A cellar hole of a deserted NH homesite hides relics in the ground. We started the day off working what was the old back field of a farm now overgrown with forest. Metal detecting every inch we could and digging up all the signals we picked up on the detectors. We made our way over to a cellar hole of a site deserted the last 150 years and had a bit more luck. So many things buried in the ground sound the same on the metal detector and you have to dig them all Old buttons, buckles, spoons and other relics of he 1700s and 1800s are hidden in the mix. A bit of exploring and landscape history will let you know where to look.
