably would have cut you a deal on some good bottles..great video!
Been subscribed for about a week now, I’m fully invested in the channel, I live in the UK so hunting bourbon won’t be as easy but I got my first buffalo trace the day after I subscribed and I’m halfway through the bottle already 🥲
Watch Hill Proper might have influenced the creation of one of the more unique places in St. Louis. We have bar called Barrel House that has somewhere around 20 barrels on site that you can create your perfect blend from. It's really neat and a cool experience, but not cheap. Its like $140 per person but you do get a ton of samples and a 750ml bottle of your blend. These are barrels that are loosely bunged inside a air controlled event space so they are bleeding ethanol constantly (aka, slightly flat as proof slowly errodes). Still, pretty cool for people who just want to have a barrel experience without having connections to do barrel picks.
We stopped by the rabbit hole distillery and tried their flight - I was thoroughly unimpressed. Great bottle/marketing the bourbons all had a really weird aftertaste. Curious if you liked that bottle
Been binge watching your hunt vids. Great content @Brewzle! If you ever find your way back down to Texas...specifically San Antonio area, hit me up! Would be awesome to do some bourbon hunting with you. Keep up the great work!
The top dog of bourbon. The Don mega. Walks in your distillery and an employee does not say yeaaaa let’s see what we can do for you. Give me your name and number and we will contact you asap! Where did common sense go?
My Monk's Road was the biggest mistake I've ever had. Literally saw dust in a bottle. I could not mix it or water it down to be palatable. I got played, unfortunately, you did as well. Log still is NOT the way. And most Peerless DO are $90 throughout the Lousiville area. Kind of got shafted on that price...
peerless double oaked I get it here in NJ at $76 and I get Henry Mckenna 10 at $49.99 probably the best prices on them bottles in the country. But anything BT is highly inflated here in NJ.
hey theres a bottle of dugger and seaguls single double barrel potato tequilla. has a oaky nutty buiscuts kinda wiskey taste lol. hmmm this one has kinda a leather oaky kinda nutty steak flavor. chevy or ford double barrel? barrel barrel. blantons single single triple. rhyyee wheat nutty oaky barrel
Everytime TJ comes to Louisville he misses 😢😂. He needs a new tour guide. The place to be was Middletown Kroger, LB, and EG. They had Pappy, GTS, King of Kentucky, willet purple top Weller full proof, etc. St Matthews was doing a reset so nothing was out. Also you always speak with the store leader at Kroger's, everything isn't always out front.
