I spent a day wheeling the dunes there last summer. It was a lot of fun. At 15 PSI, I felt like I’d almost have to try to get stuck, still, I was careful to start out slow and always backed “straight down” a dune if I had to.

They’ve actually done environmental studies already at this beach that favored 4x4s really not causing much impact, but the environmental groups ignore those studies. Like the rare bird found at oceano has the highest population than any other California beach, they are thriving there. Also the “delicate grass” that 4x4s destroy is actually not native to that beach and is an invasive species.

Are they closing for good? Or it’s still pending ?
