I do hope that you had the subtitles on, the MV shows the path of his musical journey from infancy. Dimash dedicated it to his Dears on May 24,2023, his birthday, the MV was released, less than two weeks later his grandfather passed and many of us feel that so much of the pain we hear is knowledge of that very sad time coming. Dimash was raised by his grandparents, he called them mama and papa, so it was devastating. Mansur, his brother, just turned 17 in January and Dimash will be 30 on May 24, but obviously they are a close family.
How did he know? He was in Los Angeles at that time. He would Never have stayed there if he knew his grandfather was about to die,he would have been at his side.
@@suzanne6664 I certainly don’t have the impression that it was a short term illness, the family talks all of the time according to Igor so I am sure that he was aware that his grandfathers health wasn’t great, as far as knowing exactly when, nobody has that ability. It was also stated that he really didn’t want to do the concert immediately following his passing but his grandfather always said that you must keep your commitments.
@@suzanne6664 I wasn’t trying to say that Dimash knew that it was time to be at home, but many Dears suspected that Dimash was aware of the health issues, obviously he would been with his family had he known, his family is very important to him. If you notice, there are multiple likes on my comment, so many of us heard the pain in his voice, he was playing chess in the video and knocked over a piece, he played chess with his grandfather.
I know that Kenny. Rogers song. You're right, it has a lot of the same feel to it. I actually think that that line, "and she believes in me!" is the same tune as as part of this Dimash song! 🇨🇦

Thank you for this reaction. It was informative without being pedantic; respectful and appreciative without being fawning. I love this song and stripped down performance. As others have commented, Dimash released an MV of this very personal song on his birthday last year as a gift to his Dears and the people who have touched his life to convey how grateful he is to all those who helped him on his journey. It’s one of the few times he has both composed the music and wrote the lyrics. I’m on the fence as to which I prefer but I think I like this intimate setting slightly better where you can concentrate on his vocals more. I also like that he’s involved his brother Mansur who is a talented musician in his own right. I hope you continue with more Dimash. He just released an MV of his recent composition, When I’ve Got You. Perhaps you could react to that next. It’s something different and again shows how Dimash will continue to surprise you. I think you would enjoy it.
