This is beautifully edited. I almost wish I had never read the books or seen the movies because his death absolutely crushed me. I know he’s a fictional character but it breaks my heart.

I read the Maze Runner series when I was in 6th grade. I remember that I immediately knew that these two boys had chemistry together, and that’s before I ever shipped anything else. When I started to read the Death Cure, I started to get concerned *spoilers up ahead for the book*, and tried to reassure myself that James would never actually take Newt away. When the guards outside of Denver took Newt to the Crank palace, I began to panic a bit more, and my heart broke when I read how Newt was behaving, especially when they left him behind. On page 250, I’ll have you know that something inside of me actually died. Newt represented more than the glue, he represented the survivor, someone who’s seen hell crash down all around them, and somehow managed to pick themselves up. When he died, I felt like someone had just smacked me in the face as they beat up my heart with a mallet. This video brought back that pain because it was just so on point and I’ll be honest, unforgivingly good. I remembered that I was the only one awake in the house, so I had to clutch my book to my heart sobbing. I’m the only one awake, and I’m clutching my phone, balling. You did well :)

Never cried so hard at a movie character dying before. I refused to believe that he was actually dead. I screamed at Thomas to go get that serum or heal him with his resistent blood. I cried for the next 40 minutes, even after the movie ended I couldn't stop. I had to watch Thomas and Dylan videos on RU-vid to be able to fall asleep, just seeing them together alive and laughing. Just freaking love their relationship, in and outside the movies. ♥️

I went to see The Death Cure three times when it was in theaters... and Newt's death scene made me cry like a baby every single time. Even though I knew it was gonna happen, that didn't make it any easier to watch. Newt is my favorite character from the series and Thomas did such an amazing job playing him.

It's my favorite movie. I cried because Newt died. The ending is very sad, but the movie is beautiful, and I salute the character of Newt and Thomas because they were always friends, and I wish I had a friend like Thomas and Newt. ❣️😢

The maze runner will forever be my favorite sci-fi movie, my favorite trilogy, and all together my favorite non-animated movie/s of all time. There is just so much emotion in them and the characters feel so real. Thomas and Newts relationship was so special from the beginning, and i only wish things had gone differently at the end. I also remember that Newts death scene was the single most I've ever cried in my entire life. I didn't even care that my family were there, after the soft "Tommy" as newt let go of his final breath the tears just started uncontrollably flowing. Like damn. His last words were "Tommy" and somehow that seems so fitting. And then once that was over it took me around 5 minutes to even begin calming down then of course they had to hit me with that note from Newt. And then from that point on i was just uncontrollably sobbing. Their relationship was so special. I truly wish the directors had considered making them canon, (Despite the fact that newts affection basically already is canon) but i know the audience response most likely wouldn't have been good, which is probably why they didn't go for it. That, and they might have been trying to stick as close to the books ending as they could, which i can admire. But damn, Newt of all people did not deserve to die. His death will forever be in my mind, the ultimate emotional death scene i have ever read and/or watched.

When newt died I didn't just cry I had a mental break down his character was perfectly cast and written. This is one of the most beautiful edits. It captured everything in their relationship. Newt deserved better
