Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is determined to defend the EFL Cup - the last trophy that his predecessor Jurgen Klopp won during his tenure at the club.
The 'Reds' will welcome fellow Premier League side West Ham United to Anfield on Wednesday for the third round tie.
Slot is expected to make a number of changes from the team that beat Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday but goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is set to start in goal with Alisson having not yet recovered from his muscle complaint.
